Cab booking in India has two very different meanings. One is tapping an app and taking whatever car is nearest at whatever the algorithm charges that minute. The other is booking a cab online in advance, choosing the exact car type, and knowing the full price before you commit. RutzIndia.com does the second. Our online cab booking covers airport pickups and drops, local hourly hire, one way drops and outstation round trips in cities across the country, and every fare is fixed at the time you book, with no surge at 2 am, in the rain or on Diwali night.
Online cab booking: how much will my cab cost?
A pre-booked sedan cab costs Rs 3,960 Pay Now to Reserve for an airport transfer of up to 40 km in Delhi, Rs 4,320 Pay Now to Reserve for 4 hours/40 km of local use and Rs 36 per km outside the city. An Innova is Rs 6,930 Pay Now to Reserve for the airport run. Prices are fixed at booking and exclude 5% GST, tolls and parking.
The fare you see is the fare you pay, subject only to items that depend on your route: toll plazas, state entry fees and parking, which appear on the bill exactly as paid. Waiting beyond the free window and extra hours on a local package are billed at the rates printed on your confirmation.

Book a cab in four steps
- Open the booker and choose a trip type. Airport transfer, local hourly package, one way drop, or outstation round trip.
- Enter pickup, drop and time. For airport pickups add your flight number; the chauffeur's reporting time moves with the actual landing.
- Pick your cab. Sedan, MUV, Innova Crysta, premium sedan, SUV or group vehicle. The screen shows seats and luggage space for each.
- Pay and relax. Pay by UPI or card; corporates can add a GSTIN for a tax invoice. Your confirmation arrives immediately, and the driver's name, a way to reach him and the car's registration are sent before pickup.
Prefer a human? WhatsApp the desk or contact us and a coordinator will make the booking with you.
Cab fares by city (2026)
Local and airport fares vary a little by city because of fuel, parking and traffic conditions; kilometre rates for outstation trips are the same everywhere. City figures are rounded to the nearest Rs 10 and all are before 5% GST.
For every class of vehicle, from Ertiga to luxury coach, see the complete fare list.

What each cab class costs per kilometre
Outside city packages, every booking is priced by the kilometre. This quick reference shows the rate for each class and what a 100 km and a 400 km one way drop cost, which covers most day trips and intercity runs. On a short drop the minimum fare for the class applies. The same rates apply in every city.
| Cab class | Seats | Per km | 100 km (minimum fare applies) | 400 km |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Compact sedan | 4 | Rs 36 | Rs 3,960 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 14,400 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Ertiga or Carens | 6 | Rs 42 | Rs 4,950 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 16,800 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Honda City, Verna or Camry | 4 | Rs 48 | Rs 5,940 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 19,200 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Innova Crysta | 6 | Rs 57.6 | Rs 6,930 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 22,800 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Tempo Traveller | 16 | Rs 78 | Rs 10,740 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,200 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Fortuner or Gloster | 6 | Rs 84 | Rs 12,360 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 33,600 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Urbania | 17 | Rs 102 | Rs 14,850 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 40,800 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mini coach | 35 | Rs 130 | Rs 23,100 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 54,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mercedes E-Class or BMW 5 Series | 3 | Rs 170 | Rs 20,640 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 66,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
Figures exclude 5% GST, tolls, state fees and parking. Round trips are billed on at least 250 km per calendar day, and nights away add Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve for the driver. Bigger groups can compare a 12-seater Tempo Traveller with a mini bus on rent.
Pre-booked cab vs app cab: an honest comparison
App cabs are brilliant for a ten-minute hop across town. For anything that matters, a pre-booked cab has clear advantages:
- Price certainty. App fares can multiply at peak hours, in heavy rain or when a bank of flights lands together. A booked cab has one price, agreed days ahead.
- The car you actually need. Asking an app for "a bigger car" rarely guarantees space for four suitcases. When you book an Innova Crysta or an Ertiga with us, that is what arrives.
- Long distance without drama. App drivers sometimes decline outstation rides or airport runs from distant suburbs. Our chauffeurs are assigned to your trip, not shopping for the next one.
- Airport patience. We track your flight and wait: 60 minutes free after an international arrival and 30 minutes after a domestic one, with a name board at the arrivals exit.
- Paperwork. Corporates get proper GST invoices, and travellers get a written record of every charge.
The trade-off is lead time. We recommend booking at least a few hours ahead within cities, and a day or more for outstation trips and early-morning airport runs.

Which cab should I book?
A quick guide based on group size and luggage:
- 1-3 people, light bags: compact sedan (Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura).
- Business travellers: premium sedan (Honda City, Verna, Camry) for a quieter, roomier rear cabin.
- 4-5 people with suitcases: Ertiga or Carens for short runs; Innova Crysta on rent for highway comfort.
- Hills or rough roads: a Fortuner or similar SUV.
- 8 people and more: a Tempo Traveller or, for bigger parties, a bus on rent.
Every car is a commercially registered, yellow-plate taxi no more than four model years old. You can look up any Indian vehicle's registration details yourself through the Ministry of Road Transport's Parivahan portal.
Book a cab in your city
Online cab booking works identically everywhere we operate, but each city page carries local tips: airport distances, rush hours, sightseeing packages and nearby drives.
- North: taxi service in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Lucknow, Varanasi and Agra.
- West: Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa, Indore and the Rajasthan trio of Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur.
- South: Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore and Mysore.
- East: Kolkata.
- Hills: Dehradun, Rishikesh, Shimla and Manali.
Airport cab booking
Airport runs are the single most popular reason people book a cab online. Each major airport has its own quirks. At Bengaluru's Kempegowda airport, typically 35 to 40 km from the city centre, the pickup zones and terminal layout are explained on the official Bengaluru Airport website, and a fixed fare spares you a long, metered ride. In Delhi, the drive from IGI to Gurgaon or Noida can take anything from 30 minutes to well over an hour depending on the time of day. Dedicated guides cover Delhi airport taxi, Mumbai airport taxi, Bangalore airport taxi, Hyderabad airport taxi, Chennai airport taxi, Goa airport taxi, Kochi airport taxi and Amritsar airport taxi. The overview is on our airport taxi page.
Booking an outstation or one way cab
For a trip out of town you have two choices. A one way cab charges only the kilometres you travel, so a sedan from Pune to Mumbai (about 150 km) is Rs 5,400 Pay Now to Reserve and from Chennai to Pondicherry (about 150 km) is also Rs 5,400 Pay Now to Reserve. A round trip keeps the cab and driver with you and bills the greater of actual kilometres or 250 km per calendar day, plus a driver night allowance of Rs 1,500 for each overnight stop. Read more on one way taxi and outstation cabs, or browse ready-priced routes such as Pune to Mumbai, Chennai to Pondicherry, Delhi to Chandigarh, Mumbai to Shirdi and Delhi to Haridwar. The routes hub lists every priced corridor.
Booking cabs for groups, events and weddings
One booking can cover more than one car. If you are moving a family of fourteen from Chennai airport to a wedding at a beach resort on the ECR, or shuttling conference delegates between Hyderabad's HITEC City hotels and a venue, list the headcount and schedule and the desk will build a single plan: perhaps two Innovas and a Tempo Traveller, all reporting together, one invoice. For weddings, hosts often combine a decorated wedding car for the couple with a pool of sedans for relatives, booked on 8 hr/80 km packages for each function day. Corporates arranging recurring staff movement should look at employee transport services instead of booking cab by cab.
When several cars are involved, a coordinator shares a trip sheet listing each car, driver and pickup point, so the person in charge at the venue knows exactly who is arriving and when.
What to expect from your chauffeur and cab
Booking a cab online should not mean gambling on its condition. The standards we hold every trip to:
- A clean, air-conditioned car that is commercially registered and within four model years of manufacture.
- A driver in presentable clothes who knows the route, carries the vehicle papers and has a working phone.
- No passengers other than your party, no detours for personal errands, and no smoking in the car.
- Luggage handled at pickup and drop, including at railway stations and airport kerbs.
- Honest routing. If a toll road is faster, the driver will say so and the toll appears on your bill; if you would rather avoid it, just ask.
If anything falls short, tell the desk during the trip, not afterwards, so we can put it right while you are still on the road.
A booking calendar for the Indian year
Cab demand in India follows the festival and holiday calendar more than the weather. Knowing the pressure points tells you how early to book.
| Months | What drives demand | How early to book |
|---|---|---|
| January | Peak wedding weekends; Republic Day rehearsals and road closures in central Delhi around 26 January | 1-2 weeks for weddings; allow detours in New Delhi |
| February to March | Weddings continue; Holi weekend trips to Vrindavan, Mathura and Rajasthan | 1 week before Holi |
| April to June | School holidays; hill stations; Char Dham season opens in late April or May | 2 weeks for hill and group vehicles |
| July to September | Monsoon; Kanwar Yatra on Delhi-Haridwar roads; Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai and Pune; Onam in Kerala | A few days; build in weather buffers |
| October to November | Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath; the wedding season restarts | 2-3 weeks around Diwali |
| December | Christmas and New Year in Goa; snow trips to Shimla and Manali; winter weddings | 3 weeks for Goa and the hills |
Outside these windows, same-day cab booking is usually possible in the metros, but a few hours' notice still gets you a better choice of car.
Tips for a smooth pickup
- Pin the exact gate. Large housing societies in Gurgaon, Noida or Whitefield have several gates; drop a map pin in the booking notes.
- Share a landmark in older areas. In the lanes of Old Delhi, Chandni Chowk or Varanasi, the car may stop at the nearest motorable point; the driver will call to guide you.
- Keep your phone reachable around the pickup time. Drivers call rather than text when they arrive.
- Mention luggage honestly. Two extra suitcases can decide whether a sedan or an Innova is right, and switching at the kerb is not always possible.
- Add every stop to the booking. A pickup of a second passenger on the way is easy to plan in advance and awkward to add at the last minute.
If you are booking for an early flight or a pre-dawn start to the hills, check the reporting time on your confirmation the night before. Our desk sends it again by WhatsApp, and that is the easiest moment to move it by fifteen minutes if your plans have shifted.
Reading your bill: the state tax and other pass-through lines
A booked cab's final bill has a short, predictable structure: the fare you accepted, 5% GST on it, and then any pass-through lines. The one that puzzles people most is "state tax" or "entry fee", so here is where it comes from.
Taxis that cross state borders run on a tourist permit. Under the All India Tourist Vehicles (Permit) Rules, 2023, operators pay a permit fee centrally, and the Ministry of Road Transport has asked states not to charge such vehicles any additional tax. Not every state has settled the matter the same way. Himachal Pradesh has long collected entry tax at its border barriers, and Uttarakhand has announced a green cess on vehicles registered outside the state, deducted from the FASTag when number-plate cameras pick the car up, as reported by The Tribune. Some cities and hill towns add their own entry or eco fees.
Our rule is simple: if a charge is lawfully collected on your route, it appears on your bill at the amount paid, backed by the receipt or FASTag record. If nothing is collected, nothing is billed. We never add a flat "permit estimate" to the fare. When you book a cab that crosses a border, the quote names the states on the route so you are not surprised.
The other pass-through lines are equally mechanical:
- Toll: the FASTag debit at each plaza.
- Parking: airport, station, monument or hotel parking, as paid.
- Driver night allowance: Rs 1,500 per night on multi-day trips.
- Extra time or distance: only on local packages, at the rates on your confirmation.
Cab booking from railway stations
Trains still carry a huge share of India's travellers, and a pre-booked cab solves the scramble outside a busy terminus. Add your train number and coach when you book; the driver tracks the arrival and waits near the main exit with a name board. Some practical notes from the stations we serve most:
- New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin: both have separate pickup areas on either side of the station, so the driver will confirm which exit by message; the Paharganj side of New Delhi is the busier one.
- Mumbai CSMT and Mumbai Central: traffic around the Fort area and Tardeo is slow in the evening, so allow extra time for onward flights.
- Chennai Central and Egmore: short hops to Chennai hotels, and a convenient start for the ECR drive to Pondicherry.
- Howrah: crossing the Hooghly into central Kolkata depends heavily on bridge traffic.
- KSR Bengaluru and Secunderabad: well placed for city pickups, but airport runs from here are long, so plan generously.
Railway parking fees are billed as paid. If the train is running several hours late, we move the pickup; there is no charge for a late train when the train number is on the booking.
Cabs for hospital visits and elderly travellers
A surprising number of our local bookings are for medical appointments. The 4 hr/40 km package suits a consultation or test: the car waits in the hospital parking while you are inside, and brings you home when you are done, without the stress of finding an app cab outside a crowded OPD. A few things help:
- Choose a sedan for anyone with limited mobility. Its seat height is easier to get into than an SUV's; a folding wheelchair fits in the boot.
- Mention walking aids or oxygen cylinders when booking so the right car is sent.
- Book a return time loosely. If the appointment runs long, the extra hours are billed at the printed rate; there is no need to rebook.
For regular dialysis, therapy or school runs, a monthly car rental with driver is usually better value than booking day by day.
Changing or cancelling a booked cab
Plans shift, and our rules are simple. Cancel more than 72 hours before the pickup time and you pay nothing. Inside 72 hours the charge is 10% of the fare; inside 48 hours it is 50%; inside 24 hours, or if the cab reaches you and nobody travels, it is the full fare. Changing the time or date is usually free if the same class of car is free that day. Everything is set out on our cancellation policy page.
Booking for Holi, Diwali, Durga Puja, Christmas in Goa or the November-February wedding season? Cabs, and Innovas in particular, sell out early in those weeks. Reserve as soon as your dates are firm.
