A monthly car rental with driver gives you what owning a car in an Indian city is supposed to give you, without the loan, the insurance renewal, the servicing queue or the search for a reliable driver. RutzIndia.com assigns one chauffeur and one car to your schedule for the month: the same face at the gate every morning, a car that is cleaned before each duty and replaced if it goes in for service. A compact sedan for 22 working days costs Rs 1,58,400 Pay Now to Reserve before GST, and the bill arrives once a month with the trip sheets attached.
Monthly car rental with driver: price per month in 2026
Monthly car rental with a driver is priced from the 8 hr / 80 km day package. For 22 working days a Swift Dzire costs Rs 1,58,400 Pay Now to Reserve, an Ertiga Rs 1,98,000 Pay Now to Reserve, a Honda City Rs 2,37,600 Pay Now to Reserve and an Innova Crysta Rs 2,77,200 Pay Now to Reserve, before 5% GST. Fuel for 80 km a day and the driver's wages are included.
We build monthly prices openly from the same day rates you see on the fare chart, so you can check the arithmetic yourself. The table uses Delhi base rates. Mumbai and Goa add 10%, Bangalore adds 5%, and cities such as Jaipur, Kolkata and Lucknow are 5 to 8% lower. A Dzire for 22 days is therefore Rs 1,74,240 Pay Now to Reserve in Mumbai and Rs 1,66,320 Pay Now to Reserve in Bangalore.
| Car class | Day package | 22 working days | 26 working days | Half-day plan, 22 days (4 hr / 40 km) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Compact sedan (Dzire, Amaze) | Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,58,400 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,87,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 95,040 Pay Now to Reserve |
| MUV (Ertiga, Carens) | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,98,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 2,34,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,18,800 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Premium sedan (City, Verna, Camry) | Rs 10,800 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 2,37,600 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 2,80,800 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,42,560 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Innova Crysta / Hycross | Rs 12,600 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 2,77,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 3,27,600 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,66,320 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Premium SUV (Fortuner, Gloster) | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 4,95,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 5,85,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 2,97,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Luxury sedan (E-Class, 5 Series, A6) | Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 8,25,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 9,75,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 4,95,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
These are ceiling figures, before 5% GST. For contracts of three months or longer, the desk looks at your actual routine (how many hours, how many kilometres, how many Saturdays) and quotes a contract rate in writing. That quote is never higher than the day-package total above, and you can compare it line by line before signing.

What the monthly price covers
The monthly figure is an all-in price for the core service, so you are not paying hidden extras for things that should be standard:
- A dedicated chauffeur on your working days, with a relief driver on his weekly off or leave, briefed on your addresses and preferences.
- The car itself, within four model years of age, commercially registered, with valid permit, fitness certificate and insurance papers in the glovebox.
- Fuel for 80 km per duty day on a full-day plan, or 40 km on a half-day plan.
- Servicing and breakdown cover: when the car goes in for scheduled maintenance, a car of the same class or better comes to you that day.
- Cleaning inside and out before each duty, with a water bottle and a charging cable.
- One monthly GST invoice with day-by-day trip sheets showing reporting time, release time and odometer readings.
Billed at actual cost on top of the monthly figure are parking, tolls (the car carries a FASTag and the statement is attached to your invoice), any state entry tax if you cross into another state, and overtime. FASTag balances and statements can be checked through the Indian Highways Management Company, which runs the national electronic toll programme.
Overtime and extra kilometres
A long day happens to everyone. Hours beyond the daily eight are billed at one-eighth of the day package per hour, so Rs 900 an hour for a sedan and Rs 1,570 Pay Now to Reserve for an Innova Crysta. Kilometres beyond the daily allowance are charged at the per-km rate of the class: Rs 36 for a Dzire, Rs 42 for an Ertiga, Rs 48 for a premium sedan and Rs 57.6 for an Innova. On contracts of three months or more, ask the desk about pooling the daily kilometre allowance across the month, so that a short Monday and a long Friday balance out.
Sundays, holidays and trips out of town
A Sunday or public-holiday duty is billed as an extra day at the day rate. If you take the car out of the city, say for a weekend in Lonavala, Mussoorie or Pondicherry, the outstation rule applies for those days: a minimum of 250 km per calendar day on a round trip at the class per-km rate, plus a driver night allowance of Rs 1,500 per night. For longer family trips it is often simpler to book a separate outstation cab and keep the monthly car in the city.
Who rents a car with driver by the month
The people asking for a car on rent with driver for weeks rather than days tend to fall into a few groups.
Expatriates and consultants on assignment. Someone posted to Gurgaon, BKC or Whitefield for four months does not want to buy a car or learn Indian traffic. A monthly premium sedan with a driver who already knows the office, the apartment and the international school is usually the first thing their HR team arranges. The corporate car rental desk handles these contracts, with the company as the billing party.
NRIs home for an extended stay. Families returning for a wedding season, a parent's surgery or a long winter often need a car from the day they land until the day they fly back. Pair the monthly car with our car hire for NRIs airport pickup so the same driver meets you at arrivals.
Senior citizens who have stopped driving. Children living abroad or in another city often book a monthly half-day plan for their parents, covering the morning temple visit, the bank, the chemist and doctor appointments. The driver becomes a familiar presence, and the family receives the monthly trip sheet as a quiet check on where the car has been.
Project teams and site offices. Engineers and auditors working on a plant or a client site 30 to 60 km from the city need dependable daily transport. An Innova Crysta for 22 days carries six people and their equipment. Larger teams should look at employee transport services, which run shift-based routes in Tempo Travellers and Urbanias.
Families between cars. If your own car is being replaced, has been written off, or you are waiting for a new-car delivery, a one- or two-month rental bridges the gap without a self-drive security deposit.

Monthly rental vs owning a car with a hired driver
Many families compare a monthly rental with buying a car and employing a driver directly. The honest answer depends on how many years you will keep the car and how much administration you want to handle. Owning means an upfront payment or loan, annual insurance, servicing, tyre and battery replacements, parking at home, the driver's salary, his leave cover and his paperwork. Renting turns all of that into one monthly figure and a replacement guarantee.
Rental usually makes more sense when:
- You need the car for less than a year, or you are not sure how long you will stay in the city.
- You do not want to manage a driver's leave, replacement and salary yourself.
- You want the option to upgrade from a sedan to an Innova for a month when relatives visit, then step back down.
- Your employer reimburses a monthly car and needs a single GST invoice rather than fuel bills and salary slips.
Ownership tends to win for families who will keep the same car for five years or more and already have a trusted driver. We would rather you choose the right option than sign a contract that does not suit you.
How to set up a monthly car on rent with driver
- Tell us your routine. Use the booking form or WhatsApp the desk with your city, start date, typical reporting and release times, weekly off, and the addresses you visit most.
- Choose the class. Most offices pick a premium sedan; families with children or elderly parents often prefer an Ertiga or Innova Crysta for the higher seating and easy entry.
- Receive a written quote. It shows the monthly figure, the daily hour and kilometre allowance, overtime and extra-km rates, and what is billed at actual cost.
- Meet the chauffeur. On contracts of a month or more we arrange a short introduction before the start date, so you can discuss routes, music, AC preferences and where the car should park at home.
- Pay monthly. The first month is paid in advance by UPI, card or bank transfer through the booker. Companies with a GSTIN can move to monthly invoicing after the first cycle.
Cancellation before the start date follows our standard rule: no charge if you cancel more than 72 hours ahead, 10% inside 72 hours, 50% inside 48 hours and the full first-period amount inside 24 hours. Terms for ending a running contract are written into your agreement. The cancellation policy page has the full text.

Rates by class: day, overtime and out-of-town kilometres
A monthly contract has three moving parts: the daily package, the overrun rates for long days, and the per-km rate when the car leaves the city. This table puts all three side by side for each class so you can budget the month properly.
| Class | Daily package (8 hr / 80 km) | Overtime per hour | Extra km in city | Out-of-town per km, 250 km/day minimum | Driver night allowance |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dzire, Amaze, Aura | Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 900 | Rs 36 | Rs 36 | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Ertiga, Carens | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 42 | Rs 42 | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| City, Verna, Camry | Rs 10,800 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,350 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 48 | Rs 48 | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Innova Crysta, Hycross | Rs 12,600 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,570 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 57.6 | Rs 57.6 | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Fortuner, Gloster | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 2,810 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84 | Rs 84 | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| E-Class, 5 Series, A6 | Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 4,690 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 170 | Rs 170 | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
Daily packages and overtime use Delhi base rates and change with the city factor; per-km figures do not. Everything is before 5% GST, with tolls, parking and any state entry charges billed at actual cost.
A worked month
Take a consultant based in Pune for a month, with a Honda City on a 22-day plan. The base is Rs 2,37,600 Pay Now to Reserve. Across the month she works late on six evenings, averaging an extra 1.5 hours, which adds nine hours at Rs 1,350 Pay Now to Reserve, or Rs 12,150 Pay Now to Reserve. One Saturday she visits Mumbai and back, about 300 km, billed as an out-of-town day: 300 km at Rs 48 is Rs 14,400 Pay Now to Reserve, plus the Mumbai-Pune Expressway tolls at actual cost. Her bill before GST and tolls is Rs 2,64,150, and every line on it traces back to a trip sheet. Pune's local factor is 1.00, so no city adjustment applies; the same plan in Pune car rental with driver terms is identical.
Choosing 22 days, 26 days or a half-day plan
- 22 days matches a Monday-to-Friday working month. It suits most offices and expatriate assignments.
- 26 days covers a six-day week. Families who want the car for Saturday errands, or businesses that work Saturdays, pick this one.
- Half-day, 22 days (4 hr / 40 km per duty) suits school runs, a senior parent's morning routine, or a professional who needs only a morning commute and one midday meeting. It starts at Rs 95,040 Pay Now to Reserve for a sedan.
If your needs change mid-contract, for instance a relative arrives and you need an Ertiga on rent or a larger car for a fortnight, the desk can upgrade the class for part of the month and pro-rate the difference on the invoice.
Yellow plates, permits and taking the car into another state
A car hired out with a driver in India must be commercially registered. You can recognise one immediately: commercial vehicles carry yellow number plates with black characters, while private cars carry white plates. Every monthly car from RutzIndia.com is on a yellow plate, with the commercial permit, fitness certificate and insurance that go with it. A privately registered car offered for hire with a driver is not covered for commercial use, which is a risk worth avoiding on a contract that runs for months.
Permits matter most when your routine crosses a state border every day, which is common in the National Capital Region: a family living in Gurgaon (Haryana) with children at school in South Delhi, or an office in Noida (Uttar Pradesh) with staff in East Delhi. Tourist vehicles can carry a state permit or an all-India tourist authorisation under the rules the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways notified in 2021, and the relevant notifications sit on the MoRTH website. For daily cross-border routines we try to assign a car whose permit already covers the route, so that border charges do not repeat day after day. Where a state still collects an entry tax that cannot be avoided, it appears on the monthly invoice at cost, receipt attached, and the desk tells you about it before the contract starts rather than in the first bill.
Your chauffeur carries his licence and the car's papers, and many drivers also keep digital copies in the government DigiLocker app, which can be shown at a traffic check. Weekend trips to hill states work the same way: any entry fee or green tax charged by the destination state is passed on at actual cost.
Monthly plan prices in all 27 cities
The table shows the 22-day full-day price for three popular classes in every city we serve. Follow the link for each city's local detail, airport and railway transfers.
Figures are before 5% GST and rounded to the rupee. In hill cities such as Shimla and Manali, a monthly car makes most sense for long-stay residents and project teams; winter snow between December and February can close higher roads for days, and the trip sheet records any duty that could not run.
The first week of a new contract
The first week decides whether a monthly car feels effortless or not. On the start date the chauffeur arrives early, walks you round the car, and confirms the addresses you use most. For the first few days he will ask more questions than usual: which gate the building security prefers, where the school allows drop-offs, how early you like to leave for the airport. By the end of the week the routine should run without instructions. If it does not, tell the desk; a driver change in week one is far easier than in month three.
For larger cars on longer contracts, such as a Fortuner on rent for a project site on poor roads, the desk also agrees where the car will be parked overnight and who holds the keys.
At the end of each month you receive three things together: the GST invoice, the bundle of daily trip sheets, and the FASTag toll statement. Check them side by side in the first cycle. Once the numbers match your own sense of the month, most customers find the monthly review takes five minutes, and any disagreement is settled against the odometer readings rather than anyone's memory.
Keeping the arrangement working well
A monthly car works best when both sides are clear from day one. A few habits help:
- Share a simple weekly plan every Sunday evening on WhatsApp, especially if a day will run late or start early.
- Keep the driver's mealtimes in mind on long days; a 30-minute break around 1:30 pm keeps him alert for the evening drive home.
- Check the trip sheet each week. If you spot a reading that looks wrong, raise it with the desk that week rather than at month end.
- Tell us early about festival leave. Around Diwali, Holi and Chhath the relief roster fills quickly, and we would rather plan cover than scramble.
Commercial vehicles in India must carry valid registration, fitness and permit records, and you can check any car's registration status on the national Parivahan portal using its number. GST registration details for any business, including ours, can be verified on the official GST portal.
If you only need the car for a few days rather than a month, the 8 hr / 80 km local package is the better fit, and for one-off transfers the airport taxi service is priced per trip. Browse all car classes on the fleet page, or see an Innova Crysta on rent if you mainly need seven seats.
