Coimbatore International Airport sits in Peelamedu, about 11 km from Gandhipuram and Town Hall, and typically 20-35 minutes away depending on how the Avinashi Road flyover traffic is moving. Ooty and Coonoor. The usual road climbs from Mettupalayam through Burliyar and Coonoor, about 85 km in all and typically two and a half to three hours on a clear day. Weekends in April-June and the Ooty flower show period bring long queues at the Kallar checkpoint.
