Taxi service in Mumbai: the 2026 price list
A private sedan taxi in Mumbai costs Rs 4,350 Pay Now to Reserve for an airport transfer up to 40 km, Rs 4,740 Pay Now to Reserve for 4 hours/40 km and Rs 7,920 Pay Now to Reserve for a full 8 hours/80 km. Outstation cabs to Pune, Nashik or Shirdi are Rs 36/km in a sedan and Rs 57.6/km in an Innova Crysta, before 5% GST, tolls and parking.
Mumbai is a city of long distances on short roads. A meeting in BKC, lunch in Lower Parel and a flight from Sahar can eat an afternoon if you are hailing black-and-yellow cabs or waiting on app surge. The RutzIndia.com taxi service in Mumbai gives you one car and one chauffeur for the whole job, booked in advance at a fixed fare. It is built for three situations: airport runs at CSMIA, local hire by the half day or full day, and outstation trips up the Mumbai-Pune Expressway or north to Nashik and Shirdi.
Local and airport fares in Mumbai carry a 1.10 city multiplier over the national card because trips here are slower per kilometre; highway per-km rates are the same as everywhere else.
| Vehicle | Airport, up to 40 km | 4 hr / 40 km | 8 hr / 80 km | Per km outstation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sedan: Dzire, Amaze, Aura | Rs 4,350 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 4,740 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 7,920 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 36 |
| MUV: Ertiga, Carens | Rs 5,460 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 5,940 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 9,900 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 42 |
| Premium sedan: City, Verna, Camry | Rs 6,540 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 7,140 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 11,880 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 48 |
| Innova Crysta / Hycross | Rs 7,620 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 8,310 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 13,860 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 57.6 |
| Fortuner, Gloster, Meridian | Rs 13,620 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 14,850 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 24,750 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84 |
| Tempo Traveller | Rs 11,790 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,870 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 21,450 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 78 |
Every rupee figure above is before 5% GST. The Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Atal Setu and expressway tolls, any state permit and all parking are added at the amount on the receipt. Round trips out of town bill a minimum of 250 km a day, and if the driver stays overnight a night allowance of Rs 1,500 applies.

Mumbai airport taxi at T1 Santacruz and T2 Sahar
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport works from two terminals on opposite sides of the runway: Terminal 2 at Sahar handles international flights and most full-service domestic airlines, while Terminal 1 at Santacruz serves several low-cost carriers. The two are linked by a road that can take 20-30 minutes in traffic, so confirm yours from the airline or the airport's reference page before booking. Flights to and from the new Navi Mumbai International Airport at Ulwe are quoted separately on distance, since most of the city sits more than 40 km away from it.
Your chauffeur follows the flight and waits at the arrivals exit with a name board. After an international landing you have a full hour before any waiting charge; after a domestic landing it is 30 minutes. Mumbai's night bank of Gulf and European arrivals between midnight and 4 am is when that grace period earns its keep.
Distances from T2, and how long they usually take outside the peaks:
| Destination | Approx. km from T2 | Usual time |
|---|---|---|
| Andheri East, MIDC, Marol | 3-5 km | 15 min |
| Juhu hotels | 8 km | 25 min |
| Powai, Hiranandani | 9 km | 25 min |
| BKC, Bandra East | 10 km | 30 min |
| Bandra West, Khar | 11 km | 30 min |
| Worli, Lower Parel | 18 km | 40 min |
| Borivali, Kandivali | 18 km | 40 min |
| Thane (Ghodbunder Road) | 25 km | 50 min |
| Vashi, Navi Mumbai | 28 km | 55 min |
| Colaba, Nariman Point, Fort | 27-30 km | 60 min |
The Coastal Road between Marine Drive and Worli, plus the Sea Link, has cut the South Mumbai run considerably in the late evening, though office hours still stretch it past an hour. More detail on terminals, pickup pillars and early departures is on the Mumbai airport taxi page.
Outstation cabs from Mumbai: Pune, Nashik, Shirdi and Goa
Most outstation trips from Mumbai use the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, which climbs the Bhor Ghat past Khandala and Lonavala, or the Mumbai-Nashik highway through the Kasara Ghat. Rates are the national per-km card: Rs 36 for a sedan, Rs 42 for an Ertiga, Rs 57.6 for an Innova Crysta and Rs 78 for a Tempo Traveller.
| Route | About | Time | Sedan one way | Innova one way |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mumbai to Pune taxi | 150 km | 3 hrs | Rs 5,400 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 8,550 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mumbai to Nashik taxi | 170 km | 3.5 hrs | Rs 6,120 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 9,690 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mumbai to Shirdi taxi | 240 km | 5 hrs | Rs 8,640 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 13,680 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mumbai to Goa taxi | 590 km | 11 hrs | Rs 21,240 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 33,630 Pay Now to Reserve |
Some sample bills, all before GST and tolls: a Lonavala day out is well under 250 km there and back, so it bills the daily minimum of 250 km, or Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan. A same-day Shirdi darshan return covers 480 km, which is Rs 17,280 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan or Rs 27,360 Pay Now to Reserve in an Innova. A two-day drive to Goa and back counts 1,180 km, Rs 42,480 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan plus one night allowance for the driver. Weekend escapes to Alibaug, Matheran, Igatpuri and Mahabaleshwar are booked the same way; enter the destination in the booker for an exact figure.
Coming the other way? Our Pune to Mumbai taxi page covers drops into the city, and the taxi service in Pune page handles hire that starts there. For the countrywide rules, read outstation cabs.

Car on rent in Mumbai by the hour
Half-day and full-day hire suits Mumbai better than point-to-point rides because parking and re-hailing are so painful. The 4 hr/40 km slot (Rs 4,740 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan) is enough for a consulate visit at BKC followed by a lunch meeting, or a hospital consultation at Kokilaben or Breach Candy with the car waiting outside. The 8 hr/80 km day (Rs 7,920 Pay Now to Reserve) covers a full sightseeing loop or a shopping day that jumps between Linking Road, Colaba Causeway and Crawford Market.
A South Mumbai sightseeing day we often plan:
- Gateway of India and the Colaba waterfront in the morning, with the Elephanta ferry if you have time
- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya and the Kala Ghoda art district
- CSMT station's Gothic facade and a pass by the Bombay High Court
- Haji Ali Dargah at low tide and a drive across the Sea Link
- Sunset at Marine Drive or Bandstand
The Maharashtra Tourism site lists museum timings and ferry notes. Extra hours or kilometres are charged at the rate shown before confirmation, and parking at malls and monuments is on actuals. Business users who need a car for a week or longer should look at car rental with driver in Mumbai.
Monsoon, Ganeshotsav and other Mumbai timing tips
Mumbai's weather sets the pace of the roads. From June to September heavy showers flood the usual low points, such as the Andheri and Milan subways, Hindmata and King's Circle, and travel times can double. On red-alert days our desk re-routes airport runs via the Western Express Highway or the Coastal Road and suggests starting early; the monsoon is also when the ghats to Lonavala and Nashik are at their greenest, so drive them in daylight.
Ganeshotsav, usually in late August or September, brings processions around Lalbaug and Girgaum and road closures on immersion days; book airport runs with a generous buffer. Navratri and Diwali lift demand for outstation cabs, while December to February is peak season for weddings in Juhu, Bandra and the South Mumbai clubs. Infrastructure work by MMRDA on the metro lines also narrows several arterial roads, which our drivers track day to day.
Weekday peaks run about 8.30-11.30 am southbound and 6-9.30 pm northbound. If you have a choice, a 7 am airport departure from South Mumbai is quicker than a 9 am one by a wide margin.

Areas we cover across Mumbai and the MMR
We pick up anywhere in the island city and suburbs: Colaba, Cuffe Parade, Nariman Point, Malabar Hill, Worli, Prabhadevi, Dadar, Bandra, Khar, Santacruz, Juhu, Andheri, Powai, Goregaon, Malad and Borivali. Thane, Mira Road, Mulund and Navi Mumbai (Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar and Panvel) are covered at the same city rates. Railway pickups at CSMT, Mumbai Central, Bandra Terminus, Dadar and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus are straightforward if you share the train and coach number.
A few local habits make pickups smoother. Many South Mumbai buildings and Bandra lanes have no space for a car to wait, so the chauffeur will park a short walk away and call when you are ready; tell us the building gate or landmark in the booking notes. Office towers in BKC and Lower Parel often need a visitor entry for the car at the podium, which takes a minute longer if your name is not on the security list. For Film City in Goregaon and the studios around Andheri West, share the gate number, because the campus is large and each entry leads to a different set. And if you are staying at a Juhu or Powai hotel, the concierge can hand your luggage straight to our driver at the porch.
Group, wedding and luxury cars in Mumbai
For a family function or an office offsite, a Tempo Traveller takes 12 to 26 people and costs Rs 21,450 Pay Now to Reserve for a local day; see tempo traveller in Mumbai for seat maps. Six-seat family travel is covered on Innova Crysta on rent in Mumbai.
Mumbai weddings and film-industry events lean on premium cars: Mercedes E-Class and S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Range Rover and the occasional Rolls-Royce. Our wedding car rental in Mumbai page covers the groom's car and guest shuttles, and luxury car rental in Mumbai handles executive and celebrity movement. Cars are within four model years; Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach up to seven.
Half day, full day or 12 hours: Mumbai hire packages
Mumbai days stretch. A film shoot that wraps late in Goregaon, a wedding sangeet in Juhu followed by a reception in Worli, or a relative's visit that starts in Thane and ends in Colaba can easily outlast eight hours. The 12 hr/120 km package is built for exactly those days. Its price is the Mumbai 8 hour fare times one and a half, plus 40 km at the car's per-km rate, rounded to Rs 30, so you know the whole day's cost before you start. Fares below include the 1.10 Mumbai multiplier and were updated in September 2026.
| 12 hr / 120 km | 8 hr / 80 km | 4 hr / 40 km | Car | Where Mumbai customers use it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rs 13,320 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 7,920 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 4,740 Pay Now to Reserve | Sedan (Dzire, Amaze) | Consulate visit at BKC and lunch in Bandra |
| Rs 16,530 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 9,900 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 5,940 Pay Now to Reserve | Ertiga or Carens | A family day between Dadar, Worli and Juhu |
| Rs 19,740 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 11,880 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 7,140 Pay Now to Reserve | Honda City, Verna, Camry | Investor meetings in Nariman Point and Lower Parel |
| Rs 23,070 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 13,860 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 8,310 Pay Now to Reserve | Innova Crysta or Hycross | Wedding guests between Juhu hotels and venues |
| Rs 40,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 24,750 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 14,850 Pay Now to Reserve | Fortuner or Gloster | Production crew with equipment in Film City |
| Rs 35,310 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 21,450 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,870 Pay Now to Reserve | Tempo Traveller | Office offsite or a group visit to Siddhivinayak |
Kilometres rarely run out in Mumbai before hours do. A 12 hour day that loops from Andheri to Colaba and back is typically under 70 km, so the choice of package depends mostly on time. If you do go over, extra hours and kilometres are charged at the rates shown in the booker when you book, and the chauffeur notes the closing odometer reading with you.
Mumbai outstation fare per km, class by class
Every outstation trip from Mumbai is billed per kilometre at the national rate. To make the numbers real, the table prices the most common one way trip, the 150 km run to Pune, and the 250 km that a round trip bills as its daily minimum (a Lonavala day out, for example, falls under this minimum).
| Car class | Rate | Mumbai to Pune one way, 150 km | Round trip daily minimum, 250 km |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compact sedan | Rs 36/km | Rs 5,400 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Ertiga MUV | Rs 42/km | Rs 6,300 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 10,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Premium sedan | Rs 48/km | Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Innova Crysta | Rs 57.6/km | Rs 8,550 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 14,250 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Tempo Traveller | Rs 78/km | Rs 11,820 Pay Now to Reserve (minimum fare applies) | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Fortuner SUV | Rs 84/km | Rs 13,590 Pay Now to Reserve (minimum fare applies) | Rs 21,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Force Urbania | Rs 102/km | Rs 16,350 Pay Now to Reserve (minimum fare applies) | Rs 25,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mercedes E-Class class | Rs 165.6/km | Rs 24,750 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 41,250 Pay Now to Reserve |
Figures exclude 5% GST and the expressway toll. The Mumbai-Pune Expressway was India's first six-lane access-controlled expressway and remains the fastest route east; its toll is charged at actual cost. Groups of 10 to 17 who want more comfort than a Tempo Traveller can compare the Urbania on rent page, and the fleet page shows seats and luggage for every class.
More one way destinations from Mumbai
Beyond the four routes with their own pages, these are the drops Mumbai customers ask for most. Distances are approximate door-to-door figures by the usual road; fares are distance times rate, never below the Mumbai minimum fare.

| Ahmedabad | 525 km | NH 48 | Rs 18,900 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 29,930 Pay Now to Reserve |
Trips into Gujarat or Goa add a state permit at cost. The full list of city pairs is on the routes hub, and multi-day Maharashtra circuits can be planned with the travel desk.
Airport and railway station transfers in Mumbai
For flights, book an airport transfer (Rs 4,350 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan within 40 km). For long-distance trains, which can arrive an hour or more behind schedule, we suggest a 4 hr/40 km package at Rs 4,740 Pay Now to Reserve, so a delayed train does not turn into a waiting charge.
| Arrival point | Chauffeur waits at | About from T2 | Best booked as |
|---|---|---|---|
| CSMIA Terminal 2, Sahar | Arrivals exit with name board | - | Airport transfer |
| CSMIA Terminal 1, Santacruz | Arrivals kerb with name board | 6 km | Airport transfer |
| Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus | Main hall exit, D N Road side | 26 km | 4 hr/40 km |
| Mumbai Central | Main entrance forecourt | 20 km | 4 hr/40 km |
| Dadar (Central and Western) | East or West exit as agreed | 14 km | 4 hr/40 km |
| Bandra Terminus | Station forecourt | 10 km | 4 hr/40 km |
| Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Kurla | Main exit | 7 km | 4 hr/40 km |
| Borivali | West side exit | 17 km | 4 hr/40 km |
| Thane | East side exit | 22 km | 4 hr/40 km |
| Panvel | Main forecourt | 38 km | 4 hr/40 km |
Check running status and platform numbers on the Indian Railways enquiry site and send the chauffeur your coach number. At CSMT and Dadar the crowds are dense at rush hour, so agree on one clearly named exit.

Pre-booked chauffeur, app cab or self-drive in Mumbai?
Each option has its place. App-based cabs are convenient for short hops when you can wait for a car. Self-drive works for people comfortable with Mumbai traffic and parking. A pre-booked chauffeur makes sense when timing matters, luggage is heavy, several stops are planned, or the trip leaves the city.
| What you need | Pre-booked RutzIndia.com car | App cab | Self-drive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price certainty | Fixed before payment | Can change with demand | Rent, fuel and deposit |
| One driver for many stops | Yes, 4/8/12 hr | One ride per booking | You drive |
| Airport name board, flight tracking | Included | Not usual | No |
| One way to Pune, Shirdi or Goa | Per km, one way | Depends on app | Usually return trip |
| Parking and waiting | Chauffeur handles it | Driver leaves after drop | Your problem |
These are practical differences rather than a verdict. For executive and VIP movement, see the black car and limo service; for a car every weekday, monthly car rental with driver; and for visitors from abroad, NRI car hire in India.
Three sample Mumbai days, one for each package
Seeing how real days fit the packages makes the choice easier. These plans assume a sedan and normal weekday traffic; the booker will price your exact addresses.
4 hours: a South Mumbai errand run (Rs 4,740)
Pickup at 10 am from a hotel in Colaba. First stop, a bank or passport office at Fort, with the car waiting on a side street. Next, fabric and jewellery shopping at Zaveri Bazaar and Mangaldas Market, where the chauffeur drops you at the edge of the lanes and meets you at a named corner. Back to Colaba by 1.30 pm, well inside 40 km. If the market runs long, extend on the spot at the booker rate.
8 hours: the western suburbs with family (Rs 7,920)
Start at 9 am in Andheri West. Morning darshan at Siddhivinayak in Prabhadevi before the midday queue, a drive over the Sea Link to see the Worli skyline, lunch in Bandra, and an afternoon at Juhu or the Sanjay Gandhi National Park gate at Borivali for the Kanheri Caves. Home by 5 pm, usually 50 to 70 km in all. Monday, Tuesday and Sunday bring bigger crowds at Siddhivinayak, so a Wednesday or Thursday is calmer.
12 hours: a wedding day with guests (Rs 13,320)
An Innova Crysta (Rs 23,070 Pay Now to Reserve) picks up the bride's grandparents from Thane at 11 am, brings them to a Juhu hotel for the haldi, runs a relative to T2 for an afternoon arrival, and waits through the evening ceremony before the last drop at 11 pm. The chauffeur stays with one family all day, so bags, gifts and the grandparents' medicines stay safely in the car.
Travelling with elders, children or special needs in Mumbai
Mumbai's kerbs are high, its footpaths crowded and many older buildings have no lift, so a little planning helps. Tell us at booking if a passenger uses a walking stick or a folding wheelchair; we assign a car with a larger boot and ask the chauffeur to come to the building gate rather than wait on the main road. Child seats are not standard in Indian taxis, so if you need one, bring your own; the chauffeur will help fit it. For hospital visits at Tata Memorial in Parel, Lilavati in Bandra or Hinduja in Mahim, the 4 hour package lets the car wait close by, and hospital parking is charged at actual cost. On long drives to Pune or Shirdi, ask the chauffeur to plan a food-plaza stop every couple of hours if elders are travelling.
Booking, payment and cancellation
Choose the trip in the online booker, see the fare, and pay by card or UPI. Driver and car details arrive on WhatsApp ahead of pickup. The fare covers car, chauffeur, fuel and the kilometres in your package; it leaves out GST at 5%, tolls, parking, permits and the night allowance on multi-day trips. Companies get a GST invoice for every ride and can set up monthly billing through corporate car rental.
If plans change, cancellation costs nothing up to 72 hours before pickup, then 10% inside 72 hours, 50% inside 48 hours and the full fare inside 24 hours or for a no-show; the cancellation policy sets out the rules. To compare Mumbai with other cities, browse all our cities or the fares page.
