Luxury car rental on RutzIndia.com means a late-model Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Range Rover, Toyota Vellfire or flagship S-Class that arrives washed, fuelled and air-conditioned, with a uniformed chauffeur who has driven that exact class before. You book it for a morning of meetings, an airport arrival, a heritage drive to Agra or a three-day family visit, and you pay one fixed rupee fare that you can see before you confirm.
What luxury car rental costs in India in 2026
A chauffeur-driven luxury sedan such as a Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series or Audi A6 costs Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve for 8 hours and 80 km in Delhi, Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve for 4 hours and 40 km, and Rs 165.6 per km outstation. Luxury SUVs start at Rs 57,000 a day. All fares are before 5% GST.
Those are base-city numbers. Local and airport fares move with a city multiplier: Mumbai and Goa are about 10% higher, Bangalore about 5% higher, Jaipur, Kolkata and Chandigarh about 5% lower. Outstation per-km rates do not change with the city. The table below is the whole luxury ladder, from the E-Class tier up to the ultra-luxury marques that we quote individually.
| Class | Typical cars | 8 hr / 80 km | 4 hr / 40 km | Airport (up to 40 km) | Outstation per km |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luxury sedan | Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 | Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 20,640 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 170 |
| Luxury SUV | Mercedes GLS, BMW X7, Audi Q7, Range Rover | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 34,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 230 |
| Luxury MPV | Toyota Vellfire, Kia Carnival Limousine | Rs 54,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 32,400 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 29,700 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 210 |
| Flagship sedan | Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 Series | Rs 96,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 57,600 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 52,800 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 330 |
| Premium SUV | Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 13,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,360 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84 |
| Ultra-luxury | Rolls-Royce Ghost or Phantom, Bentley, Maybach | on request | on request | on request | on request |
Every figure above is before 5% GST. Tolls, state entry permits and parking are added at the actual amount paid, with receipts. On trips that run past one calendar day, the chauffeur's night allowance of Rs 1,500 per night applies, and a round trip outstation carries a minimum of 250 km per calendar day. The live booker applies the right multiplier for your pickup city and shows the total before you pay.

Luxury car rental rates by model: day, extra km, extra hour and airport
Classes are how we price, but people choose cars by name. The table below breaks the ladder down model by model, with the three numbers that decide what a day really costs: the 8 hr/80 km package, what each kilometre beyond 80 costs, and what each hour beyond eight costs. An extra kilometre is charged at the class's outstation per-km rate; an extra hour is one-eighth of the 8-hour fare. The airport column is a single transfer of up to 40 km.
| Model (chauffeur-driven) | 8 hr / 80 km | Extra km | Extra hour | Airport transfer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes-Benz E-Class | Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 170 | Rs 4,690 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 20,640 Pay Now to Reserve |
| BMW 5 Series | Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 170 | Rs 4,690 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 20,640 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Audi A6 | Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 170 | Rs 4,690 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 20,640 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mercedes-Benz GLS | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 230 | Rs 7,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve |
| BMW X7 | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 230 | Rs 7,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Audi Q7 | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 230 | Rs 7,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Range Rover | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 230 | Rs 7,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Toyota Vellfire | Rs 54,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 210 | Rs 6,750 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 29,700 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Kia Carnival Limousine | Rs 54,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 210 | Rs 6,750 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 29,700 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mercedes-Benz S-Class | Rs 96,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 330 | Rs 12,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 52,800 Pay Now to Reserve |
| BMW 7 Series | Rs 96,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 330 | Rs 12,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 52,800 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Toyota Fortuner | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84 | Rs 2,810 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,360 Pay Now to Reserve |
| MG Gloster | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84 | Rs 2,810 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,360 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Maybach | on request | on request | on request | on request |
A worked example shows how the columns combine. A Mercedes GLS booked in Delhi for a full day that runs to ten hours and 110 km costs Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve for the package, plus two extra hours at Rs 7,130 (Rs 14,250 Pay Now to Reserve) and 30 extra kilometres at Rs 230 (Rs 6,750): Rs 78,000 Pay Now to Reserve before 5% GST, parking and tolls. Had the same day been booked as a round trip outstation, the per-km rate would have applied from the first kilometre instead, which is why local days inside a city and highway days are priced differently. For brand-by-brand detail, the Audi on rent, Range Rover on rent, Jaguar on rent, Vellfire on rent and Fortuner on rent pages go deeper into each car. For the history of the flagship class that set the benchmark for chauffeur-driven cars, see the Mercedes-Benz S-Class article.
Which luxury car suits which job
Choosing by badge alone is the most common mistake we see. The better question is who sits where, how much luggage travels with them and how far the day goes.
The E-Class tier for business days
An E-Class, 5 Series or A6 is the working luxury sedan of Indian business travel. Three adults sit comfortably, the rear seat reclines on most variants, and the boot swallows two large suitcases. It is the default choice for a client pickup at Terminal 3, a round of meetings between Connaught Place, Aerocity and Gurgaon's Cyber City, or an investor visit to Bandra Kurla Complex. If you need that for a single airport run, the flat airport fare of Rs 20,640 Pay Now to Reserve covers up to 40 km; beyond that, extra kilometres are billed at the Rs 170 outstation rate.
Luxury SUVs for families and rough last miles
A GLS, X7, Q7 or Range Rover makes sense when five people travel together, when the road to a farmhouse or hill resort is broken, or when a family arrives with the luggage of a long NRI visit. The higher seating also helps elderly passengers, who find it easier to step across than to fold down into a low sedan. At Rs 225.6 per km outstation, it is the car we suggest for Chandigarh to Kasauli, Dehradun to Mussoorie or Bangalore to Coorg.
Vellfire and Carnival Limousine for conversation
The luxury MPV is the quiet favourite of people who have tried everything else. Captain seats face forward with genuine legroom, the sliding doors open wide at hotel porches, and four adults can talk without twisting round. Delegations, a groom's parents on the wedding day, and senior executives on a five-hour highway leg all tend to end up in a Vellfire once they have ridden in one.
S-Class and 7 Series when the car is the message
The flagship sedans are chosen for a principal, a chief guest or a board chair. The back seat is the point: rear climate control, a quiet cabin at highway speed and the kind of arrival that a hotel doorman recognises. At Rs 96,000 Pay Now to Reserve for the 8 hr/80 km package, it is an occasional car rather than a daily one.
Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach
The ultra-luxury marques are quoted one booking at a time because availability, positioning distance and the exact car vary by city and date. Read the detail on our Rolls-Royce on rent page, and if it is for a ceremony, the Rolls-Royce wedding car guide.

Luxury car rental near me: the cities we cover
Searching "luxury car rental near me" usually means you want a car in the next few hours in a metro, or you are planning a specific date in a wedding or holiday city. RutzIndia.com covers both. The strongest luxury inventory sits in the big metros, where our dedicated pages go deeper into local pickup points, traffic windows and airport rules:
- Luxury car rental in Delhi covers IGI Terminals 1 and 3, Aerocity hotels, Lutyens' Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida.
- Luxury car rental in Mumbai plans around the sea link, BKC, South Mumbai hotels and the new Navi Mumbai airport.
- Luxury car rental in Bangalore handles the long Kempegowda airport run and the ORR tech parks.
- Luxury car rental in Jaipur and Udaipur are where palace hotels and destination weddings pull in Range Rovers and S-Classes from November to February.
- Luxury car rental in Goa serves both Dabolim and Mopa, and the long drives between North and South Goa villas.
Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and Chandigarh have their own pages too, reachable from the cities hub. In smaller cities, the booker will tell you honestly if a class needs positioning from a nearby metro, and what that adds.
A day in a chauffeur-driven luxury car: what is included
The fare buys more than a car. Here is what arrives with it:
- A chauffeur who drives this class. Luxury cars are assigned to chauffeurs who handle them regularly, know how to set rear climate zones and seat memory, and understand that the passenger may be on a call.
- A car within four model years. Our standing rule is that modern cars on RutzIndia.com are no more than four model years old; Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach may be up to seven, because those marques age differently and are maintained to a different standard.
- Water, tissues, a charging cable and a clean cabin. Newspapers or a specific drink can be requested in the booking notes.
- Flight tracking and a name board for airport pickups, with 60 minutes of free waiting after an international arrival and 30 minutes after a domestic one. Waiting after that is billed at the hourly rate for your package.
- Kilometres and hours counted garage to garage, with the start reading shared at pickup. On local packages, time and distance beyond the 80 km or 40 km allowance are billed pro rata, and you see the reading at drop.
What is not included: tolls, parking, state permits (for example on a Delhi to Agra or Chandigarh to Manali run), interstate taxes, and the chauffeur's night allowance on trips that cross midnight away from base. None of these are marked up.

Outstation luxury drives: worked fare examples
Outstation luxury car rental is billed per kilometre, which makes the maths transparent. A few real distances from our route pages, using the luxury sedan rate of Rs 165.6 per km:
- Delhi to Jaipur, one way, about 280 km: 280 x Rs 170 = Rs 46,200 Pay Now to Reserve before GST, tolls extra. In a luxury SUV at Rs 225.6 per km, the same run is Rs 63,000. See the full Delhi to Jaipur taxi page for timings on the expressway.
- Delhi to Agra and back in a day, about 466 km: above the 250 km daily minimum, so 466 x Rs 170 = Rs 76,890 Pay Now to Reserve before GST. The Delhi to Agra taxi page covers the Yamuna Expressway toll plazas and Taj Mahal closing day.
- Mumbai to Pune, one way, about 150 km: 150 x Rs 170 = Rs 24,750 Pay Now to Reserve in an E-Class tier car, or Rs 58,080 Pay Now to Reserve in an S-Class, where the minimum fare applies.
- Jaipur to Udaipur and back over two days, about 790 km: above the 500 km two-day minimum, so 790 x Rs 170 = Rs 1,30,350 Pay Now to Reserve, plus one night of chauffeur allowance and tolls.
For longer circuits, such as a week through Rajasthan, the Rajasthan tour by car and Golden Triangle tour pages lay out day plans that work well in a luxury SUV. The national highways authority publishes toll plaza locations and FASTag rules on nhai.gov.in, which is useful if you want to estimate tolls before the trip.
Who books luxury cars with a driver, and why
Luxury car rental with chauffeur is not only for the very wealthy. The pattern we see across India is practical:
- Corporate travel desks book E-Class tier cars for visiting directors and auditors, because a GST invoice in the company's name and a fixed fare are easier to approve than a string of app rides. Monthly and account billing is covered on the corporate car rental page.
- NRI families coming home for Diwali, a wedding or a parent's milestone birthday book an SUV or Vellfire from the airport and keep it for the visit, because one familiar chauffeur beats a new driver every day.
- Foreign visitors on heritage itineraries choose a luxury sedan so that the long drives between Delhi, Agra and Jaipur are restful. Useful planning information on each state sits on the government's Incredible India portal.
- Wedding hosts hire a luxury fleet for the families and the chief guests, alongside the decorated bridal car. That has its own page: car rental for wedding.
- Production houses and brands book luxury cars for shoots and launches, usually on 8 hr packages with extra hours agreed in advance.
How to book, pay and change a luxury car
Booking takes a couple of minutes on the online booker: choose airport, hourly or outstation, pick the class, enter pickup time and address, and see the fare. Payment is by card or UPI through the booker, and a GST invoice is issued in the name you enter. If your plan is more complicated (three cars across two cities, a mix of luxury sedans and a Tempo Traveller, or a car held for four days), send it through the contact page or WhatsApp the desk and you will get a written quote.
Changes are simple before the day. Cancellation follows our standard cancellation policy: it is free if you cancel more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% of the fare within 72 hours, 50% within 48 hours, and 100% within 24 hours or on a no-show. During wedding season and the Diwali and New Year weeks, luxury classes sell out first, so booking two to three weeks ahead is sensible.
Specific model requests (for instance "a white BMW 7 Series" rather than "a flagship sedan") are noted and honoured wherever the local fleet allows. If a named model cannot be confirmed, the booker offers the class and tells you so before you pay, never on the day.
Chauffeur standards on luxury bookings
The car is only half of what you pay for. A luxury booking on RutzIndia.com carries a clear standard for the person behind the wheel, and it is the same whether the car is an E-Class for an auditor or a Range Rover for a family:
- Assignment by class. Chauffeurs are matched to cars they drive regularly. A driver who is comfortable in a Dzire is not handed the keys to an S-Class on a Saturday night because someone called in sick.
- Documents checked. A valid driving licence and identity papers are checked before a chauffeur is assigned, and the car's registration and permit papers travel in the glovebox.
- Formal dress. Dark trousers, a pressed shirt or a uniform jacket, clean shoes. No slogans, no sunglasses indoors, no phone earpiece while talking to passengers.
- Discretion. Conversations in the rear stay in the rear. Chauffeurs do not photograph passengers, post about bookings or discuss one client with another.
- Phone discipline. The chauffeur's phone is used hands-free for navigation and for the desk only, never for calls or messages while the car is moving.
- Door and luggage etiquette. Rear doors opened from outside, bags lifted in and out, the boot checked before drop so nothing is left behind.
- Driving style. Smooth acceleration, early braking, no lane-weaving to save a minute. On highways, the speed stays within the posted limit; on hill roads, horn at blind bends and give way to uphill traffic.
- Breaks and handover. On long days the chauffeur takes short breaks while you are at meetings or meals. On multi-day tours he stays near the car overnight, which is what the night allowance pays for.
If anything falls short, tell the desk the same day. A replacement chauffeur is arranged where the city fleet allows, and the feedback goes to the operator concerned.
The vehicle-age rule, and how to check it
Luxury cars age quickly in Indian conditions: heat, dust and broken kerbs are hard on suspensions and interiors. That is why RutzIndia.com keeps modern cars within four model years, so a 2026 booking gets a car from the 2022 model year or later. The exception is Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach, which may be up to seven model years old, because they are built to a different standard and usually driven far less. If you want to see a car's registration year yourself, the registration number can be looked up on the transport ministry's Parivahan portal once the desk shares it with your confirmation. Cabin condition matters as much as age, so every luxury car is inspected before assignment for seat wear, air conditioning performance, tyre condition and a clean boot.
Luxury cars for shoots, launches and VIP movements
Beyond airport runs and family trips, three kinds of bookings come up again and again, and each has its own practical needs.
Film, advertising and photography shoots
Production teams usually need a specific colour, a clean unbadged background or a particular model year, and they need the car to sit still for long stretches while lights are set. Book the 8 hr/80 km package with extra hours agreed in advance, tell the desk whether the car will appear on camera, and confirm whether any actor will sit at the wheel for a static shot; a moving shot with someone other than the chauffeur driving is not permitted. Idling for air conditioning between takes is normal and is covered by the package.
Product launches and conferences
A launch often needs a matched set: identical black sedans for the dignitaries, a Vellfire for the chief guest's family and a Tempo Traveller for the media. Matching colour and model across several cars is easier on a weekday and outside the wedding season. One consolidated GST invoice covers the whole set.
VIP and protocol movements
Ministers' delegations, consular visitors and senior corporate guests usually come with a timetable to the minute and a convoy order. The desk shares car numbers and chauffeur names with your protocol officer in advance, and the chauffeurs are briefed on the order of cars, stopping points and security instructions. For a flagship arrival, the black car and limo service page describes how we handle convoys.
Is luxury car rental worth it?
For most people, the answer depends on how the day is used. Consider three honest comparisons:
- Against a premium sedan. A Honda City or Camry with chauffeur costs Rs 10,800 Pay Now to Reserve for 8 hours in Delhi, against Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve for an E-Class. For a solo traveller doing errands, the premium sedan is the sensible choice. For a client pickup where the first impression is part of the business, the difference is small relative to what is at stake.
- Against owning. A luxury car bought for a handful of occasions a year carries depreciation, insurance, parking and a driver's salary every month. Renting on the days you need it is almost always cheaper for occasional use.
- Against app rides. App-based premium categories rarely guarantee a particular car or hold one for a whole day. If the plan involves waiting outside a meeting, a wedding or a hospital, a booked chauffeur-driven car removes the gamble.
Luxury car rental is least worth it for short hops inside a city at rush hour, when any car will crawl, and most worth it for airport welcomes, long highway days and events where the car carries the family or the client.
Seasonal demand and how far ahead to book
Luxury inventory in India tightens at predictable times. From November to February the wedding season absorbs white sedans, SUVs and every Rolls-Royce in the big cities, and the handful of favoured wedding dates sell out first. Diwali week brings NRI families home and fills the SUV and Vellfire classes. Christmas and New Year pull luxury cars towards Goa, Udaipur and the hill stations. Summer is quieter in the plains but busy in Shimla, Manali and Mussoorie, where a luxury SUV is the sensible car for the climb. During the monsoon, from roughly June to September, Mumbai and Kerala bookings need extra time built in. As a rule of thumb, book two to three weeks ahead in the busy windows and a few days ahead the rest of the year. NRI families planning a longer visit can read NRI car hire in India for multi-week arrangements.
Luxury car rental versus the alternatives
A self-drive luxury car is not something RutzIndia.com offers, and in Indian traffic most people who try it once do not repeat the experience. App-based premium rides are fine across town but rarely offer a guaranteed E-Class or SUV, cannot hold a car for eight hours, and do not cover a Delhi to Jaipur highway run with the same chauffeur. A full-time driver and your own car need parking, insurance, servicing and a salary. For occasional or seasonal use, a chauffeur-driven luxury car at a fixed rate is usually the calmer and cheaper route, and the fares page lets you compare it against every other class in the fleet.
