Some cars arrive; a Range Rover makes an entrance. That tall, square silhouette with the floating roof has become the unofficial car of the Indian power wedding and the private-equity site visit alike. If you want a Range Rover on rent, RutzIndia.com supplies it the only way we supply any luxury car: with a professional chauffeur, a written rupee fare and a vehicle within four model years of the current one. There is no self-drive option and no refundable deposit to chase afterwards.
Range Rover on rent: fares at a glance
A chauffeur-driven Range Rover costs Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve for 8 hours and 80 km in Delhi, Rs 34,200 Pay Now to Reserve for 4 hours and 40 km, and Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve for an airport transfer up to 40 km. Outstation trips are billed at Rs 225.6/km with a 250 km daily minimum on round trips. All fares exclude 5% GST, tolls, permits and parking.
The Range Rover sits in our luxury SUV class, priced the same as a Mercedes GLS, BMW X7 or Audi Q7. Local packages move with a city multiplier; the per-kilometre outstation rate does not.
| City | Airport (up to 40 km) | 4 hr / 40 km | 8 hr / 80 km |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delhi, Gurgaon | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 34,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mumbai | Rs 34,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 37,620 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 62,700 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Bangalore | Rs 32,910 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 35,910 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 59,850 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 34,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Jaipur, Chandigarh | Rs 29,790 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 32,490 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 54,150 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Udaipur | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 34,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Goa | Rs 34,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 37,620 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 62,700 Pay Now to Reserve |
Figures are rounded to the nearest Rs 10 and exclude 5% GST. For every other car class, the fares page has the full rate card.

Which Range Rover you will get
Land Rover builds several vehicles with "Range Rover" on the tailgate, and they are very different in the back seat. Here is how we handle each one.
- Range Rover (full-size): the car most people picture. The long-wheelbase version has a rear cabin generous enough for a tall passenger to stretch out, and it is our first choice for a groom's car or a chief guest. Its air suspension lowers the body for easier entry, which elderly relatives in heavy wedding clothes appreciate.
- Range Rover Sport: shorter and more athletic, with a noticeably tighter rear. Excellent for two passengers on a hill drive, less ideal for three adults in lehengas.
- Velar and Evoque: these are smaller, style-led models. We can source them on request for photo shoots or a couple's drive, but we do not recommend them as chauffeur cars for more than two people.
- Defender: technically a separate Land Rover line, often requested for adventure shoots and mountain weddings. Available on request in select cities.
All of these are billed in our luxury SUV class. Land Rover's own India site lists the current range if you want to compare dimensions before choosing. If the exact model you want is not free on your date within the age rule, we say so before taking a deposit.

Where a Range Rover earns its fare
Palace and destination weddings in Rajasthan
In Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaipur, wedding venues are often reached through narrow old-city lanes, lake-edge ramps or long gravel drives, and a Range Rover handles all three with composure. It also photographs beautifully against sandstone and marble. The groom's entry car, a vehicle for the bride's parents, and a "getaway" car at the end of the night are the common roles. See luxury car rental in Udaipur, luxury car rental in Jaipur and taxi service in Jodhpur for local planning. Our general wedding car rental page covers baraat convoys and decoration etiquette.
Farmhouse receptions around Delhi
Chhatarpur, Sultanpur and the farmhouses off the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road often have long unlit approaches that turn into mud after a winter shower. A sedan can bottom out; a Range Rover will not. Pair one with a few E-Class sedans for relatives and you have a convoy that works in any weather. Luxury car rental in Delhi has more on NCR venues, and taxi service in Gurgaon covers budget transfers for guests.
VIP and celebrity arrivals
For a sports personality, a political guest or a visiting founder, a Range Rover offers height, privacy glass and space for a security officer in the front seat. Our chauffeurs follow the protocol your team sets: exact drop points, no photographs, no conversation unless invited. Airport pickups include flight tracking and a name board, with 60 minutes free waiting after international arrivals and 30 minutes after domestic ones.
Film, fashion and brand shoots
The Range Rover is a favourite picture car. We can supply it freshly detailed, with badges and number plates masked on request, and our chauffeur drives any moving sequence. Tell us the call time and location; long shoot days usually book an 8-hour package with pro-rata overtime.
NRI families home for the season
Many NRI families spend December in India and want one dependable, comfortable car for weddings, temple visits and the drive to an ancestral village. A Range Rover for the headline events and an Innova Crysta for daily errands is a common split. Our NRI car hire desk quotes multi-week bookings with one invoice.

Range Rover for the hills: routes and real costs
The hills are where a Range Rover stops being an indulgence and becomes the sensible car. Ground clearance, all-wheel drive and a calm ride on broken tarmac matter on the climb to Shimla or through the Atal Tunnel to Lahaul. Our chauffeurs for hill routes are experienced with ghat driving, overtaking discipline on blind curves, and the rule that uphill traffic has right of way on narrow sections.
| Route (approx. distance) | How it is billed | Fare at Rs 225.6/km |
|---|---|---|
| Chandigarh to Shimla, one way (115 km) | Class minimum | Rs 29,790 Pay Now to Reserve (minimum fare applies) |
| Chandigarh to Shimla, same-day return | 250 km daily minimum | Rs 56,250 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Chandigarh to Manali, one way (310 km) | 310 km | Rs 69,750 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Delhi to Manali and back, 3 days | 1,080 km actual | Rs 2,43,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Delhi to Mussoorie and back, 2 days | 580 km actual | Rs 1,30,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
Multi-day trips add a driver night allowance of Rs 1,500 per night. Himachal entry taxes, green tax at Manali and the Rohtang permit, where applicable, are charged at actual cost. Between December and February, snow can close roads above Manali and around Kufri; we watch advisories and will reroute or reschedule rather than take risks. The Himachal Pradesh tourism site is a good source for seasonal information, and national highway updates are published by NHAI.
Route guides with timings and stops: Chandigarh to Shimla, Chandigarh to Manali, Delhi to Manali and Delhi to Mussoorie. If you are planning a longer hill holiday, see our Himachal taxi service page, and for the hill-town base itself, taxi service in Manali and taxi service in Shimla.
What your Range Rover fare includes
Included: the vehicle within four model years; fuel for the package or the billed kilometres; a chauffeur in formal dress who has driven large SUVs in city traffic and on ghat roads; bottled water; a clean, fragrance-neutral cabin; and the chauffeur's time spent waiting at the venue during your package.
Charged at actual cost: tolls (collected by FASTag on most highways), state entry permits when you cross into Himachal, Uttarakhand or Rajasthan in a vehicle registered elsewhere, and parking at airports, hotels and monuments.
Charged by rule: 5% GST on the fare; driver night allowance of Rs 1,500 per night on multi-day trips; waiting beyond the free window at airports; and time or distance over the package, billed pro rata.
Not something we do: self-drive, stunts, off-road driving on riverbeds or dunes, or carrying more passengers than seat belts. Smoking inside the car is not permitted, and decorations must not use magnets, drilling or adhesive that marks paint.
A realistic budget example: a Range Rover for a Delhi farmhouse wedding on an 8-hour package is Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve, plus Rs 2,850 GST, plus perhaps a few hundred rupees in parking. If the reception runs two hours longer, you pay the pro-rata extension on the same invoice. There is no separate "luxury surcharge" or fuel adjustment added at the end.

Booking a Range Rover step by step
- Send your city, date, pickup time, hours needed and preferred model through online booking, or WhatsApp the desk.
- We confirm the model family and the all-in estimate in writing: package fare, 5% GST, and an estimate of tolls and parking.
- Pay a deposit by card or UPI through the booker. Corporate clients can ask for a GST invoice in the company name.
- The evening before, you receive the chauffeur's name and the vehicle details.
- After the trip, the balance is settled against receipts for tolls, permits and parking.
Cancellation: free if you cancel more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% of the fare within 72 hours; 50% within 48 hours; and 100% within 24 hours or on a no-show. The full wording is on our cancellation policy page.
A Range Rover is wide. Some heritage hotels in walled cities and a few Mumbai society gates cannot take it to the door. We check the approach at booking and, if needed, suggest a shuttle leg in a smaller car so you are not left walking in wedding finery.
Range Rover or something else?
If the goal is a luxury SUV and the badge is secondary, a Mercedes GLS or Audi Q7 costs exactly the same and is sometimes easier to secure at short notice; compare on Mercedes car on rent and Audi car on rent. If you need six seats and rugged capability on a smaller budget, the Toyota Fortuner with chauffeur at Rs 84/km is the practical choice. And if the brief is "the most luxurious car available", browse the full luxury car rental range, from S-Class to Rolls-Royce.
Range Rover tariff by model: package, overtime and airport
Every car in the Range Rover family is billed in our luxury SUV class, so the choice between them is about the back seat and the occasion, not the price. Delhi base rates, before 5% GST:
| Model | Best suited to | 8 hr / 80 km | Extra km | Extra hour | Airport transfer (up to 40 km) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Range Rover, long wheelbase | Groom's car, chief guest, chairman | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 230 | Rs 7,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Range Rover, standard wheelbase | Couples, families of four | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 230 | Rs 7,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Range Rover Sport | Hill drives for two, shoots | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 230 | Rs 7,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Defender (on request) | Adventure shoots, mountain venues | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 230 | Rs 7,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Velar or Evoque (on request) | Photo shoots, a couple's drive | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 230 | Rs 7,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve |
Overtime follows one rule everywhere: each extra hour is one-eighth of that city's 8-hour package, and each extra kilometre is Rs 230. In Mumbai or Goa, where the day package is Rs 62,700 Pay Now to Reserve, an extra hour works out to Rs 7,840 (rounded); in Jaipur or Chandigarh, where it is Rs 54,150 Pay Now to Reserve, to Rs 6,770 Pay Now to Reserve.
How a long evening adds up. A Range Rover booked in Udaipur for a lakeside wedding runs 11 hours and 70 km. Kilometres stay inside the 80 km allowance, so only time is extra: Rs 57,000 plus 3 hours at Rs 7,130 Pay Now to Reserve (Rs 21,370 Pay Now to Reserve) equals Rs 78,370 Pay Now to Reserve. GST at 5% brings it to about Rs 82,290 Pay Now to Reserve, plus parking or venue charges at cost.
Chauffeur standards for a full-size SUV
Driving a Range Rover well in an Indian city is a skill of its own. The car is wide, long and tall, and most scrapes happen at walking pace in hotel porches and farmhouse gates rather than on the highway. Our Range Rover chauffeurs are chosen for that:
- Tight-space control: comfortable using the surround cameras and parking sensors in narrow old-city lanes, basement car parks and crowded wedding driveways, and willing to stop and walk the approach before committing the car.
- Passenger comfort features: the air suspension on most Range Rovers can lower the body for easier entry. Our drivers use it at every pickup for elderly guests and anyone in heavy wedding clothes, and raise it again for speed breakers and rough driveways.
- Terrain awareness: on gravel, wet grass or broken hill roads, they select the appropriate drive mode rather than relying on momentum.
- Hill discipline: yielding to uphill traffic on narrow sections, using engine braking on long descents, and never overtaking on blind bends.
- Convoy manners: at the head of a baraat convoy, holding a steady walking pace, keeping the procession together, and never using the horn to clear a path.
- Presentation: formal dress, a clean car inside and out, the cabin cooled before pickup, and quiet, discreet conduct throughout.
Where your event needs it, the chauffeur also coordinates with venue security on drop points and waits in the designated driver area, reachable by phone.
Why the four-model-year rule matters on a Range Rover
A Range Rover's appeal is its cabin: quiet, soft leather, climate control that works in a Rajasthan afternoon, and electronics that do not glitch. Those are exactly the things that tire first on an older car in hard commercial use. That is why every Range Rover we confirm is within four model years of the current model, which in practice means the current generation or the one immediately before it.
The registration number reaches you the evening before pickup. You can confirm the registration date and vehicle details on the government's Parivahan service or the mParivahan app. If the car that turns up does not match what we confirmed, ask the chauffeur to wait and call the desk: we will send the right car or refund that booking.
Destination wedding plans with a Range Rover
Destination weddings in Rajasthan usually run over two or three days, and it rarely makes sense to keep a Range Rover on standby for all of them. Here are two costed ways to plan it, before GST, tolls and parking.
| Plan | What is booked | Fare |
|---|---|---|
| Udaipur, groom-only | Range Rover 8 hr / 80 km on the wedding day | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Udaipur, couple's two days | Range Rover 8 hr on wedding day, 4 hr / 40 km at the reception | Rs 91,200 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Jaipur, full weekend | Range Rover 3 x 8 hr / 80 km (Jaipur rate) | Rs 1,62,450 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Jodhpur, arrival and wedding | Airport transfer plus 8 hr / 80 km (Jodhpur rate) | Rs 83,940 Pay Now to Reserve |
Jaipur and Jodhpur carry a 5% lower local rate, so the Range Rover day is Rs 54,150 Pay Now to Reserve and the airport run Rs 29,790 Pay Now to Reserve. For guests arriving at the same airports, pair the Range Rover with Innova Crysta cars or a Tempo Traveller for the rest of the family. The Rajasthan tour by car page is useful if relatives want to add a few days of sightseeing after the wedding.
Weekend drives from Delhi in a Range Rover
The Range Rover is at its best on a long highway run followed by a rough final approach to a resort. Four popular getaways from Delhi, costed at Rs 225.6/km before GST, tolls and driver allowance:
| Getaway | Basis of billing | Fare |
|---|---|---|
| Delhi to Agra and back, same day (about 466 km) | actual km | Rs 1,04,850 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Delhi to Rishikesh, 2-day return (about 480 km) | 250 km x 2 days minimum | Rs 1,12,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Delhi to Jaipur, 2-day return (about 560 km) | actual km | Rs 1,26,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Delhi to Chandigarh, one way (about 245 km) | actual km | Rs 55,130 Pay Now to Reserve |
Notice the Rishikesh example: a two-day trip that covers fewer than 500 km is billed at the 250 km daily minimum, so it is worth adding a side trip to Haridwar or Mussoorie; the kilometres are already paid for. Each overnight stay adds a driver allowance of Rs 1,500. Route pages: Delhi to Rishikesh, Delhi to Agra and Delhi to Chandigarh.
Range Rover, GLS, X7 or Q7: an honest comparison
All four sit in our luxury SUV class at the same fare, so the decision is purely about fit. General characteristics:
| Model | Character | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| Range Rover | Commanding view, soft ride, strongest visual presence | The arrival itself is the point |
| Mercedes GLS | Roomiest third row, very comfortable rear | Families who may need the extra seats |
| BMW X7 | Sharp handling, lavish cabin | Long highway days with a keen passenger |
| Audi Q7 | Lighter feel, understated look | Corporate use and discreet VIP movement |
If none of the four is free on your date, the others are an equal-price substitute; our desk will always ask before switching. More on each: Mercedes car on rent, BMW car on rent and Audi car on rent.
Kashmir and the high mountains
Families sometimes ask for a Range Rover for Kashmir or a Leh circuit. Two practical points. First, positioning a luxury SUV from Delhi or Chandigarh to Srinagar adds long dead distance, which is billed like any other outstation kilometre, so it is usually better value to hire locally for the valley days; see Kashmir taxi service. Second, on unpaved high passes, a hardy SUV such as the Fortuner is often the wiser choice, because spare parts and tyre repairs for a luxury SUV are hard to find far from the cities. We will tell you honestly which car suits the road.

Planning a Range Rover for a VIP or security-led movement
When a Range Rover is carrying a public figure, the booking becomes part of someone else's security plan. What helps us fit into it:
- One point of contact. The protection officer or event manager who gives instructions to the chauffeur, and nobody else.
- A written schedule. Pickup, each stop and each drop point with timings, shared at least a day ahead; last-minute changes go through the same contact.
- Seat plan. If a personal security officer travels in the front passenger seat, a full-size Range Rover still leaves room for two principals in comfort behind.
- Vehicle details for venues. We send the registration number and chauffeur's name in advance so hotel and venue security can pre-clear the car at the gate.
- Waiting position. The chauffeur waits where your team specifies, with the engine ready and the doors locked, rather than in a general car park.
- Confidentiality. Chauffeurs do not post, photograph or discuss movements, before or after.
We do not provide armed escorts, armoured vehicles or security staff; those are for your security provider to arrange. What we provide is a punctual, well-presented car and a driver who follows the plan precisely.
Monsoon and winter: seasonal care for a rented Range Rover
- Monsoon (June to September): the height and all-wheel drive make the Range Rover the sensible luxury choice in Mumbai, Goa and Kochi rain. Chauffeurs still avoid deep standing water; wading through a flooded underpass risks the engine and electrics, so they reroute instead. Allow extra time for any airport run.
- North Indian winter (December to February): morning fog on the highways around Delhi, Agra and Chandigarh can cut visibility sharply. On early departures we may suggest leaving an hour later, when the fog usually lifts, rather than drive blind.
- Snow in the hills: routes above Shimla and Manali can close after fresh snow. We check advisories on the morning of travel and would rather hold a day than attempt a closed road.
- Summer (April to June): in Rajasthan heat, the chauffeur pre-cools the cabin before every pickup, which matters when guests are in silk and heavy jewellery.
