There is a reason the Toyota Fortuner is the car you see leading baraats in Haryana, climbing to Kedarnath base in convoys and parked outside every district collectorate: it is tough, tall and looks the part. Booking a Fortuner on rent with RutzIndia.com gets you that SUV with an experienced driver, at a per-kilometre fare that sits between a family MUV and a German luxury car. It is the sweet spot for families who want comfort on bad roads and a bit of road presence, without paying luxury-class prices.
Fortuner on rent: price per km and per day
A Toyota Fortuner with driver costs Rs 84 per km for outstation trips, with a 250 km daily minimum on round trips. For local use in Delhi it is Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve for 8 hours and 80 km, Rs 13,500 Pay Now to Reserve for 4 hours and 40 km, and Rs 12,360 Pay Now to Reserve for an airport transfer within 40 km. Add 5% GST; tolls, permits and parking are extra.
The Fortuner is our premium SUV class, which also includes the MG Gloster and Jeep Meridian at the same fare. City packages shift slightly by location, while the Rs 84/km outstation rate applies everywhere.
| Pickup city | Airport drop or pickup | Half day (4 hr, 40 km) | Full day (8 hr, 80 km) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delhi, Gurgaon | Rs 12,360 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 13,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Noida | Rs 12,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 13,080 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 21,840 Pay Now to Reserve |

Values are rounded to the nearest Rs 10; 5% GST is added to every fare. Our complete tariff for all vehicle classes is on the fares page.

Why hire a Fortuner rather than an Innova or a luxury SUV
This is the question we answer most often, so here is a straight comparison.
- Against the Innova Crysta (Rs 57.6/km): the Innova is more comfortable for six adults over a long, flat highway day and costs about a third less. The Fortuner wins on ground clearance, on broken mountain roads, on river crossings at the edge of monsoon season, and on the visual impact at a wedding or event. If your route includes the upper reaches of the Char Dham circuit, Spiti or rough Kashmir valleys, choose the Fortuner. For a Delhi-Jaipur-Agra loop on expressways, choose the Innova Crysta on rent.
- Against a luxury SUV such as a Range Rover (Rs 225.6/km): the Range Rover is far plusher and quieter, but costs well over twice as much. For a groom's entry car, the luxury SUV is worth it; for escorting the rest of the baraat, a row of Fortuners makes more sense. See Range Rover on rent.
- Seating: we seat up to six guests in a Fortuner. The third row suits children or adults on short hops; for six adults on a long drive, the Innova's third row is roomier.
Toyota's Fortuner product page lists the official specifications. The Jeep Meridian, also in this class, is a slightly more car-like alternative with a softer ride.
Every Fortuner, Gloster or Meridian we send is within four model years of the current version.
Fortuner on rent in Delhi and NCR
Delhi NCR is our busiest market for this SUV, and three kinds of booking dominate.
Wedding convoys. A white or black Fortuner line-up behind the groom's car is a North Indian wedding tradition, especially across Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad and west Uttar Pradesh. Each car is priced as its own 8-hour package at Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve in Delhi, and we coordinate arrival times at the venue gate so the convoy arrives together. Decorations such as ribbons and marigold strings are welcome if fixed with paint-safe tape. From mid-November to February, and around Dev Uthani Ekadashi, Fortuners in Delhi get booked out early; reserve four weeks ahead. More on planning in our wedding car rental guide.
Weekend hill getaways. Friday evening departures from Delhi to Mussoorie, Nainital, Shimla or Rishikesh are a Fortuner favourite. Leave before 5 pm or after 9 pm to avoid the worst of the NH-44 and Meerut Expressway traffic.
Corporate and site visits. Engineers, auditors and developers visiting project sites off the Dwarka Expressway, in the Manesar belt or along the Eastern Peripheral Expressway use Fortuners for the unfinished approach roads. We raise GST invoices in the company name; for regular use see corporate car rental.
For the wider city, taxi service in Delhi and taxi service in Gurgaon cover sedans and MUVs, and luxury car rental in Delhi covers the premium end.

Fortuner hill trips: real fares on real routes
The Fortuner is built for the mountains. Our hill drivers are experienced on ghat roads, understand that uphill traffic has priority on single-lane stretches, use engine braking on long descents, and know which dhabas and fuel pumps are reliable after dark.
| Route (approx. distance) | Km billed | Fortuner fare at Rs 84/km |
|---|---|---|
| Delhi to Dehradun, one way (250 km) | 250 | Rs 21,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Delhi to Rishikesh, one way (240 km) | 240 | Rs 20,160 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Delhi to Shimla and back, 2 days | 690 | Rs 57,960 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Delhi to Nainital, one way (300 km) | 300 | Rs 25,200 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Chandigarh to Manali, one way (310 km) | 310 | Rs 26,040 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Delhi to Manali and back, 3 days | 1,080 | Rs 90,720 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Jammu to Katra, one way (50 km) | 50 | Rs 12,360 Pay Now to Reserve (minimum fare applies) |
Returns are billed at whichever is greater, the distance actually driven or 250 km for each calendar day. The driver's overnight allowance of Rs 1,500 is added for every night away. Toll plazas, state entry taxes (Himachal and Uttarakhand levy them on outside-registered commercial vehicles), green taxes at hill stations and parking are all recharged at the amount paid.
Route pages with stops and timings: Delhi to Dehradun, Delhi to Rishikesh, Delhi to Shimla, Delhi to Nainital, Chandigarh to Manali, Delhi to Manali and Jammu to Katra. For multi-day circuits see Himachal taxi service and Kashmir taxi service.
Char Dham by Fortuner
The Char Dham circuit of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath usually opens between late April and May and the shrines close for winter around October and November. It covers roughly 1,500 km or more of mountain road from Haridwar, with landslide-prone stretches in the monsoon. A Fortuner is ideal for a family of four to five with luggage. A 10-day yatra is billed at the higher of actual kilometres or 2,500 km (250 km x 10 days), plus ten nights of driver allowance. Uttarakhand requires yatra registration for pilgrims; check the state's official tourism site for current rules, and see our Char Dham yatra by car page for itineraries.
Between July and mid-September, heavy rain can close roads in Uttarakhand and Himachal for hours or days. Our drivers will not attempt a closed or visibly unstable stretch. Build a spare day into monsoon itineraries; if a day is lost to a closure, it is billed at the 250 km daily minimum like any other day on the trip.
What you get for the fare, and what costs extra
Your Fortuner fare covers the vehicle (no older than four model years), diesel for the package or for every kilometre billed, and a driver who has done the route before or has specific hill experience where the trip demands it. Cars are cleaned before each job, the spare tyre and jack are checked, and in winter we arrange snow chains for routes above Manali when conditions call for them.
Separate lines on the bill: 5% GST; road tolls and parking recharged at the amount paid; state entry and green taxes; the driver's night allowance of Rs 1,500 for each night away; and any hours or kilometres beyond a local package, charged pro rata. We never add a fuel surcharge mid-trip, and a price confirmed in writing is the price you pay for the same itinerary.
A quick worked example for a family weekend: Delhi to Mussoorie and back over two days is about 580 km. At Rs 84/km that is Rs 48,720 Pay Now to Reserve, plus 5% GST of Rs 2,440, one night of driver allowance, and tolls and Mussoorie parking at cost. Split across five travellers, that works out to roughly Rs 12,000 each for two days of door-to-door comfort in the hills.

Other cities for Fortuner hire
We supply Fortuners with drivers across India. Useful local pages include taxi service in Chandigarh, the gateway for Shimla and Manali; taxi service in Dehradun for Mussoorie and Char Dham starts; taxi service in Manali for Solang, Atal Tunnel and Lahaul day trips; taxi service in Jaipur for Rajasthan weddings; and taxi service in Amritsar for Punjab weddings and Wagah border visits. For general long-distance travel in any vehicle class, see outstation cabs.
Booking, paying and cancelling
Send us your pickup point, date and time, number of travellers, route and whether you need a local package or an outstation trip, through the online booking form or by WhatsApp to the desk. We reply with a written fare that shows the package or kilometre charge, the 5% GST and an estimate of tolls, permits and parking. A deposit paid by card or UPI through the booker holds the Fortuner; the driver's name and car number reach you the evening before departure; and the balance, with every toll and parking receipt, is cleared after the trip.
Airport pickups in a Fortuner are handled like any premium job: your flight is tracked, the driver meets you with a name board, and you get 60 minutes free after an international landing or 30 minutes after a domestic one before the hourly waiting charge applies.
Plans change, especially around weddings. You can cancel without charge up to 72 hours before pickup. After that, we keep 10% of the fare if you cancel within 72 hours, 50% within 48 hours, and the full fare within 24 hours or if nobody shows up. The complete terms are on the cancellation policy page.
Premium SUV rate card: Fortuner, Gloster and Meridian
All three premium SUVs cost the same, so pick on comfort and availability. Delhi base, before 5% GST:
| Premium SUV | 8 hr / 80 km | 4 hr / 40 km | Extra km | Extra hour | Airport transfer (up to 40 km) | Outstation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toyota Fortuner | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 13,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84 | Rs 2,810 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,360 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84/km |
| MG Gloster | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 13,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84 | Rs 2,810 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,360 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84/km |
| Jeep Meridian | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 13,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84 | Rs 2,810 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,360 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84/km |
An extra hour is one-eighth of the local 8-hour package: Rs 2,810 Pay Now to Reserve in Delhi (rounded from Rs 22,500 / 8), Rs 3,090 Pay Now to Reserve in Mumbai and Goa (from Rs 24,750 Pay Now to Reserve), Rs 2,950 Pay Now to Reserve in Bangalore and Manali (from Rs 23,640 Pay Now to Reserve) and Rs 2,670 Pay Now to Reserve in Jaipur and Chandigarh (from Rs 21,360 Pay Now to Reserve). Extra kilometres are Rs 84 everywhere.
Worked example: a long baraat day. A Fortuner in a Delhi convoy is booked for 8 hours and 80 km but the wedding runs 11 hours and 95 km. Package Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve, 3 extra hours Rs 8,440, 15 extra km Rs 1,260: total Rs 32,200, or Rs 33,810 Pay Now to Reserve with 5% GST (rounded). Multiply by the number of cars in the convoy and you can see why a realistic timeline matters at the quote stage.
Driver standards for Fortuner trips, especially in the hills
A Fortuner is often booked for the roads where driving skill matters most. Our Fortuner drivers are held to these standards:
- Hill experience: drivers assigned to Himachal, Uttarakhand and Kashmir routes have driven them before. They use low gears and engine braking on descents, give way to uphill traffic on narrow stretches, and never overtake on blind curves.
- Night driving limits: on mountain roads we avoid driving after dark wherever possible. Itineraries are planned so that hill sections are covered in daylight.
- Vehicle checks: tyres, brakes, lights, coolant and the spare wheel are checked before any outstation departure; in winter the driver carries snow chains for routes where conditions require them.
- Presentation: clean clothes, collared shirt or formal attire for weddings and corporate work, and a clean cabin.
- Conduct: no smoking or alcohol, no mobile phone use while driving, no loud music unless you ask, and polite, calm behaviour with passengers and other road users.
- Rest: drivers are not asked to drive through the night; very long days are planned with a halt or a second driver, agreed with you in advance.
The age rule and what it means for a Fortuner
Every Fortuner, Gloster or Meridian we send is within four model years of the current model. For an SUV that spends its life on hill roads and highways, age shows up in suspension, brakes and air-conditioning long before it shows in the paint, and a newer car simply copes better with a ten-day mountain circuit. Newer cars also meet the latest emission norms and carry current safety equipment.
You can check any car yourself. We send the registration number before pickup, and the government's Parivahan service or the mParivahan app will show its registration date. If the car does not match the confirmation, ask the driver to wait and call the desk.
Costing a Fortuner baraat convoy
Convoys of matching Fortuners are a feature of weddings across Delhi NCR, Haryana, Punjab and western Uttar Pradesh. A costed example for Delhi, before GST, tolls and parking:
| Convoy element | Vehicle | Package | Fare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Groom's car | Range Rover or Mercedes GLS | 8 hr / 80 km | Rs 57,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Convoy of matching SUVs | 8 x Toyota Fortuner | 8 hr / 80 km each | Rs 1,80,000 |
| Family elders | 2 x Innova Crysta | 8 hr / 80 km each | Rs 25,200 |
That is Rs 2,62,200 Pay Now to Reserve for eleven vehicles before GST. White and black are the colours most families ask for; matching every car in a large convoy takes time to source, so book four to six weeks ahead for dates between November and February. Ask for colour-matching at booking and we will confirm in writing how many matching cars are available before you pay. Amritsar and Punjab weddings follow the same pattern; see taxi service in Amritsar for local cars, and a one-way Fortuner from Delhi to Amritsar is about 450 km, or Rs 37,800 Pay Now to Reserve.
Char Dham by Fortuner: a costed 10-day plan
The Char Dham circuit from Haridwar is the Fortuner's natural habitat. A typical 10-day family itinerary and how it is billed:
| Day | Stretch | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Haridwar to Barkot | Drive via Dehradun and Mussoorie hills |
| 2 | Barkot, Yamunotri | Drive to Janki Chatti; trek or pony to the shrine |
| 3 | Barkot to Uttarkashi | Mountain drive along the Yamuna and Bhagirathi valleys |
| 4 | Uttarkashi, Gangotri | Day trip to Gangotri and back |
| 5 | Uttarkashi to Guptkashi or Sitapur | Long mountain drive via Tehri region |
| 6 | Kedarnath | Car to Sonprayag; trek, pony or helicopter to the shrine |
| 7 | Kedarnath to Guptkashi | Return to the car at Sonprayag |
| 8 | Guptkashi to Badrinath | Drive via Chopta or Rudraprayag and Joshimath |
| 9 | Badrinath to Rudraprayag | Temple visit, Mana village, drive down |
| 10 | Rudraprayag to Haridwar or Rishikesh | Final descent along the Ganga |
Billing: 10 days x 250 km = 2,500 km minimum at Rs 84/km, which is Rs 2,10,000 Pay Now to Reserve if the actual distance is lower; if it is higher, the actual kilometres apply. Add 10 nights of driver allowance (Rs 15,000 in total), Uttarakhand entry tax where applicable, parking and 5% GST. On the Kedarnath trek days the Fortuner waits at the roadhead; those days still count toward the daily minimum. Pilgrims must complete the state's yatra registration before travelling. Our Char Dham yatra by car page covers seasons and variations, and taxi service in Rishikesh and Delhi to Haridwar help with the start of the journey.
Fortuner, Innova Crysta or Gloster: which to choose
| Need | Best choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Six adults on flat highways | Innova Crysta at Rs 57.6/km | Roomier third row, lower fare |
| Hill roads, snow, rough approaches | Toyota Fortuner at Rs 84/km | Ground clearance and rugged build |
| Maximum cabin space in an SUV | MG Gloster at Rs 84/km | Larger cabin at the same fare |
| Softer ride on long highway days | Jeep Meridian at Rs 84/km | More car-like comfort |
| Big group of 10 or more | Tempo Traveller at Rs 78/km | One vehicle, low per-head cost |
For a family of four or five heading to the mountains, the Fortuner is our default recommendation. For a group of six adults travelling Delhi to Jaipur and Agra on expressways, the Innova Crysta is more comfortable and costs less.
Snow season: Manali, Shimla and beyond
Between December and February, snow transforms the drive beyond Manali and around Shimla. A few practical points:
- Atal Tunnel and Lahaul: the tunnel keeps Lahaul accessible for much of the winter, but roads on either side can close after fresh snowfall. We check the local administration's advisories each morning.
- Solang and the higher points: vehicles may be stopped short of the snow line by local authorities, and permits apply to some routes above Manali. Charges are passed on at actual cost.
- Kufri and Narkanda near Shimla: popular for snow, and slow at weekends; start early.
- Chains and patience: the driver fits snow chains where needed and will not attempt a road the police have closed, whatever the itinerary says.
Local drivers and fares for the season: taxi service in Manali, taxi service in Shimla and the Himachal Pradesh tourism portal for current conditions.

Vaishno Devi and Kashmir by Fortuner
Pilgrims heading to Vaishno Devi usually arrive by train or air at Jammu and take a car to Katra, about 50 km away. A Fortuner one way is Rs 12,360 Pay Now to Reserve, since the minimum fare applies on so short a run, before GST and tolls; families with elderly members or heavy luggage appreciate the space on the climb into Katra town. From Katra, the yatra itself is on foot, pony, palki or by the helicopter service to Sanjichhat, and the car waits at the town end if you have booked it for the day. See our Jammu to Katra route page for timings.
For Kashmir itself, a Fortuner handles the Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg circuit well, especially in spring and autumn when roads to the meadows can be rough in patches. Local permits, parking fees at tourist points, and local taxi-association arrangements at places such as Pahalgam and Gulmarg, which can limit where outside vehicles may take visitors, are all realities of the valley; our Kashmir taxi service page explains how we plan around them and when a locally registered car is the better choice.
Desert and palace weddings in Rajasthan
In Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and the palace hotels around Jaipur and Udaipur, wedding venues often sit at the end of long, sandy or cobbled approaches. A Fortuner convoy copes easily and still looks smart in the photographs. The Jaipur and Jodhpur local rate is Rs 21,360 Pay Now to Reserve for 8 hours and 80 km before GST, and the Udaipur rate is Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve. For long inter-city transfers between wedding venues, the Rs 84/km outstation rate applies; Jaipur to Udaipur is about 395 km, or Rs 33,180 Pay Now to Reserve one way before tolls. The drivers keep the air-conditioning running between events in the hot months, when a closed SUV parked in the sun becomes uncomfortable within minutes. For local planning, see taxi service in Jodhpur and the Jaipur to Udaipur route.
