Anyone who has spent six hours in the back row of an older van knows the difference a modern body makes. The Force Urbania was designed from the ground up as a passenger van rather than adapted from a goods chassis, and it shows: a car-like monocoque shell, sealed windows, a quieter cabin and seats that feel closer to an airline's than a bus's. Urbania on rent from RutzIndia.com comes with a trained driver in 10, 13 and 17 seat versions, for Rs 102 per km on outstation trips or Rs 27,000 for a local 8 hour / 80 km day.
Force Urbania on rent: what it costs
Force Urbania on rent costs Rs 102 per km for outstation trips, with a 250 km per day minimum on round trips (Rs 25,500 a day at least). Local packages are Rs 16,200 Pay Now to Reserve for 4 hours/40 km and Rs 27,000 Pay Now to Reserve for 8 hours/80 km, and an airport transfer up to 40 km is Rs 14,850 Pay Now to Reserve. Prices exclude 5% GST, tolls and parking.
The outstation rate is identical nationwide. City packages move with a local factor: in Mumbai an 8 hour day is about Rs 29,700 Pay Now to Reserve and an airport run about Rs 16,330 Pay Now to Reserve, while in Jaipur the 8 hour day comes to about Rs 25,650 Pay Now to Reserve.
| Journey | Km billed | Urbania fare |
|---|---|---|
| City 4 hr / 40 km | package | Rs 16,200 Pay Now to Reserve |
| City 8 hr / 80 km | package | Rs 27,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Airport pickup or drop (up to 40 km) | one way | Rs 14,850 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Chandigarh to Shimla | 115 | Rs 14,100 Pay Now to Reserve (minimum fare applies) |
| Mumbai to Pune | 150 | Rs 16,350 Pay Now to Reserve (minimum fare applies) |
| Delhi to Jaipur | 280 | Rs 28,560 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Jaipur to Udaipur | 395 | Rs 40,290 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Delhi to Agra and back in a day | 466 | Rs 47,530 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Bangalore to Coorg round trip, 2 days | 530 | Rs 54,060 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Delhi to Shimla round trip, 2 days | 690 | Rs 70,380 Pay Now to Reserve |
Night allowance for the driver, Rs 1,500 per night, is added on multi-day journeys, and any interstate entry tax still collected at a border is charged exactly as receipted.

Urbania or tempo traveller: is the upgrade worth it?
For twelve passengers on a same-day Delhi to Agra trip, the Urbania costs Rs 47,530 Pay Now to Reserve against Rs 36,350 Pay Now to Reserve for a standard tempo traveller. That is about Rs 930 extra per person. What that buys:
- Ride quality. The monocoque body and modern suspension soak up expressway joints and broken patches far better, which matters most in the rear rows.
- Cooling. A multi-zone AC system with individual vents above each seat keeps the back of the van as cool as the front on a May afternoon in Rajasthan.
- Seats. Reclining seats with proper headrests and reading lamps, and USB charging points so phones survive a full day of photographs.
- Safety equipment. The Urbania range comes with ABS and electronic stability aids, and front airbags, features that older vans in the segment typically lacked.
- Quiet. Sealed panoramic windows and better insulation mean conversation at normal volume, which families on long drives appreciate more than they expect.
If the trip is under two hours or mostly within the city, a Traveller does the job. For airport groups, wedding VIP families, foreign tour parties and any drive over four hours, the Urbania earns its premium.
Seating: 10, 13, 14 and 17 seat Urbania layouts
Force builds the Urbania on three wheelbases, and the seat count depends on which one and how the operator has specified the cabin. The table sets out the numbers that decide your bill.
| Urbania version | Wheelbase | Per km | Min km per day (round trip) | Minimum day fare | Driver night allowance |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 seater | Short | Rs 102 | 250 km | Rs 25,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 13 seater | Long | Rs 102 | 250 km | Rs 25,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 14 seater | Medium | Rs 102 | 250 km | Rs 25,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 17 seater | Long | Rs 102 | 250 km | Rs 25,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
Seat counts exclude the driver. The rate is the same across versions; what changes is how much room each passenger gets and how much luggage fits behind the last row.
10 seater Urbania
The short-wheelbase van is the most manoeuvrable of the three and the one we suggest for hill towns, old-city hotels and narrow resort approaches. Ten individual reclining seats sit either side of a walk-through aisle, so nobody has to fold a seat to reach the back. With ten people aboard, the rear compartment takes soft bags and a few cabin suitcases; with seven or eight, it swallows proper check-in luggage. Senior citizens, small corporate delegations and families who value legroom over headcount book it most. For nine or ten travellers, it also compares well with two Innova Crystas: Rs 102 per km for one van against Rs 114 for two cars, with everyone in one cabin.
13 seater Urbania
A long body with fewer, more generously spaced seats. The extra length goes into legroom and a larger luggage area, which makes the 13 seater the pick for wedding families moving between palace hotels, and for foreign tour groups on week-long circuits who carry two bags each. It is the version we usually suggest for airport groups of ten to twelve with full luggage.
14 seater Urbania
The medium wheelbase sits between the other two. It is less common in operators' yards, so we confirm availability city by city, but when a group is exactly twelve or thirteen and travels light, it is the most efficient size. If a 14 seater is not free on your dates, we will offer the 13 or 17 seat version at the same per-km rate rather than a different class.
17 seater Urbania
The full-capacity long body with a centre aisle throughout. Right for groups of fourteen to sixteen who want one seat spare for bags, and for office teams on conference transfers. With every seat filled, luggage space is limited to the rear compartment; for airport runs where everyone has a large case, plan on fifteen passengers or add a luggage vehicle.
Luggage lives in a rear compartment behind the last row. Unlike older Travellers, most Urbanias do not use a roof carrier, so tell us bag counts in advance: for an airport group of 12 with two large suitcases each, we will suggest the 13 seater or a small luggage vehicle alongside. Manufacturer details are on the Force Motors website.

Urbania local fares by city, 2026

Urbania trip costs: popular routes
Totals use the Rs 102 per km rate and, for round trips, the 250 km daily minimum. Per-head figures assume twelve travellers, before GST, tolls, parking, state tax and the driver's allowance.

Urbania, two Innovas, a Traveller or a Vellfire?
| Option | Seats | Per km | Ride and cabin | When it wins |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Force Urbania | 10 to 17 | Rs 102 | Modern van, individual AC vents, airbags | Groups of 9 to 16 on long highway days |
| Two Innova Crystas | 12 | Rs 114 combined | Car ride, two cabins | Groups who want to split, or steep hill roads |
| Tempo Traveller | 9 to 26 | Rs 78 | Older design, roof luggage | Budget groups, short trips, hill hairpins |
| Toyota Vellfire | up to 5 | Rs 210 | Lounge seats, chauffeur-car feel | VIPs and executives, not groups |
The Urbania is not the cheapest way to move twelve people, but it is the most comfortable single vehicle for that number, and on a long day the difference shows in how the group feels at dinner.
What the Urbania's safety equipment actually does
Buyers of group transport rarely ask about safety features, but they matter on Indian highways.
- ABS with EBD: anti-lock brakes keep the wheels from locking under hard braking, so the driver can still steer; electronic brake-force distribution balances braking between a full and an empty van.
- Electronic stability programme: detects a skid and brakes individual wheels to bring the van back in line, useful on wet expressways and sudden lane changes.
- Hill hold: stops the van rolling back on steep starts, which helps on ghat roads and hotel ramps.
- Front airbags: protect the driver and front passenger in a frontal impact.
- Disc brakes and a car-like body: shorter stopping distances and a stiffer structure than older van designs.
None of this replaces a careful driver, which is why we pair Urbanias with experienced highway and hill drivers and plan long days with regular breaks.
Worked example: five days in Kerala by Urbania
A family group of eleven lands at Kochi and wants hills, spice country and backwaters before flying home from the same airport.
| Day | Route | Approx km |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Kochi airport to Munnar | 130 |
| 2 | Munnar tea estates, Mattupetty, Eravikulam area | 50 |
| 3 | Munnar to Thekkady | 90 |
| 4 | Thekkady to Alleppey | 140 |
| 5 | Alleppey houseboat morning, then Kochi airport | 55 |
Driven total: about 465 km. Five days at 250 km is 1,250 km, which is higher, so 1,250 km is billed: Rs 1,27,500 Pay Now to Reserve. Add four night allowances at Rs 1,500, parking and 5% GST. The daily minimum dominates short-distance holidays like this one; if you would rather not pay for kilometres you do not drive, book the van for the travel days only and use local taxis on the rest days. Our Kerala tour by car page has more itineraries, and tempo traveller in Kochi covers city pickups.
Urbanias for foreign tourists and NRI families
Visitors from abroad often expect a vehicle closer to the vans they know at home, and the Urbania meets that expectation better than any older Indian van: individual seats, sealed windows, airbags and a quiet cabin. For tour groups we can arrange for the driver to meet the group at the international arrivals exit with a name board, wait up to 60 minutes free after landing, and keep the same van and driver for the whole tour so luggage stays in one place. For monument information and visitor guidance, the Delhi Tourism and national tourism portals are good references before arrival.
Where Urbanias shine: airport groups, weddings and tours
Airport arrivals. Families landing together at Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore fit in one van instead of three cabs. The driver tracks the flight and waits with a name board; international arrivals get 60 minutes of free waiting and domestic ones 30 minutes before hourly waiting begins. Read more on our airport taxi page.
Destination weddings. Guest shuttles between the airport, hotels and the venue in Udaipur, Jaipur and Goa, especially when guests include older relatives who dislike climbing into a high-floor van. For the couple themselves, see wedding car rental.
Golden Triangle and Rajasthan tours. Foreign and NRI groups travelling Delhi, Agra and Jaipur for five to eight days value the cabin more each day. Our Golden Triangle tour by car and Rajasthan tour itineraries both work well in an Urbania.
Corporate delegations. Plant visits, client roadshows and conference transfers with a GST invoice for the company.
If your group is smaller and wants a boardroom on wheels, the Toyota Vellfire seats up to five in lounge chairs; if it is larger than 17, move up to a mini bus on rent.
Airport group pickups by Urbania in the big three metros
Delhi (IGI). International flights and many domestic ones use Terminal 3, with some domestic flights at Terminal 1. The van waits in the commercial pickup zone while the driver meets you at the arrival exit with a name board. Hotels in Aerocity are a few minutes away; central Delhi and Gurgaon fall within the 40 km transfer.
Mumbai (BOM and Navi Mumbai). At BOM, Terminal 2 handles international and most domestic flights. Traffic between the airport and South Mumbai can double journey times at peak hours, so we plan pickups with a buffer. Transfers from the Navi Mumbai airport to western suburbs beyond 40 km are priced on actual distance.
Bangalore (BLR). Kempegowda airport sits well north of the city, and the drive to Whitefield, Electronic City or the southern suburbs often exceeds 40 km, so most transfers are billed partly on distance. Late-night arrivals are common and the airport road is usually clear then.
At every airport, free waiting is 60 minutes after international arrivals and 30 minutes after domestic ones, after which waiting is charged at the hourly rate on your booking.
Destination wedding plan: three days in Udaipur
A family flies 24 guests into Udaipur for a lakeside wedding and books two 13 seat Urbanias for the three days.
- Day 1: airport pickups in two waves, check-in, and the mehendi at a garden venue near Fateh Sagar.
- Day 2: a morning boat ride on Lake Pichola and City Palace visit for guests who want it, then the sangeet at the hotel.
- Day 3: the wedding at a palace venue and the late-night return to hotels, then next-morning airport drops.
Because the work stays in the city, each van is booked on 8 hour / 80 km days at Rs 27,000 Pay Now to Reserve (Udaipur is at the base city rate), so two vans for three days come to Rs 1,62,000 Pay Now to Reserve, with extra hours for the wedding night agreed in advance. Add parking and 5% GST; no night allowance applies when the vans are locally based. Couples can pair the vans with a decorated car from luxury car rental or our wedding range.
Corporate roadshows and plant visits
A foreign delegation touring suppliers around Pune, Chennai's automotive belt or the Gurgaon-Manesar corridor needs a vehicle that doubles as a meeting room between stops. The Urbania's individual seats, USB points and quiet cabin make it a practical mobile base: laptops stay open, samples ride in the rear compartment, and nobody arrives creased from a cramped back row. We keep the same van and driver for a multi-day roadshow, send the driver's details a day ahead, and invoice the company with GST. For executives travelling separately, add a sedan or SUV from our corporate fleet on the same booking.
What to tell us when you book
- Number of travellers, including children, and whether anyone needs extra legroom or a front seat
- Luggage: count of large suitcases, cabin bags and anything unusual (wheelchairs, prams, equipment)
- Flight or train numbers for arrivals
- Every stop for the day, with map pins for hotels and venues
- Whether the van must stay with you all day or can drop and return
- Company name and GSTIN if you need a business invoice
With that, we can recommend the right Urbania version, price it accurately and brief the driver properly.
Urbania on rent near me: where vans are based
Urbanias are newer and fewer than Travellers, so they are concentrated where demand is steadiest: the Delhi NCR belt (Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida), Mumbai and Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Jaipur and Udaipur, Kochi and Goa. In these cities a booking a few days ahead is usually enough outside the peak seasons. In smaller cities we may reposition a van from the nearest hub; when that adds an empty run, we tell you before you pay and suggest a Traveller as an alternative if it makes more sense. Searching for a Force Urbania near you from a town not listed? Put your pickup address into the booker and we will check the closest van.
Saving money on an Urbania booking
- Match the version to the group. A 10 seater for nine people costs the same per km as a 17 seater; choose on comfort and luggage, not on price.
- Use one-way pricing. If you fly home from the far city, book the drive one way rather than as a round trip.
- Avoid dead days. On multi-day trips, each calendar day carries a 250 km minimum. A day spent entirely at a resort still counts, so release the van for those days where it makes sense.
- Start early. A departure at 5 am rather than 11 pm the night before can save a whole calendar day of minimum billing.
- Book early for peaks. Last-minute wedding-season requests may leave only larger or luxury vans, which can cost more.
Driver standards on Urbania hires
Urbania drivers are drawn from the more experienced end of our operators' rosters because the vans are used for airport, tourist and corporate work. You can expect a driver who reports early, keeps the van clean and cool, helps with luggage, knows the main highways and city routes, and keeps to speed limits. On multi-day trips he takes his own lodging from the night allowance and plans breaks with you. If anything falls short, tell the desk on WhatsApp during the trip rather than afterwards, so it can be fixed while you are still travelling.
Roads and conditions: where to take an Urbania
The Urbania is a highway and city van at heart. It is excellent on the Yamuna and Agra-Lucknow expressways, the Mumbai-Pune expressway, the Delhi-Jaipur highway, the Bangalore-Mysore road and the East Coast Road to Pondicherry. It handles Shimla, Mussoorie and Nainital comfortably with a patient driver.
On very steep, narrow roads with tight hairpins, such as parts of the upper Char Dham circuit or high passes in Himachal, a traditional Traveller or smaller SUVs can be more practical. We match vehicle to road when you share your itinerary, and we plan hill days so the van reaches the night halt before dark.
Availability is best in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Jaipur, Kochi and Goa. In smaller towns we may need a few days' notice to reposition a van, so book early. Our city pages for tempo travellers in Mumbai and Delhi list Urbania options alongside standard vans.
Booking an Urbania: steps, inclusions and cancellation
Use the online booker or WhatsApp the desk with dates, passenger count, luggage and route. You receive a written quote showing the seat version, fare basis and inclusions, and after paying an advance by card or UPI you get the van number and driver details the evening before travel.
The fare includes the van, diesel, the driver and air conditioning. It excludes 5% GST, tolls, state entry taxes where collected, parking, and the driver's night allowance on multi-day trips. On round trips the minimum is 250 km for every calendar day the van is with you, and every Urbania we supply is within four model years.
Plans change, so our cancellation terms are published: nothing is charged if you cancel more than 72 hours ahead, 10% applies inside 72 hours, 50% inside 48 hours and the full fare inside 24 hours or on a no-show.
Sample plan: five days in an Urbania from Delhi
To show how the numbers work across a longer booking, here is a simple five-day loop for a family of eleven, starting and ending in Delhi.
- Day 1, Delhi to Agra (about 233 km). Leave early on the Yamuna Expressway, check in, and see Agra Fort and Mehtab Bagh at sunset.
- Day 2, Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri (about 240 km). Taj Mahal at sunrise from the eastern gate, then the Mughal ghost city on the way west.
- Day 3, Jaipur sightseeing (about 60 km). Amer Fort in the cool of the morning, City Palace, Jantar Mantar and the bazaars around Hawa Mahal by afternoon.
- Day 4, Jaipur to Pushkar and back (about 290 km). Lake ghats and the Brahma temple, returning for dinner in Jaipur.
- Day 5, Jaipur to Delhi (about 280 km). Home by late afternoon, or dropped at IGI Airport for an evening flight.
Driven distance comes to about 1,103 km, which is below the five-day minimum of 1,250 km, so 1,250 km is billed: Rs 1,27,500 Pay Now to Reserve at Rs 102 per km. Add four night allowances of Rs 1,500, tolls, Rajasthan entry tax if collected, monument parking and 5% GST. Split eleven ways, the van costs under Rs 12,000 per person for the whole week, with every transfer door to door.
Travelling comfortably as a group
A few habits make long van days easier, whatever vehicle you book.
- Rotate seats. The front rows ride most smoothly. Swap every stop so grandparents and anyone prone to motion sickness get the forward seats on winding sections.
- Stop every two hours. Drivers do their best work with regular breaks; highway dhabas and fuel-station food courts on the main expressways are frequent and clean enough for tea and washrooms.
- Keep valuables with you. The driver stays with the van at most stops, but passports, jewellery and cash belong in your bag, not under a seat.
- Share the plan once. Give the driver the day's full list of stops in the morning. Changing direction every hour costs time and can push the van into city no-entry windows.
- Respect driving hours. Ask for an early start rather than a late finish; night driving on highways is slower, and in the hills we plan legs to finish before dark where possible.
Pilgrimages in an Urbania
Temple circuits suit the Urbania well when the group includes elders. Vrindavan and Mathura from Delhi, Haridwar and Rishikesh, Shirdi from Mumbai or Pune, and Tirupati from Chennai or Bangalore all run on good highways, and the reclining seats make early-morning starts for aarti or darshan far easier on older travellers, who can rest on the way there and sleep on the way back. Tell us the darshan or aarti time you are aiming for, and we will set the pickup to reach the temple comfortably early. For the high Himalayan shrines, read our Char Dham yatra guide first; on the steepest sections a traditional Traveller or SUVs may be the better vehicle.
Weather notes for Urbania trips
Summer heat. From April to June the plains of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi touch the mid-40s Celsius. This is where the Urbania's multi-zone AC earns its rate: the rear rows stay cool, and passengers arrive fresh rather than wilted. Start early and plan indoor sightseeing for the afternoon.
Monsoon. Between June and September, the sealed windows keep the cabin dry and quiet in heavy rain, but roads slow down. On the Mumbai-Pune expressway, the Konkan and Kerala's hill roads, add time to every leg.
Winter. North Indian fog from December to January slows early highway starts, and snow can close roads above Shimla and Manali. The Urbania's heating keeps the cabin comfortable on cold mornings; carry layers for stops.
Seasons and demand
Urbania vans are fewer than Travellers, so they go first. Wedding weekends between November and February, Diwali week, Christmas and New Year in Goa, and Holi long weekends are the tightest periods; book three to four weeks out. Summer holidays from mid-May to June bring family hill trips, and the monsoon quiets demand everywhere except Mumbai-Pune and Goa.
