Booking a Tempo Traveller in Goa is the simplest way to move a whole group between the beaches, the churches and the airport without splitting into four taxis and losing half of them at a petrol pump. RutzIndia.com supplies Force Travellers in 12, 17, 20 and 26-seat layouts with a chauffeur, fuel and air-conditioning included, bookable online for a full day, half a day, a one-way airport transfer or a multi-day trip into Karnataka or Maharashtra.
Tempo Traveller in Goa: what it costs in 2026
A Tempo Traveller in Goa costs from Rs 21,450 Pay Now to Reserve for a local day of 8 hours and 80 km, Rs 12,870 Pay Now to Reserve for 4 hours and 40 km, and Rs 11,790 Pay Now to Reserve for an airport transfer of up to 40 km. Outstation trips are billed at Rs 78 per km. All fares are before 5% GST, with tolls, permits and parking at actual cost.
Goa sits on a 1.10 city multiplier because the season is short, demand spikes hard around Christmas and New Year, and vehicles spend more of the year idle than they do in Delhi or Hyderabad. The per-km rate for outstation work does not change with the multiplier, so a run to Gokarna or Hampi is priced exactly as it would be anywhere else in India.
| Vehicle | Seats | 4 hr / 40 km | 8 hr / 80 km | Airport (up to 40 km) | Outstation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Force Tempo Traveller | 12 to 26 | Rs 12,870 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 21,450 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 11,790 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 78/km |
| Force Urbania | 10 to 17 | Rs 17,820 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 29,700 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 16,320 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 102/km |
| Mini bus | 20 to 35 | Rs 27,720 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 46,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 25,410 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 134.4/km |
| Luxury coach | 35 to 45 | Rs 47,520 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 79,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 43,560 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 210/km |
| Innova Crysta (for 6) | 6 | Rs 8,310 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 13,860 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 7,620 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 57.6/km |
The table gives planning prices in rupees before GST. Tolls, state entry permits and parking are added at actual cost, and on multi-day trips the driver's night allowance of Rs 1,500 per night is added too. When a local package runs over, extra kilometres are charged at the per-km rate and extra time at the hourly rate the booker shows. The fares page explains every line.

Per-km rate, daily minimum and allowance by seat size
The question most Goa groups ask first is simple: what does each size of van cost per kilometre, and what is the least we will pay for a day on the road? The table answers it for every group vehicle we run from Goa, and adds one real Goa example, a return day trip to Gokarna of about 300 km, so you can see the rate turned into a bill.
| Seats and layout | Vehicle | Rate per km | Minimum km per day | Least outstation day | Driver allowance per night | Goa to Gokarna and back (300 km) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 passengers, 2x1 maharaja seats | Force Traveller | Rs 78 | 250 | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 23,400 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 10 or 13 captain seats | Force Urbania | Rs 102 | 250 | Rs 25,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 30,600 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 12 seats, 2x1 standard | Force Traveller | Rs 78 | 250 | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 23,400 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 17 seats | Force Traveller | Rs 78 | 250 | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 23,400 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 20 seats | Force Traveller | Rs 78 | 250 | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 23,400 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 26 seats, long body | Force Traveller | Rs 78 | 250 | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 23,400 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 27 to 35 seats | Mini bus | Rs 130 | 250 | Rs 33,750 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 40,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
Three things follow from the table. First, the Traveller has a single per-km rate whatever its length, so a group of fourteen pays the same as a group of twenty-four for the same trip; it simply makes sense to book the body that fits. Second, the 250 km daily minimum only bites on short outstation days; for Gokarna, Hampi or Mahabaleshwar you usually drive more than that anyway. Third, the allowance is per night, not per day, and a one-day return carries none.
For long local days inside Goa, a 12-hour, 120 km block works out at one and a half times the 8-hour fare plus 40 extra kilometres at the per-km rate. For a Traveller that is Rs 21,450 Pay Now to Reserve x 1.5 + 40 x Rs 78 = about Rs 35,310 Pay Now to Reserve; for the Urbania about Rs 48,630 Pay Now to Reserve; for the mini bus about Rs 74,700 Pay Now to Reserve. Wedding shuttle days and New Year's Eve party runs are the usual reasons to book it. All figures are before 5% GST, with tolls, permits and parking extra at actual cost.
The 9, 12, 17, 20 and 26-seaters, one by one
Every Force Traveller we send in Goa is a high-roof body with air-conditioning vents over each row, push-back seats, a music system, reading lights and a rear boot or roof carrier. What changes with the seat count is length, luggage room and how easily the van turns into a beach lane.
9-seater: the maharaja layout for couples and elders
Nine passengers in a 12-seat body means wider 2x1 recliners with more legroom and space in the aisle for a cabin bag each. It is the favourite of retired couples on a winter holiday, honeymoon groups travelling together and families flying in from the Gulf with grandparents. The fare is the normal Traveller rate; you are paying for comfort, not for seats you leave empty. If you want the plushest ride over the Chorla or Amboli ghats, compare it with the 10-seat Force Urbania.
12-seater: the all-rounder for airport runs
This is the van to book when luggage matters: ten or twelve people, a suitcase each and a few surf or golf bags. It handles the Mopa link road and Porvorim traffic well and still fits most hotel porches in Candolim and Colva. For a detailed look at layouts and boot sizes see our national 12-seater Tempo Traveller page.
17-seater: bachelor weekends and office outings
Seventeen seats is where group fun starts to get economical. Split Rs 21,450 for a local day seventeen ways and you are at about Rs 1,260 a head. The trade-off is boot space, which stays roughly the same as the 12-seater, so it suits day plans with small bags: Baga and Anjuna on the first night, Chapora fort at sunset, a spice-farm lunch the next day.
20-seater: wedding guest loops
Twenty seats is the size most North Goa wedding planners ask for when guests are staying at two or three hotels near the venue. The van is long enough to move a family block in one loop but short enough to use the service lanes behind Siolim and Assagao villas, where many sundowner functions and mehendi lunches now happen.
26-seater: college trips, choirs and conference groups
The longest body carries a whole class or a conference breakout team. On the wide roads between Panaji, Dona Paula and the Bambolim convention hotels it is ideal. In the villages it is not: parts of Anjuna, Arambol and the lane down to Agonda are simply too tight. Our dispatcher will suggest two 12-seaters instead if your plan leans on those beaches, and for 27 to 35 people the mini bus on rent is cheaper per head than a 26-seater plus a car.

Standard, deluxe or Urbania: what you get for the money
- Standard Traveller: fabric push-back seats, roof AC ducts, luggage carrier. The workhorse for most bookings.
- Deluxe or maharaja interior: fewer, wider seats, mood lighting, sometimes a small screen; ask at booking and the desk tells you what is available on your date at the same per-km rate.
- Force Urbania: a newer monocoque van with independent suspension and a flat floor. On Goa's patched monsoon roads the difference in ride is real. It costs Rs 102 a kilometre and Rs 29,700 Pay Now to Reserve for a local day in Goa.
- Mini bus and coach: for 27 to 45, with a proper luggage hold. See bus on rent for the larger options.
Trip costs from Goa: seven destinations priced
The earlier trip list shows the popular circuits. This table works the numbers the other way round, as an estimated total including 5% GST and the chauffeur's night allowance, so a group treasurer can collect money in advance. Tolls, parking, state entry permits and any forest-jeep or boat tickets are still extra.
| From Goa to | Days | Kilometres billed | Traveller fare | Estimated total with GST and allowance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dudhsagar via Collem and back | 1 | 250 | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve | about Rs 20,490 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Amboli ghat waterfalls (monsoon) | 1 | 250 | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve | about Rs 20,490 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Dandeli river camp and back | 2 | 500 | Rs 39,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 35,625 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Gokarna and Murudeshwar | 2 | 500 | Rs 39,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 35,625 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Hampi, relaxed pace | 3 | 750 | Rs 58,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 54,200 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani | 3 | 800 | Rs 62,400 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 57,600 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mopa airport to Palolem, one way | transfer | 40 + about 70 | Rs 17,250 Pay Now to Reserve | about Rs 18,120 Pay Now to Reserve |
The Mopa to Palolem line shows how a long airport transfer is built: the airport fare of Rs 11,790 Pay Now to Reserve covers the first 40 km, and the balance of about 70 km is added at Rs 78 each.

Border permits for Karnataka and Maharashtra
A tourist vehicle registered in Goa that crosses into Karnataka for Gokarna, Hampi or Dandeli, or into Maharashtra for Amboli, Sawantwadi or Kolhapur, pays a state entry tax at the border check post. The chauffeur pays it, keeps the receipt and the amount appears on your bill at actual cost; nothing is marked up. Permit rules and fee schedules for commercial vehicles are set by the states and published through the national transport portal, Parivahan. Vehicles coming into Goa from other states also pay a Goa entry fee, which is one reason we base our Goa Travellers locally rather than sending them from Mumbai or Belagavi.
Areas we pick up from in Goa
Our chauffeurs collect groups from hotels, villas and homestays across both districts. The most requested pickup areas are:
- North Goa: Panaji, Porvorim, Mapusa, Calangute, Candolim, Sinquerim, Baga, Arpora, Anjuna, Assagao, Vagator, Siolim, Morjim, Ashwem, Mandrem, Arambol, Pernem
- Central Goa: Old Goa, Ribandar, Dona Paula, Bambolim, Ponda, Divar
- South Goa: Vasco da Gama, Bogmalo, Dabolim, Margao, Majorda, Colva, Benaulim, Varca, Cavelossim, Mobor, Agonda, Palolem, Canacona
Send the exact property name and a map pin; villa clusters in Assagao and Siolim often share one gate, and the van needs to know which lane to take.
What is on board, and what is not
Each Goa Traveller carries a first-aid kit, a fire extinguisher, a working AC, charging points in most rows and a clean interior checked before every duty. Drinking water is carried for the chauffeur; the group should bring its own, or ask the travel desk to add a case. Alcohol is not consumed in the vehicle under any circumstances, a rule that saves a lot of arguments at 2 am after a Baga night; the chauffeur can stop anywhere safe for the group to finish drinks outside. Smoking is not allowed inside either. Wet swimwear goes in a bag, not on the seat.
Groups that book Travellers in Goa most often
- Destination weddings: guest shuttles between North Goa villas and venues on the Mandovi or in Siolim, plus airport arrivals at Mopa and Dabolim. The couple's car comes from our luxury car rental in Goa fleet or the national wedding car rental team.
- Company offsites and incentive trips: conference hotels around Dona Paula and Cavelossim, with sightseeing afternoons; a GST invoice goes to the company, and repeat clients can use corporate car rental billing.
- Friends' trips and bachelor weekends: mostly 12 to 20 seats, mostly North Goa nights.
- Church and pilgrim groups: Old Goa's Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral, the Shanta Durga and Mangeshi temples near Ponda, and the St Francis Xavier feast in early December.
- School and college tours: 26-seaters for Old Goa and the museums in Panaji.
For smaller parties, a sedan or Innova through our Goa car rental with driver is the better fit.
Seat options: which Traveller suits your Goa group
A 12-seat Traveller is the workhorse for a family reunion or a bachelor party of ten with luggage. It has a rear boot big enough for ten medium suitcases if nobody packs a surfboard. If you are a group of exactly nine or ten and want more comfort per head, the 12-seater Tempo Traveller page explains the 1x1 and 2x1 "maharaja" seat layouts that some bodies offer.
The 17-seat and 20-seat versions suit office offsites and wedding guest shuttles, where people travel light between a hotel in Candolim and a venue in Siolim. The 26-seater is the longest body and makes sense for a college trip or a choir; it is also the one that struggles most in the narrow lanes behind Anjuna and Assagao, so we plan routes around that.
If the group values a smoother ride and more headroom, the Force Urbania is a newer monocoque van with a flat floor, captain-style seats and better suspension. For 25 to 35 people the mini bus is cheaper per head than two Travellers, and for a full wedding baraat or conference group the Volvo-class coaches seat up to 45.
Pickup points across North and South Goa
Goa is small on the map and slow on the road. A driver starting from Panaji covers the northern beaches easily, but a pickup in Palolem and a drop in Morjim can eat half the day. Tell us where the group actually sleeps and the booker places the vehicle accordingly.
- Manohar International Airport, Mopa (GOX): in Pernem, North Goa. Typically about 35 to 45 minutes to Calangute and Baga via the new link road and the NH66 bridge over the Chapora.
- Dabolim Airport (GOI): near Vasco da Gama in the south-central belt. Typically about 30 minutes to Panaji and 25 minutes to Colva or Majorda.
- Madgaon (Margao) and Thivim railway stations: the two Konkan Railway stops most groups use; Karmali serves Old Goa and Panaji.
- Beach belts: Candolim, Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Vagator and Morjim in the north; Colva, Benaulim, Cavelossim, Varca and Palolem in the south.
- Panaji and Porvorim: hotels, casinos on the Mandovi and conference venues at Dona Paula and Bambolim.
Airport pickups include flight tracking and a name board at arrivals. We allow 60 minutes of free waiting after an international landing and 30 minutes after a domestic one; after that the waiting is billed at the hourly rate. If your group lands on two different flights, book two transfers or add a waiting block; one van cannot sit at Mopa for three hours for free.
Group trips from Goa with distances
Most groups book a Traveller for a full day and do one theme at a time. These are the circuits our chauffeurs run most, with typical distances from Panaji.
North beaches and forts (about 70 to 90 km in a day)
Fort Aguada, Candolim, Calangute, Baga, Anjuna flea market on Wednesdays, Vagator and Chapora Fort for the sunset. This fits the 8 hr / 80 km package at Rs 21,450 Pay Now to Reserve if the group keeps lunch to one stop.
Old Goa, Divar and the spice farms (about 80 km)
Old Goa is about 10 km from Panaji. The Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral belong to the UNESCO-listed Churches and Convents of Goa; the state Department of Tourism publishes visiting notes for the Old Goa complex. Add the ferry to Divar island and a spice plantation lunch near Ponda, roughly 30 km inland, and the day closes neatly under 80 km.
Dudhsagar falls (about 120 to 130 km round trip)
The drive runs east to Collem near Mollem National Park, about 60 km from Panaji. From Collem the last stretch to the falls is by the licensed forest jeeps only, so the Traveller waits at the base. Because this exceeds 80 km, it is billed either as an 8-hour package plus extra kilometres or at the per-km rate, whichever the booker shows as lower. The falls are closed to jeeps in the heaviest monsoon weeks; check before you plan.
South Goa and Cabo de Rama (about 140 km)
Colva, Benaulim, Cabo de Rama fort and Palolem make a long day. Groups staying in the north usually do better booking this as two half-days from a South Goa hotel.
Outstation trips by Tempo Traveller from Goa
Goa borders Karnataka and Maharashtra, and a lot of our Traveller work crosses a state line. Round trips are billed on the greater of actual kilometres or 250 km per calendar day, at Rs 78 per km.
- Goa to Gokarna and back (about 300 km, 1 day): 300 km x Rs 78 = Rs 23,400 Pay Now to Reserve, plus the Karnataka entry permit at actual cost.
- Goa to Hampi and back (about 680 km, 2 days): 680 km x Rs 78 = Rs 53,040 Pay Now to Reserve, plus one driver night allowance and permits.
- Goa to Belagavi (Belgaum) airport or station: often cheaper flights; about 100 km each way.
- Mumbai to Goa one way (590 km): Rs 46,020 Pay Now to Reserve in a Traveller. Many groups prefer to fly and let us meet them at Mopa instead; if you only need a car for four people, see the Mumbai to Goa taxi fares.
State permits for a tourist vehicle entering Karnataka or Maharashtra are paid at the border and passed on at actual cost with the receipt. The national highway network these runs use is managed by NHAI, and FASTag toll charges are also passed on at actual cost.
Seasons, festivals and Goa-specific rules
The tourist season runs from October to March. The last ten days of December are the tightest of the year, with Christmas, New Year's Eve parties and the music festivals pulling thousands of groups into North Goa at once. Book Travellers for those dates as early as you can; vehicles are finite and the ferry-and-bridge bottlenecks get worse every evening.
February brings the Goa Carnival parades in Panaji, Margao and Mapusa, and the wedding season from November to February means Saturday Travellers are often committed to guest shuttles. The monsoon, June to September, is quieter and greener; beach shacks close, seas are rough and some ghat roads get slippery, but spice farms, waterfalls and Old Goa are at their best.
Two Goa quirks are worth knowing. First, many beach roads have no space for a 26-seater to turn, so drop points are sometimes a short walk from the shack. Second, parking near Baga, Calangute and the Anjuna market is paid and sometimes informal; we pass on actual parking charges with receipts where they are issued. For wider sightseeing ideas, the Goa Tourism site lists festivals and events by month.
Mopa or Dabolim: choosing the airport for a group
Goa now has two commercial airports about 60 km apart, and the choice changes both the drive and the fare.
| If your group is staying in | Better airport | Typical drive | Traveller fare before GST |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arambol, Mandrem, Morjim, Ashwem | Mopa (GOX) | 25 to 40 minutes | Rs 11,790 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Anjuna, Vagator, Siolim, Assagao | Mopa (GOX) | 35 to 50 minutes | Rs 11,790 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Calangute, Baga, Candolim | Either; Mopa usually quicker off-peak | 45 to 60 minutes | Rs 11,790 Pay Now to Reserve, plus km beyond 40 |
| Panaji, Dona Paula, Old Goa | Dabolim (GOI) | 30 to 40 minutes | Rs 11,790 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Colva, Benaulim, Majorda, Varca | Dabolim (GOI) | 25 to 40 minutes | Rs 11,790 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Cavelossim, Agonda, Palolem | Dabolim (GOI) | 50 to 90 minutes | Rs 11,790 Pay Now to Reserve, plus km beyond 40 |
When a wedding or conference group has guests landing at both airports on the same day, we usually run one van per airport rather than one van shuttling between them; the 60 km connector would eat two hours and the free waiting window with it. Airport information, including terminal changes, is published for Dabolim by the Airports Authority of India.
A three-day Goa plan for a group of fifteen
Here is a plan that works for a family reunion or a friends' trip staying in Candolim, using one 17-seater and mixing packages so nobody pays for kilometres they do not use.
| Day | Plan | Package | Traveller fare |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mopa pickup, hotel check-in, Fort Aguada and Sinquerim at sunset | Airport transfer plus 4 hr / 40 km | Rs 11,790 Pay Now to Reserve + Rs 12,870 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 2 | Old Goa churches, Divar ferry, spice farm lunch at Ponda, Panaji's Fontainhas quarter at dusk | 8 hr / 80 km | Rs 21,450 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 3 | Anjuna flea market (Wednesdays), Vagator, Chapora fort, dinner in Assagao, then Mopa for a late flight | 12 hr / 120 km | about Rs 35,310 Pay Now to Reserve |
The three days come to about Rs 81,420 Pay Now to Reserve before GST for fifteen people, a little over Rs 5,400 a head for private transport throughout, with the same chauffeur each day if you ask for continuity.
Luggage, surfboards and wedding trunks
The boot of a standard Traveller takes about eight to ten medium suitcases; the roof carrier takes more under a waterproof cover, which matters in the June to September rains. Surfboards travel on the roof, strapped, and golf bags lie flat at the back. Wedding groups arriving with trunks of outfits and return gifts should book one extra 12-seater purely for luggage on the arrival and departure days; it is cheaper than squeezing people between cases for an hour. If a guest has a wheelchair, tell the desk: the Urbania's lower step and wider door make transfers much easier than the high Traveller entry.
Monthly and seasonal hire in Goa
Film crews shooting in the villages, event companies running December festival logistics and resort groups moving staff between properties often need a van for weeks, not days. For those, the monthly car rental with driver arrangement gives a fixed chauffeur, a fixed monthly kilometre allowance and a single GST invoice. Seasonal staff transport for hotels and villas can also be set up through our employee transport services team, with routes planned around shift changes rather than tourist hours.
Late nights, club runs and getting everyone home
Goa groups often want the van at 1 or 2 am, after a night at Baga, Vagator or a beach party in Morjim. That is fine, and a few habits make it smooth. Agree a single pickup point before the night starts, ideally on the main road rather than in the club lane, where police often stop vehicles from waiting. Share the chauffeur's name in the group chat so stragglers know whom to look for. Count heads before the van moves; the chauffeur will wait while you do. And remember that the night hours count within your package: a 4 pm to 2 am wedding-and-party day is ten hours, so book the 12-hour block rather than paying overtime on the 8-hour one.
Our chauffeurs do not drink on duty, keep to the speed limits on the Porvorim and Chapora bridges, and will not carry more passengers than there are seats, even for a short hop. If someone in the group is unwell, they will stop at the nearest open pharmacy or take the group to a hospital in Mapusa, Panaji or Margao.
Beach roads, bridges and Goa traffic windows
Goa's traffic is seasonal rather than daily. From mid-December to the first days of January the Calangute-Baga stretch, the Candolim main road and the Panaji approaches can stand still in the evenings, and the new Mopa link road fills with airport traffic around the morning and late-night flight banks. Build in thirty extra minutes for any airport run in that fortnight. In the monsoon the problem is different: potholes and flooded stretches on the NH66 near Verna and on village roads, where the chauffeur will slow right down. Outside those windows Goa driving is relaxed, and a Traveller moves easily between the two districts in about an hour and a half.
How booking works
- Choose the seat count, date and package on the online booker, or send the full itinerary to the travel desk for a multi-day plan.
- See the fixed fare before GST and pay by card or UPI. Companies can ask for a GST invoice in the company name.
- The driver's name and the vehicle number reach you the evening before; you can call us or WhatsApp the desk with changes.
- On the day, the Traveller reaches the first pickup 15 minutes early, and the chauffeur calls the group lead rather than each passenger, which keeps the morning calm when twenty people are still finding their sunglasses.
- For multi-day hire the same driver usually stays with the group; his room is arranged by him within the night allowance unless your hotel offers driver accommodation, in which case tell us and the allowance still applies as quoted.
Every vehicle is within four model years, air-conditioned, cleaned before each duty and driven by a verified chauffeur. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10% applies within 72 hours, 50% within 48 hours and 100% within 24 hours or for a no-show. The full cancellation policy covers changes of date. For smaller groups the Goa taxi service and Goa airport taxi pages list sedan and SUV fares, and wedding couples usually pair the guest Travellers with a car from our luxury car rental in Goa range.
