Taxi service in Hyderabad: fares at a glance
Our taxi service in Hyderabad starts at Rs 3,960 Pay Now to Reserve for a sedan transfer to or from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (up to 40 km). A half-day of four hours or 40 km is Rs 4,320 Pay Now to Reserve and a full eight-hour, 80 km day Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve. Outstation, a sedan is Rs 36/km and an Innova Crysta Rs 57.6/km. GST at 5%, tolls and parking are extra.
Hyderabad works at two speeds. The new city of HITEC City, Gachibowli and the Financial District runs on wide roads and the Outer Ring Road, while the Old City around Charminar, Laad Bazaar and Moazzam Jahi Market is a web of lanes where a local driver is worth his weight in biryani. RutzIndia.com gives you a private car and chauffeur for either, whether you need a Shamshabad airport pickup at 3 am, a day of client meetings or a pilgrimage drive to Srisailam or Yadagirigutta.
Hyderabad uses the base city multiplier of 1.00, so the local rates below match our national card.
| Vehicle class | Full day 8 hr/80 km | Half day 4 hr/40 km | Outside the city | RGIA transfer (up to 40 km) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sedan (Dzire, Amaze, Aura) | Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 4,320 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 36 per km | Rs 3,960 |
| MUV (Ertiga, Carens) | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 5,400 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 42 per km | Rs 4,950 |
| Premium sedan (City, Verna, Camry) | Rs 10,800 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 6,480 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 48 per km | Rs 5,940 |
| Innova Crysta / Hycross | Rs 12,600 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 7,560 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 57.6 per km | Rs 6,930 |
| Tempo Traveller | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 11,700 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 78 per km | Rs 10,740 |
| Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5, Audi A6 | Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 165.6 per km | Rs 20,640 |
Fares shown exclude 5% GST. We charge Outer Ring Road and highway tolls, interstate permits (for trips into Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka or Maharashtra) and parking at the actual amount. For outstation round trips the minimum is 250 km per calendar day, and overnight trips add Rs 1,500 a night for the chauffeur's stay and meals.

RGIA Shamshabad airport taxi: distances and pickup routine
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport lies south of the city at Shamshabad and is connected by the PV Narasimha Rao Expressway, an elevated road from Mehdipatnam to Aramghar, and by the Outer Ring Road for the western IT belt. The integrated terminal handles both domestic and international flights; the airport's official site lists airline counters and arrival gates.
Your chauffeur tracks the flight, meets you at arrivals with a name board and gives international arrivals a full hour of free waiting, domestic arrivals half an hour. Beyond that grace period, waiting is billed at the hourly rate, and we call before the meter starts.
| Pickup or drop area | Distance from RGIA (about) | Covered by airport fare |
|---|---|---|
| Aramghar, Attapur | 15 km | Yes |
| Mehdipatnam, Tolichowki | 22 km | Yes |
| Charminar, Old City | 23 km | Yes |
| Financial District, Gachibowli | 25-28 km | Yes |
| Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills | 30-32 km | Yes |
| HITEC City, Madhapur, Kondapur | 32-33 km | Yes |
| Begumpet, Somajiguda | 33 km | Yes |
| Secunderabad, Uppal | 38 km | Yes |
| Kukatpally, Miyapur | 40-45 km | Priced on distance |
| Kompally, Medchal | 50+ km | Priced on distance |
The expressway makes most of the city a 35-50 minute drive outside rush hour. Our dedicated Hyderabad airport taxi page goes deeper into night arrivals and group pickups.
Cab service in Hyderabad for sightseeing and errands
Local hire suits Hyderabad because the sights are spread out and parking near them is tight. A 4 hr/40 km sedan (Rs 4,320 Pay Now to Reserve) covers a trip to Golconda Fort and the Qutb Shahi Tombs, or an afternoon of pearl shopping at Pathergatti. An 8 hr/80 km day (Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve) lets you string together the classics:
- Charminar and Mecca Masjid in the early morning, before the Old City fills up
- Chowmahalla Palace and a walk through Laad Bazaar for bangles
- Salar Jung Museum on the Musi riverbank
- Lunch in Banjara Hills, then Golconda Fort for the late-afternoon light
- Hussain Sagar and Tank Bund at dusk, with a stop at Birla Mandir
Ramoji Film City, about 35 km east of the centre on the Vijayawada highway, takes most of a day by itself; book an 8 hour package and the driver waits while you tour. Check current opening days on the Telangana Tourism website. Longer stays, whether a month-long project or a family visit, are better served by car rental with driver in Hyderabad.

Outstation cabs from Hyderabad: Vijayawada, temples and weekend drives
Highways fan out from Hyderabad in every direction, and the per-km rates are the same everywhere: Rs 36 sedan, Rs 42 Ertiga, Rs 57.6 Innova Crysta, Rs 78 Tempo Traveller.
| Trip | About | Sedan fare | Innova fare | How it is billed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hyderabad to Vijayawada taxi, one way | 275 km | Rs 9,900 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 15,670 Pay Now to Reserve | Distance x rate |
| Vijayawada same-day return | 550 km | Rs 19,800 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 31,350 Pay Now to Reserve | Actual km (above 250 minimum) |
| Yadagirigutta temple day trip | about 130 km return | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 14,250 Pay Now to Reserve | 250 km daily minimum |
| Warangal heritage day | about 300 km return | Rs 10,800 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 17,100 Pay Now to Reserve | Actual km |
| Srisailam over two days | about 430 km return | Rs 18,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 28,500 Pay Now to Reserve | 500 km two-day minimum |
All amounts are before GST, tolls and permits, and the Srisailam figure adds one driver night allowance. The Srisailam road climbs through the Nallamala forest, where check-posts restrict night travel, so we plan departures to cross it in daylight. The Vijayawada highway (NH 65) is one of the busiest in the region around Sankranti in January, when thousands of families head home to coastal Andhra; book a week or more ahead for those dates. For multi-temple circuits, see our pilgrimage taxi page, and for the general rules read outstation cabs and one way taxi.
Business travel in HITEC City and the Financial District
The western corridor of HITEC City, Madhapur, Kondapur, Gachibowli, Nanakramguda and Kokapet is where most of our corporate bookings begin and end. A visiting delegation might land at RGIA, check in at a Gachibowli hotel, spend two days between campuses and fly out, all in one premium sedan or Innova with the same chauffeur. Every ride produces a GST invoice, and accounts with regular movement can switch to monthly billing through corporate car rental. Shift-based staff transport for tech and GCC campuses is covered by employee transport services.
Weekday traffic on the Mindspace, Biodiversity and Cyber Towers junctions peaks around 9-11 am and 6-9 pm, and the Outer Ring Road is usually the faster link between Gachibowli and the airport.

Festivals, seasons and road timing in Hyderabad
- Bonalu (July/August): processions to the Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad and the Lal Darwaza temple in the Old City close local roads on the main Sundays.
- Ganesh Chaturthi: the Khairatabad Ganesh and the immersion procession to Hussain Sagar shut Tank Bund and nearby roads for a day or more.
- Ramzan: the lanes around Charminar come alive late into the night; drivers drop you at the nearest open point and wait.
- Bathukamma and Dasara (September/October): heavy festival traffic, plus a rush of outstation bookings.
- Monsoon (June to September): sudden downpours flood underpasses at Begumpet and parts of the Old City, slowing airport runs.
- Wedding season (November to February): function halls in Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and along the ORR host back-to-back weddings; guest shuttles need early booking.
Neighbourhoods we cover
We pick up across the twin cities and the growing edges: Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Film Nagar, Madhapur, Kondapur, Gachibowli, Manikonda, Kokapet, Kukatpally, Miyapur, Ameerpet, Begumpet, Somajiguda, Himayatnagar, Abids, Koti, the Old City, Secunderabad, Tarnaka, Uppal, LB Nagar and Shamshabad. Railway pickups at Secunderabad, Nampally (Hyderabad Deccan), Kacheguda and Lingampally are routine.
Practical tips for the Old City, gated communities and long days
The Old City rewards patience. Cars cannot enter the pedestrian zone around Charminar, so your chauffeur drops you at the nearest permitted point, usually near Gulzar Houz or the Madina side, and parks where he can; share your phone number and he will come back to the same corner when you call. Weekday mornings are the easiest time to visit, while Friday prayers and festival evenings bring heavy crowds.
In the western suburbs, many families live in large gated communities in Kokapet, Narsingi, Tellapur and Gachibowli, where the security gate asks for a resident confirmation before a visitor car enters. Add your tower and flat number to the booking notes and, if possible, pre-approve the vehicle on your community app; it saves ten minutes on an early airport run.
For long days, remember that the chauffeur needs a meal break. On an 8 hr package we suggest pausing for lunch around midday, when the driver can eat nearby while you do the same. On outstation drives to Warangal, Srisailam or Vijayawada, highway dhabas and the Telangana tourism restaurants make convenient halts, and our drivers know the cleaner stops along NH 65 and NH 163. If you are travelling with elderly parents or small children, tell us at booking so we assign an Innova with easier access and plan more frequent breaks. Tolls on these highways are charged at actual cost, and the chauffeur keeps the receipts so every plaza appears on your final bill.
Groups, weddings and luxury cars
A Tempo Traveller seats 12 to 26 and costs Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve for a city day or Rs 78/km outside, making it the practical choice for family trips to Srisailam or office outings to Ananthagiri Hills; see tempo traveller in Hyderabad. For grand arrivals, wedding car rental in Hyderabad supplies decorated luxury cars and guest fleets, and luxury car rental in Hyderabad covers Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Range Rover for VIP movement. We only send cars no older than four model years, stretching to seven for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach.
Hyderabad hire packages: 4, 8 and 12 hours
Hyderabad's distances are generous. A day that begins with a Shamshabad arrival, moves to a Gachibowli office, then ends with dinner in the Old City can pass 100 km. For those long days the 12 hr/120 km package gives a single fixed price. It is calculated as one and a half times the 8 hour fare plus 40 km at the class's per-km rate, rounded to Rs 30. Hyderabad uses the base multiplier, and these fares were updated in September 2026.
| Hyderabad plan | Car | 4 hr / 40 km | 8 hr / 80 km | 12 hr / 120 km |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pearl shopping at Pathergatti and back | Dzire-class sedan | Rs 4,320 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,240 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Family trip to Golconda and the Qutb Shahi Tombs | Ertiga or Carens | Rs 5,400 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 15,180 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Consultant visiting three HITEC City clients | City, Verna or Camry | Rs 6,480 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 10,800 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 18,120 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Ramoji Film City with grandparents | Innova Crysta or Hycross | Rs 7,560 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,600 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 21,180 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Wedding party between hotel and function hall | Tempo Traveller | Rs 11,700 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 32,370 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Senior executive roadshow | Mercedes E-Class class | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 62,850 Pay Now to Reserve |
Choose by whichever limit you will reach first. A Charminar and Chowmahalla morning uses time but few kilometres, while a HITEC City to Secunderabad to Shamshabad circuit can use 80 km quickly. Over the package, extra hours and kilometres are charged at the rates shown in the booker when you confirm.
Per km cab rates in Hyderabad, with real examples
Every outstation trip is billed per kilometre at the national card. The table below turns those rates into two Hyderabad trips: the 275 km one way drop to Vijayawada, and a three-day Tirupati pilgrimage, which bills at least 750 km.
| Rate per km | Car class | Hyderabad to Vijayawada (275 km) | Three-day minimum (750 km) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rs 36 | Sedan | Rs 9,900 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 27,000 Pay Now to Reserve |

| Rs 48 | Premium sedan | Rs 13,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 36,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Rs 57.6 | Innova Crysta | Rs 15,670 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 42,750 Pay Now to Reserve |

| Rs 170 | Mercedes E-Class class | Rs 45,370 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,23,750 Pay Now to Reserve |
The Tirupati round trip is roughly 1,120 km, which is higher than the three-day minimum, so the actual distance is billed: Rs 40,320 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan or Rs 63,840 Pay Now to Reserve in an Innova Crysta, plus two night allowances. All figures exclude 5% GST, tolls and the Andhra Pradesh permit. Seats and luggage for every class are on the fleet page; for SUV comfort on long highway days see Fortuner on rent.

For flights into Shamshabad, book an airport transfer, Rs 3,960 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan within 40 km. For trains, a 4 hr/40 km package at Rs 4,320 Pay Now to Reserve is the better fit, because it covers a late-running train and your drive home without a separate waiting charge.

| East and South | Uppal, LB Nagar, Dilsukhnagar, Hayathnagar, Shamshabad | Landmark on the highway |
That is over forty named localities, and anything between them is covered at the same Hyderabad fares. For a closer look at the Old City before you go, the Charminar reference page has useful history.
Pre-booked car, app cab or self-drive in Hyderabad?
Hyderabad has good app-cab coverage, autorickshaws, the metro and self-drive rentals. Which is right depends on the trip.
| Trip | Pre-booked RutzIndia.com chauffeur | App cab | Self-drive |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 am flight from Kukatpally | Fixed fare, booked the night before | Depends on availability at that hour | Airport parking for days |
| Day of HITEC City meetings | One car, one driver, 8 or 12 hrs | New booking for each leg | Campus parking at each stop |
| Srisailam over two days | Chauffeur who knows the forest timings | Varies by app | You drive the ghat |
| Company billing | GST invoice every trip | App receipt | Rental invoice |
This is a guide to fit, not a ranking. For regular weekday use, compare monthly car rental with driver; for families of six, Innova Crysta on rent; and for visitors arriving from abroad, NRI car hire in India.
Food trail and night drives in Hyderabad
Many visitors come as much for the food as the monuments, and a car helps because the best places are spread across the city. A classic evening route begins with biryani in the Old City or on the Mehdipatnam side, continues to the Irani cafes near Charminar for chai and Osmania biscuits, and ends with a late drive past the lit-up Hussain Sagar and the Tank Bund. During Ramzan, the lanes around Charminar stay awake until the early hours with haleem stalls and night bazaars; the driver drops you at the nearest open corner and waits while you walk. Night drives are covered by the same hourly packages, so a 4 hr/40 km sedan at Rs 4,320 Pay Now to Reserve from 8 pm is enough for most food trails.
Day trips around Hyderabad: forts, weaves and a UNESCO temple
Telangana's countryside is full of short, rewarding drives that most visitors miss. Because a round trip bills at least 250 km for the day, anything closer than about 125 km each way costs the same flat day rate, Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan or Rs 14,250 Pay Now to Reserve in an Innova Crysta, before GST and tolls. That makes it easy to combine two nearby stops in one outing.
| Day trip | About from the city | Round trip billed | Sedan | Innova Crysta | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Keesaragutta temple | 40 km | 250 km minimum | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 14,250 Pay Now to Reserve | Hilltop Shiva shrine, crowded at Maha Shivaratri |
| Bhongir Fort | 50 km | 250 km minimum | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 14,250 Pay Now to Reserve | A steep climb up a single rock; go early |
| Pochampally handloom village | 50 km | 250 km minimum | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 14,250 Pay Now to Reserve | Ikat weaving workshops; combine with Bhongir |
| Ananthagiri Hills, Vikarabad | 80 km | 250 km minimum | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 14,250 Pay Now to Reserve | Forest trails and the Musi's source, best after the monsoon |
| Medak Cathedral | 100 km | 250 km minimum | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 14,250 Pay Now to Reserve | Large Gothic church, busy at Christmas |
| Ramappa Temple, Palampet | 210 km | 420 km actual | Rs 15,120 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 23,940 Pay Now to Reserve | UNESCO-listed Kakatiya temple; pair with Warangal Fort |
A popular pairing is Bhongir Fort in the cool of the morning followed by Pochampally in the afternoon, where weavers demonstrate the tie-and-dye ikat technique on their looms and sell sarees direct. Another is Ananthagiri Hills for a forest walk and lunch, returning through Chevella's farmland before dark. The longest and most rewarding is the Kakatiya heritage day: Warangal's Thousand Pillar Temple and fort, then Ramappa Temple, whose floating bricks and carved dancers earned it World Heritage status in 2021. Leave by 6 am for that one, because Ramappa is about four hours away and the temple closes in the evening.
On all these trips the chauffeur waits while you explore, parking is charged at actual cost, and entry tickets are yours to buy on the spot. Carry water and sun protection from March to June, when the Deccan plateau gets very hot by noon, and plan the climb at Bhongir or Keesaragutta for early morning. If you are travelling with elders, an Innova Crysta gives easier access and more legroom on the rural roads.
How to book and what the fare includes
Book in the online booker: pick the service, set pickup and drop, see the price and pay by card or UPI. The chauffeur's name and number reach you on WhatsApp in advance. Included: car, driver, fuel and the package kilometres. Not included: GST at 5%, tolls, permits, parking and night allowance. You can cancel at no cost while more than 72 hours remain before pickup; from 72 to 48 hours out the charge is 10%, from 48 to 24 hours it is half the fare, and inside the last 24 hours, or if nobody turns up, the whole fare is due. Our cancellation policy has the fine print.
