When you need a cab for full day inside one city, a metered ride-hail app is the wrong tool. Each hop means a fresh booking, a new driver, surge pricing at 6 pm and a wait outside every stop. The 8 hr / 80 km local package on RutzIndia.com works the other way round: one chauffeur and one clean car stay with you from the first pickup to the last drop, and the price is fixed before you confirm. A compact sedan for the whole day starts at Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve, and a half-day 4 hr / 40 km slot starts at Rs 4,320 Pay Now to Reserve.
What a full-day cab costs in 2026
A full-day cab (8 hours / 80 km) with driver costs Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve in a compact sedan such as a Swift Dzire, Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve in an Ertiga, Rs 10,800 Pay Now to Reserve in a Honda City and Rs 12,600 Pay Now to Reserve in an Innova Crysta, before 5% GST. Half day (4 hr / 40 km) starts at Rs 4,320 Pay Now to Reserve. Parking and tolls are billed at actual cost.
These are the Delhi base rates. Every city carries a small multiplier on local and airport packages because fuel, parking and driver wages differ: Mumbai and Goa run 10% above the base, Bangalore 5% above, Kolkata 5% below, Jaipur 5% below and Agra about 8% below. So the same Dzire for 8 hours costs Rs 7,920 Pay Now to Reserve in Mumbai, Rs 7,560 Pay Now to Reserve in Bangalore and Rs 6,840 Pay Now to Reserve in Jaipur. The booker shows the exact figure for your city the moment you pick a pickup address.
| Car class (example) | Seats | 4 hr / 40 km | 8 hr / 80 km | Extra km after package |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Compact sedan (Dzire, Amaze, Aura) | 4 | Rs 4,320 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 36/km |
| MUV (Ertiga, Carens) | 6 | Rs 5,400 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 42/km |
| Premium sedan (City, Verna, Camry) | 4 | Rs 6,480 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 10,800 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 48/km |
| Innova Crysta / Hycross | 6 | Rs 7,560 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,600 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 57.6/km |
| Premium SUV (Fortuner, Gloster) | 6 | Rs 13,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84/km |
| Luxury sedan (E-Class, 5 Series, A6) | 3 | Rs 22,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 165.6/km |
| Tempo Traveller (12-26 seat) | 16 | Rs 11,700 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 78/km |
All figures are before 5% GST. Tolls, state entry permits and parking are added at actual cost against receipts, never marked up.

How the 8 hours and 80 kilometres are counted
The clock starts when the car reaches your pickup point at the booked time, not when it leaves the garage, and it stops when you are dropped at your final address. The kilometre reading works the same way: garage-to-garage distance is not billed to you on a local package. That means a Gurgaon office day that begins at 9 am in Cyber City and ends at 5 pm at the same tower is exactly one package, whatever the car did before it reached you.
If you run over, you pay only for the overrun:
- Extra kilometres are charged at the per-km rate of the class you booked, so Rs 36 for each kilometre beyond 80 in a sedan and Rs 57.6 in an Innova Crysta.
- Extra hours are billed at one-eighth of the day package per hour, which works out to Rs 900 an hour for a Dzire, Rs 1,350 Pay Now to Reserve for a Honda City and Rs 1,570 Pay Now to Reserve for an Innova.
- Whichever limit you cross first is the one that counts. Ten hours and 70 km in a sedan means two extra hours (Rs 1,800) and no extra kilometres.
A quick example. A Pune family books a Dzire at 10 am for a wedding-shopping day on Laxmi Road, a lunch at Koregaon Park and a late visit to relatives in Wakad. They return at 8 pm with 94 km on the trip meter. The bill is Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve for the package, 2 extra hours at Rs 900 (Rs 1,800) and 14 extra km at Rs 36 (Rs 500), so Rs 9,500 plus parking receipts and 5% GST.
Tip: if you expect to cross 80 km (for example Delhi to Noida Film City and back twice), book the day as an outstation cab instead. Round-trip outstation hire is billed per km with a 250 km daily minimum, which is cheaper once a day stretches past about 150 km. Multi-day trips add a driver night allowance of Rs 1,500 per night.
Who books a cab for the whole day
Most people who ask us for an 8 hours 80 km car rental fall into one of a handful of patterns, and knowing yours helps you pick the right car and the right hour to start.
Business days and client visits
Sales teams in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai often have four or five meetings spread across the Outer Ring Road, HITEC City or the OMR corridor. A premium sedan waiting in the building's visitor bay costs less than five separate app rides at peak surge, and you can leave a laptop bag in the boot between meetings. Companies that do this several times a week usually move to our corporate car rental account for monthly GST billing.
Hospital days for elderly parents
A day at AIIMS, Tata Memorial or a large private hospital can involve registration, scans, a consultant and a pharmacy queue with long gaps in between. A driver who stays, helps with the wheelchair at the kerb and knows where the drop-off lane is makes the day far less tiring. Ask for an Ertiga or Innova if a folding wheelchair needs to travel in the boot.
Wedding shopping and family functions
November to February is wedding season across North India, and a single lehenga trip to Chandni Chowk, Karol Bagh or Johari Bazaar can eat an entire day. A full-day car with driver lets the family shop in shifts while the car circles or waits in a paid lot. For the ceremony itself, see our wedding car rental packages, which are decorated and timed differently.
Tourists seeing one city properly
A first visit to Delhi fits Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate and Old Delhi into a long day if the car is yours throughout. The official Delhi Tourism site lists monument timings and closed days so you can plan the order. In Jaipur, Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, City Palace and Hawa Mahal fit a day at the city's lower rate. Visitors landing in the morning can combine an airport taxi pickup with the day package so the driver is already assigned.

Choosing the right car for a local day
The cheapest class is not always the best buy. Here is how we would match a day to a car:
- One or two people, city errands: a Dzire at Rs 7,200 Pay Now to Reserve. Boot space holds two cabin bags or a pram.
- Three or four adults who want legroom, or a client meeting: a Honda City, Verna or Camry at Rs 10,800 Pay Now to Reserve. Rear seats recline slightly more and the ride is quieter on concrete highways.
- A family of five or six with shopping bags: an Ertiga at Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve or an Innova Crysta at Rs 12,600 Pay Now to Reserve. The Innova's captain seats and better suspension matter on long days.
- Senior executives, a board meeting or a wedding guest of honour: a Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series or Audi A6 at Rs 37,500 Pay Now to Reserve for the day. See luxury car rental for flagship S-Class and Range Rover options.
- A group of 10 to 20 people on a city tour or venue shuttle: a Tempo Traveller at Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve, or an Urbania at Rs 27,000 Pay Now to Reserve if you want a flatter floor and larger windows.
Every car we send is within four model years of age, which matters for air-conditioning performance in a Delhi May or a Chennai June. Seat belts in the rear are fitted and working; please ask your children to use them.
What is included and what is not
Included in every local package:
- A uniformed chauffeur who knows the city and speaks Hindi or the local language plus working English.
- Fuel for the included 80 km (or 40 km on a half day) and the driver's wages for the included hours.
- Air-conditioning throughout, bottled water, a phone charger and an umbrella in the boot during monsoon.
- A digital trip sheet with start and end times and odometer readings, emailed with the GST invoice.
Not included and billed at actual cost:
- Parking fees at malls, airports, hospitals and monuments.
- Tolls, for example on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, the Bandra-Worli Sea Link or the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link.
- State entry tax or permit if the day takes the car across a state line, such as Delhi to Noida or Gurgaon, or Chandigarh to Mohali and Panchkula.
- Anything you ask the driver to buy or pay on your behalf, such as monument tickets.
One practical point about parking. In central Mumbai, South Delhi markets and Bangalore's MG Road area, paid lots fill up by noon. Your chauffeur will drop you at the kerb and circle or wait in the nearest legal lot; please keep the driver's WhatsApp handy so the car can be called round when you are ready.

How booking a cab for full day works
- Open the online booker, choose "Local 8 hr / 80 km" or "4 hr / 40 km", enter your city, pickup address and start time.
- Pick a car class. The price for your city is shown instantly, before GST.
- Pay a deposit by UPI, card or net banking through the secure booker, or ask for credit terms if you are a company.
- You receive the chauffeur's name, car number and WhatsApp contact the evening before, or about two hours before pickup for same-day bookings.
- At the end of the day the trip sheet closes, any extra hours or kilometres are added, and the final GST invoice arrives by email.
You can book as late as a few hours ahead in the major metros, though for Saturdays in wedding season and for Diwali week we suggest at least two days' notice. Changing the start time by up to an hour is free if you tell the desk before the driver leaves for pickup.
Cancellation
Free cancellation up to 72 hours before pickup. Inside 72 hours a 10% fee applies, inside 48 hours 50%, and inside 24 hours or on a no-show the full amount is charged. The complete wording is on our cancellation policy page.
Local hire in the cities we cover
The 8 hr / 80 km product runs in every city on RutzIndia.com, but each city has its own rhythm. In Delhi, avoid starting a south-to-north crossing between 9 and 11 am; the Ring Road and Outer Ring Road slow sharply. Our Delhi car rental with driver page has city-specific rates. In Mumbai, the local package often suits a South Mumbai to Bandra Kurla Complex day, and the Western Express Highway is quietest before 8 am; see Mumbai car rental with driver. In Bangalore, 80 km disappears quickly if you cross from Whitefield to Electronic City and back, so check the Bangalore page and consider booking extra kilometres up front. In Hyderabad and Chennai, the IT corridors are well served and traffic eases after 8 pm.
If you land and want the same driver to take you into town and then stay on for the day, book the airport transfer and the local package together. International arrivals get 60 minutes of free waiting from the actual landing time and domestic arrivals get 30 minutes, because we track the flight rather than the timetable. After that, waiting is billed at the hourly rate above.
For stays of several weeks, a monthly car rental with driver usually works out better than booking day after day. And if your plans stretch to a day trip beyond the city, say Mumbai to Lonavala or Delhi to Agra, the outstation cab rate card applies instead of the local package.

Longer days: 12 hours / 120 km and hourly rates by class
Some days simply do not fit into eight hours: a wedding with a mehendi in the afternoon and a sangeet at night, a factory audit an hour out of town, or a sightseeing day that starts at sunrise. There is no separate 12-hour product to learn; the day is the 8 hr / 80 km package plus four extra hours and 40 extra kilometres at the published overrun rates. The table works it out for every class so you can compare before booking.
| Vehicle class | Per extra hour | Per extra km | 12 hr / 120 km day, worked out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Swift Dzire / Amaze / Aura | Rs 900 | Rs 36 | Rs 12,240 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Ertiga / Carens | Rs 1,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 42 | Rs 15,180 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Honda City / Verna / Camry | Rs 1,350 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 48 | Rs 18,120 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Innova Crysta / Hycross | Rs 1,570 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 57.6 | Rs 21,180 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Fortuner / Gloster / Meridian | Rs 2,810 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 84 | Rs 37,110 Pay Now to Reserve |
| E-Class / 5 Series / A6 | Rs 4,690 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 170 | Rs 62,850 Pay Now to Reserve |
| GLS / X7 / Q7 / Range Rover | Rs 7,130 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 230 | Rs 94,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Vellfire / Carnival Limousine | Rs 6,750 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 210 | Rs 89,400 Pay Now to Reserve |
| S-Class / 7 Series | Rs 12,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 330 | Rs 1,57,200 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Tempo Traveller 12-26 seat | Rs 2,440 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 78 | Rs 32,370 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Force Urbania | Rs 3,370 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 102 | Rs 44,580 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mini bus, 20-35 seat | Rs 5,250 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 130 | Rs 68,400 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Volvo / Scania coach | Rs 9,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 210 | Rs 1,16,400 Pay Now to Reserve |
Figures are Delhi base rates before 5% GST; multiply local and hourly figures by your city's factor below. Per-km rates are the same everywhere, because fuel and distance cost the same in Pune as in Patna. Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Maybach and vintage cars are quoted on request.
A realistic 8-hour day in five different cities
Eighty kilometres goes further in some cities than others. These sample days show roughly how much of the allowance a typical sightseeing loop uses, so you know whether to book extra kilometres up front. Distances are approximate and depend on your hotel.
- Mumbai, about 45 km. Gateway of India and the Taj Mahal Palace facade, the Kala Ghoda galleries, a drive along Marine Drive, Haji Ali Dargah at low tide, then Bandra's Bandstand promenade. Allow extra time on the Sea Link approach in the evening.
- Bangalore, about 40 km. Lalbagh's glasshouse in the morning, Vidhana Soudha from the outside, Bangalore Palace, then shopping on Commercial Street or Church Street. Our Bangalore car rental with driver page adds ORR and airport notes.
- Hyderabad, about 50 km. Charminar and Laad Bazaar before noon, Golconda Fort in the afternoon, and Hussain Sagar at sunset. See car rental with driver in Hyderabad.
- Chennai, about 35 km. Kapaleeshwarar Temple in Mylapore, San Thome Basilica, Fort St George, and an evening on Marina or Besant Nagar beach. The Chennai car rental with driver page lists OMR office pickups too.
- Kolkata, about 35 km. Victoria Memorial, St Paul's Cathedral, Kalighat, a crossing of Howrah Bridge and dinner on Park Street, at the city's 5% lower rate. See Kolkata car rental with driver.
On all of these, the car waits while you are inside a monument or a restaurant, which is where the package earns its money compared with booking point-to-point rides.
Full-day hire compared with app cabs, metro and self-drive
Every option has a place. A fair comparison, based on how each one works rather than on anyone's marketing:
| Option | How you pay | Waiting between stops | Luggage and shopping | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| RutzIndia.com 8 hr / 80 km | One fixed package, known before booking | Included, same car and driver all day | Stays in the boot | Multi-stop days, families, meetings |
| App cab, ride by ride | Per ride, price varies with demand | Not included; new booking each stop | Must be carried each time | One or two short hops |
| Metro plus walking | Per journey, low cost | Not applicable | Carried throughout | Solo travel on metro corridors |
| Self-drive rental | Daily rent plus fuel and deposit | You park and look for space yourself | Stays in the boot | Confident drivers who know the city |
The metro is excellent value where it reaches: Delhi's network, for example, connects the airport line, Connaught Place and Gurgaon, and its routes and timings are on the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation site. Many visitors combine the two, taking the metro for a single long hop and keeping a car for the rest of the day.
Crossing a state line on a local day
Several of India's largest urban areas spread across more than one state or union territory. The National Capital Region takes in Delhi, Haryana (Gurgaon, Faridabad) and Uttar Pradesh (Noida, Ghaziabad). Chandigarh's tricity covers the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Punjab (Mohali) and Haryana (Panchkula). Bangalore's southern edge touches Tamil Nadu at Hosur.
Commercial taxis in India run on permits issued by a state transport authority. Since April 2021, operators can also obtain an all-India tourist authorisation under rules notified by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways; the notifications are published on the MoRTH website. Depending on how a particular car is registered and permitted, crossing a border can still mean a one-time entry tax or permit fee, paid at the check post or online. On a local package we handle this in a simple way:
- The booker flags any pickup or drop in a second state when you enter the addresses.
- The desk confirms, before the day, whether the assigned car will attract an entry charge on that route.
- Any charge actually paid is added to your invoice at cost, with the receipt, never as a flat estimate.
In practice, most NCR office days (Delhi to Cyber City, Delhi to Noida Sector 62) and Chandigarh-Mohali-Panchkula loops are normal local packages with, at most, one border receipt.
Local package rates in all 27 cities
Local and airport fares carry a city factor; per-km outstation rates do not. Here is the 4 hr / 40 km and 8 hr / 80 km price in every city we serve, with a link to each city's taxi page for airports, localities and routes.
All prices before 5% GST, rounded to the nearest rupee. Hill cities such as Shimla and Manali use the same package structure, but steep gradients burn through the kilometre allowance slowly and the hours quickly, so book with extra time in mind.
Safety, conduct and the small things
Our chauffeurs are verified through police checks and licence validation before they drive for RutzIndia.com, and every car carries valid commercial registration, fitness and permit papers that you can ask to see. Vehicle registration details can be cross-checked on the government Parivahan portal. Drivers do not smoke in or near the car, do not take calls while driving, and do not pick up anyone else during your package. If you want the radio off, the windows up or the AC set to a specific temperature, just say so.
If something goes wrong, for example a puncture on the way to a meeting, the desk sends a replacement car of the same class or better and the lost time is not billed. You can reach the desk by WhatsApp or call us through the number shown in your booking confirmation.
For airport-linked plans in the capital, the official Delhi Airport website is the best place to check which terminal your airline uses before you give the driver a pickup point.
