Anyone who has sat at the Silk Board junction at 6 pm knows that a day in Bengaluru is measured in traffic, not kilometres. That is exactly why car rental with driver in Bangalore is priced by time. You book a car and a chauffeur for 4 hours, 8 hours or a long 12-hour day, and the car is yours for every stop in between: the airport, a tech park on the Outer Ring Road, a lunch in Indiranagar, a silk-saree hunt in Chickpet. RutzIndia.com quotes each package in rupees before you pay, and switches to per-km billing only when you head out of the city towards Mysore, Coorg or Ooty.
Car rental with driver in Bangalore: how much is it?
A chauffeur-driven Dzire in Bangalore is Rs 7,560 Pay Now to Reserve for 8 hours / 80 km and Rs 4,530 Pay Now to Reserve for 4 hours / 40 km. An Ertiga is Rs 9,450 Pay Now to Reserve for the day, an Innova Crysta Rs 13,230 Pay Now to Reserve and a Mercedes E-Class Rs 39,360 Pay Now to Reserve. Fares exclude 5% GST; airport-road tolls and parking are charged at actual cost.

Where the hours go: ORR, Silk Board and the airport road
Most visitors underestimate two things about Bangalore. The first is the airport. Kempegowda International at Devanahalli sits roughly 35 to 40 km north of MG Road and farther still from Whitefield or Electronic City, so a single airport leg can use up half of a 4-hour package. The second is the Outer Ring Road. The stretch from Hebbal through Marathahalli and Bellandur to Silk Board carries a large share of the city's tech workforce, and during the morning and evening peaks a 10 km hop can take the better part of an hour.
What that means in practice: an 8 hr / 80 km day is rarely short of kilometres in Bangalore, but it is often short of hours. If your plan starts with an airport pickup and ends with dinner on the other side of the city, book the 12-hour day. There is no mystery in its price: take the full-day fare and add four hours and 40 km at the usual overage rates, giving Rs 12,780 Pay Now to Reserve in a Dzire and Rs 22,140 Pay Now to Reserve in an Innova Crysta.
A worked example: an Innova Crysta collects a visiting team from the airport at 7 am, drops them at Manyata Tech Park, takes them to Whitefield after lunch and back to a hotel on MG Road by 5 pm. That is about 105 km and ten hours. The bill is Rs 13,230 Pay Now to Reserve for the package, two extra hours at about Rs 1,650 each, and 25 extra km at Rs 57.6, so roughly Rs 17,950 Pay Now to Reserve before GST, the airport-road toll and parking.
Tech-park days, visiting teams and airport pickups
For companies, the pattern is predictable: consultants and auditors who need to be in Whitefield in the morning, Electronic City after lunch and Koramangala for dinner; investors doing back-to-back founder meetings in HSR Layout and Indiranagar; engineering managers bringing in a team from overseas for a week. A dedicated car with driver removes the daily scramble of booking rides for each person and each leg.
When your day starts with a landing, the chauffeur tracks the flight into BLR, meets you in the arrivals hall holding a card with your name. Passengers off international flights have a free hour to clear immigration and collect bags, domestic passengers thirty minutes, and only after that does waiting start to count against your booking. The Bengaluru airport website publishes terminal information and live flight status that is worth checking before you set the pickup time. A standalone transfer, without a day's hire after it, is usually better value through our Bangalore airport taxi page.
Firms with steady usage can open an account that bills every car on one GST invoice at the end of the month; the corporate car rental page describes how that works. If the need is daily shift transport for staff rather than executive travel, look at employee transport services instead.

Hired chauffeur, self-drive or ride-hailing in Bangalore?
Self-drive has its fans in Bangalore, especially for weekend road trips, and for a confident driver who knows the city it can make sense. For visitors and for working days it is harder to justify. You need to navigate one-ways around Brigade Road and Commercial Street, find parking in Koramangala or at a busy mall, and keep your eyes on two-wheelers weaving through every gap. You also hold the damage and challan liability.
Ride-hailing is cheap for a single journey, and our own Bangalore taxi service covers point-to-point rides at fixed fares. The case for hiring by time appears when the day has several stops or long waits. Every new app ride means a new pickup wait, and on rainy evenings prices rise and cars disappear. With a chauffeur on a package, your laptop and shopping stay in the car, and the next leg starts the moment you walk out of the building.
| Deciding factor | Self-drive rental | Ride-hailing app | Chauffeur on a RutzIndia.com package |
|---|---|---|---|
| Morning crawl from Hebbal to Marathahalli | You sit at the wheel | You sit in a new car each leg | You take calls in the back seat |
| Kempegowda airport runs of 35-40 km | Fuel and airport parking on you | Separate fare each way | Part of your package hours and km |
| Evening downpour on the ORR | You drive through flooded underpasses | Cars vanish, prices rise | Same fare, car already with you |
| Parking at Indiranagar, Koramangala or a mall | Paid and hard to find | Not needed, but you wait for the next car | Chauffeur drops at the door, waits nearby |
| Deposit and documents | Deposit, licence and ID checks | App account | Booking confirmation only |
| Luggage and laptops between meetings | In your car | Out with you every stop | Locked in the boot |
| Best fit | Locals on a relaxed weekend | Single short journeys | Visitors, teams, families, long days |
Railway stations and medical visits
Bengaluru now has four main long-distance railway stations, and picking up at the wrong one is an easy mistake. KSR Bengaluru City (Majestic) is in the old centre beside the main bus stand; Yeshwanthpur is in the north-west; Bengaluru Cantonment is close to Shivajinagar and the central hotels; and the Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal at Baiyappanahalli serves the east, near Whitefield and the Old Madras Road. Give the desk your train and coach and the chauffeur meets you at the right entrance with a name board, and the package begins at the time you set.
Bangalore is also a major medical destination for patients from across India and abroad. Families travelling to the hospital campuses on Hosur Road, Bannerghatta Road, Old Airport Road or in Whitefield often need a car for the whole day: out-patient consultations, scans, a pharmacy stop and a return to the guest house. An 8-hour package keeps the car air-conditioned and ready at the entrance, and the chauffeur can collect medicines or meals while the patient rests. For extended treatment stays, ask about a week-long booking with the same driver, which is much easier on elderly patients than a new face every day.

Shopping and sightseeing days in the city
A relaxed sightseeing day in Bengaluru can cover the glasshouse and gardens at Lalbagh, Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, the Bull Temple and Dodda Ganesha in Basavanagudi, a walk under the trees in Cubbon Park past the Vidhana Soudha, and Bangalore Palace in the afternoon, with ISKCON in Rajajinagar at dusk. None of those places has easy parking, and that is the point of having a chauffeur: he drops you at the gate and waits nearby. The Karnataka Tourism site lists timings and entry details for the major palaces and gardens.
Shopping follows its own geography. Silk and wedding saris mean Chickpet and the stores around Malleshwaram; fashion and street shopping mean Commercial Street and Brigade Road; and the big malls sit in Whitefield, Malleswaram and Hebbal. Families shopping for a wedding often book an Innova Crysta for 12 hours on two or three consecutive days, and when the functions arrive, decorated cars come from the wedding car rental in Bangalore page. For milestone events or executive guests, the luxury car rental in Bangalore fleet starts at the E-Class.
A popular half-day extension is Nandi Hills for sunrise, about 60 km north of the city. The round trip pushes past the 80 km limit, so it is billed as a local day plus extra kilometres, typically about Rs 9,000 in a Dzire before GST.
Five Bengaluru days and what they cost
Rates come from the table above; tolls, parking and 5% GST are added at cost.
| Day plan | Car | Hours and km | How it is billed | Fare before GST |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airport at 7 am, Manyata, Whitefield, MG Road hotel | Innova Crysta | 10 hr, about 105 km | 8 hr plus 2 hours and 25 km | about Rs 17,950 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Cubbon Park, Lalbagh, Bangalore Palace, Commercial Street | Dzire | 7 hr, about 40 km | 8 hr package | Rs 7,560 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Nandi Hills sunrise and back for breakfast | Dzire | 6 hr, about 130 km | 8 hr plus 50 km | about Rs 9,360 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Wedding shopping in Chickpet and Malleshwaram | Innova Crysta | 12 hr, about 55 km | 12 hr package | Rs 22,140 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Electronic City plant audit and HSR Layout dinner | Premium sedan | 9 hr, about 70 km | 8 hr plus 1 hour | about Rs 12,750 Pay Now to Reserve |
The Nandi Hills line is the one Bangalore day where kilometres, not hours, push the price up, because the hill sits about 60 km north of the city. Every other plan in the table is decided by the clock.
Areas we cover across Bengaluru
Packages can start and end anywhere in the city and its growth corridors. These are the pickup points our chauffeurs see most often:
- Central: MG Road, Brigade Road, Richmond Town, Shivajinagar, Vasanth Nagar, Cunningham Road
- East: Indiranagar, Domlur, Old Airport Road, Marathahalli, Whitefield, KR Puram, Brookefield
- South-east: Koramangala, HSR Layout, Bellandur, Sarjapur Road, Electronic City
- South: Jayanagar, JP Nagar, Basavanagudi, Banashankari, Bannerghatta Road
- North: Hebbal, Yelahanka, Manyata Tech Park, Devanahalli and the airport
- West: Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar, Yeshwanthpur, Peenya
Anywhere else within city limits is also served; the booker accepts any address. For a one-off ride between these areas, cab booking is quicker than a package, and a drop-only run to another city is priced on one way taxi.
Weekdays, weekends and the rain
The same 8-hour package behaves very differently depending on when you book it. On weekdays, the tech corridors dominate: inbound traffic on the ORR and to Electronic City peaks from about 8.30 to 11 am and outbound from 5.30 to 8.30 pm, so meetings scheduled in the middle of the day make the best use of your hours. Weekends shift the traffic to malls, Church Street, Cubbon Park and the highways out to Mysore and Nandi Hills, and a Saturday morning departure is the busiest time on the airport road.
Bangalore's rain also shapes the day. Pre-monsoon storms in April and May, and the heavy showers of September and October, can flood underpasses and bring the ORR to a halt within an hour. If your day includes a flight, start a little earlier during those months. Kempegowda International Airport has two terminals, so confirm yours when you book so the chauffeur waits at the right one.
Weekend drives: Mysore, Coorg, Ooty and beyond
Beyond the city limits, billing is per km with a floor of 250 km for each calendar day of the round trip, plus a driver night allowance of Rs 1,500 for each night away. Tolls on the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway and state permits for Tamil Nadu or Kerala are added at actual cost. Some examples:
- Mysore and Srirangapatna in a day, Dzire: about 290 km in all, so 290 x Rs 36 = Rs 10,440 Pay Now to Reserve. The Bangalore to Mysore taxi page covers timings, including Dasara week in October when Mysore Palace is lit.
- Coorg for two days, Innova Crysta: about 530 km, just above the 500 km minimum, so 530 x Rs 57.6 = Rs 30,210 plus one night's allowance. See Bangalore to Coorg taxi.
- Ooty for three days, Innova Crysta: the road distance of about 540 km is under the three-day minimum of 750 km, so 750 x Rs 57.6 = Rs 42,750 plus two nights' allowance. The Bangalore to Ooty taxi page explains the Bandipur and Mudumalai forest timings and the hairpin climb.
- Chennai as a one-way drop: if you do not need the car to wait, Bangalore to Chennai taxi bills only the single distance.
Groups of ten or more going to Coorg or Chikmagalur are better off in one Tempo Traveller in Bangalore than in two cars; one driver, one set of tolls and everyone arrives together.
Choosing the car
The complete range, from hatchback-sized sedans to luxury coaches, is on the fleet page, and an MUV for a family of five is described on Ertiga on rent. A Dzire is right for one or two passengers with suitcases. For a family of five, the Ertiga keeps costs down; for six adults, long airport runs and hill drives, choose the Innova Crysta, which is also available on its own through Innova Crysta on rent. Every vehicle is within four model years and cleaned before each duty; only Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach may run up to seven model years.
Booking, payment and cancellation
Choose Bangalore, the package and the car on the booker and book online; pay by card or UPI, and add a GSTIN if you need a business invoice. You receive the chauffeur's name and vehicle number before the duty. Multi-day plans and events are quoted in writing by the travel desk.
Our cancellation policy is the same for every car: free if you cancel more than 72 hours before pickup, 10% of the fare between 72 and 48 hours, 50% between 48 and 24 hours, and the full fare inside 24 hours or on a no-show.
