Bengaluru plans its weekends around a group chat: someone suggests Coorg, someone else wants Nandi Hills at sunrise, and by Thursday there are fourteen people and no vehicle. A tempo traveller in Bangalore from RutzIndia.com settles the logistics in one booking. We rent AC Force Travellers with 9, 12, 17, 20 and 26 seats, along with Urbanias and mini buses, each with a driver who knows the Mysore expressway, the ghat roads into Kodagu and the Tirupati pilgrim route. Fares are fixed upfront, you can book online in minutes, and companies get a GST invoice.
Tempo traveller in Bangalore price for 2026
A tempo traveller in Bangalore costs Rs 12,300 Pay Now to Reserve for 4 hours / 40 km, Rs 20,460 Pay Now to Reserve for 8 hours / 80 km and Rs 11,280 Pay Now to Reserve for a Kempegowda airport transfer up to 40 km. Outstation hire to Mysore, Coorg or Ooty is Rs 78 per km, minimum 250 km per day, plus 5% GST.
Local and airport prices below include Bengaluru's city factor of 1.05, reflecting longer city distances and traffic. Outstation per-km rates are the same across India. Traveller fares cover the 9, 12 and 17 seat versions; 20 and 26 seat bodies are quoted separately.
| Vehicle | Seat options | 4 hr / 40 km | 8 hr / 80 km | KIA airport (to 40 km) | Outstation rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Force Tempo Traveller | 9 / 12 / 17; 20 / 26 quoted | Rs 12,300 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 20,460 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 11,280 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 78/km |
| Force Urbania | 10 / 13 / 17 | Rs 17,010 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 28,350 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 15,600 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 102/km |

Prices exclude 5% GST. Tolls on the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway, NH44 and NH48, interstate permits and taxes for Tamil Nadu, Kerala or Andhra Pradesh, and parking are charged at actual cost. On overnight trips the driver's night allowance is Rs 1,500 per night, and outstation round trips are billed on at least 250 km per calendar day.

Team outings and offsites from the tech corridors
A large share of our Bengaluru Traveller bookings come from offices along the Outer Ring Road, Whitefield, Electronic City, Manyata and Bagmane tech parks. Typical requests:
- Resort day outings on Kanakapura Road, Hosur Road or near Devanahalli: an 8 hour / 80 km package at Rs 20,460 per Traveller, with extra kilometres at the rate card if the resort is further out.
- Two-day offsites at Coorg, Kabini, Sakleshpur or Chikmagalur, where two or three Travellers move a team of 40 more cheaply than a fleet of cabs.
- Client visits and conference shuttles between hotels and venues such as the convention centres near the airport and in the city.
- Recurring shift runs for staff, which we set up under employee transport services with fixed routes and monthly billing.
Every corporate booking gets a GST invoice on the company's details, a duty slip per vehicle, and payment by card, UPI or bank transfer. For executives who prefer a sedan, see corporate car rental.
Weekend drives from Bengaluru, with fares
Sample fares at Rs 78 per km on the billable distance, before GST, tolls, permits, parking and driver nights:
- Nandi Hills, about 60 km: a sunrise trip is billed on the 250 km daily minimum, Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve. Leave by 4:30 am to beat the weekend queue at the gate.
- Mysore and Srirangapatna, about 145 km: a day return of 290 km is about Rs 22,620 Pay Now to Reserve via the access-controlled expressway. During Mysuru Dasara in October the palace illumination draws big crowds, so an overnight stay is better. Car fares are on the Bangalore to Mysore taxi page, and local runs on the Mysore taxi service.
- Coorg (Madikeri), about 265 km: a two-day trip is billed on 530 km, about Rs 41,340 plus a driver night; a three-day stay bills 750 km, about Rs 58,500 Pay Now to Reserve. See Bangalore to Coorg taxi for road notes.
- Ooty, about 270 km: two days bills 540 km, about Rs 42,120 Pay Now to Reserve. Larger vehicles are usually routed via Gudalur rather than the steep Kalhatti ghat, and the forest stretch through Bandipur and Mudumalai closes to traffic at night, so plan to clear it well before 9 pm. The Nilgiris district has in recent seasons required an e-pass for visiting vehicles; we check the current rule before your trip. More on the Bangalore to Ooty taxi page.
- Chikmagalur, about 245 km: two days bills 500 km, about Rs 39,000 Pay Now to Reserve.
- Hampi, about 340 km: three days bills 750 km, about Rs 58,500 Pay Now to Reserve, a good choice for families and college groups in the cooler months.
- Chennai, about 345 km: a one-day drop and return bills 690 km, about Rs 53,820 Pay Now to Reserve; car options are on Bangalore to Chennai taxi.
Karnataka's official tourism site lists destinations, festival dates and heritage timings on Karnataka Tourism.

Long city days: the 12 hour package
Some Bengaluru days run long: a wedding with a morning muhurat and a late reception, or a delegation visiting three campuses between Whitefield and Electronic City. For these, a 12 hour / 120 km package is available. It is priced at one and a half times the 8 hour fare plus 40 km at the per-km rate, which for a Traveller in Bengaluru comes to Rs 33,810 Pay Now to Reserve (Rs 20,460 Pay Now to Reserve x 1.5 plus 40 x Rs 78), before GST, tolls and parking. For an Urbania it is Rs 46,610 Pay Now to Reserve and for a mini bus Rs 71,550 Pay Now to Reserve.
Kabini, Wayanad and the forest belt
Wildlife weekends are a Bengaluru speciality. Kabini, about 210 km away on the edge of Nagarhole, is best from October to May, with jungle lodges that run their own safaris; a two-day trip is billed on 500 km, Rs 39,000 Pay Now to Reserve, in a Traveller. Bandipur and BR Hills are similar distances. Wayanad in Kerala, about 280 km, makes a pleasant three-day loop with Edakkal caves and Banasura Sagar, billed on 750 km, Rs 58,500 Pay Now to Reserve, plus Kerala permit charges. Forest roads through Bandipur and Nagarhole close at night, so we time arrivals and departures around the gate hours, and driving inside the reserves is limited to the highway, with safaris in forest department or lodge vehicles.

Mysuru Dasara and the palace illumination
Dasara in September or October is the biggest event on the Mysore calendar. The palace is lit every evening during the festival, the Jamboo Savari procession fills the city on Vijayadashami, and hotels and vehicles are booked weeks ahead. For groups, we suggest arriving the afternoon before the big day, staying overnight, and planning the drop and pickup points with the driver, as central Mysuru has road closures and parking is at designated grounds. A two-day trip is billed on 500 km, Rs 39,000 Pay Now to Reserve, plus one night of allowance. Karnataka's tourism department publishes the festival programme each year.
Temple and pilgrimage trips
- Tirupati and Tirumala, about 250 to 270 km: most groups go over two days, billed on around 540 km, about Rs 42,120 plus a driver night and Andhra Pradesh permit charges. Book darshan slots separately; vehicles going up the Tirumala ghat are checked at Alipiri.
- Dharmasthala and Kukke Subramanya, about 300 km: a two or three day circuit through the Shiradi ghat. During heavy monsoon spells this ghat can be closed for repairs, and we reroute via Charmadi or Sampaje.
- Melukote and Shravanabelagola, about 150 km: a single day covers both, billed on actual distance.
- Mantralayam, about 360 km: a two-day trip is typical.
For elders who would rather travel in a car, the same circuits can be booked on our Bangalore taxi service.
A three-day Coorg offsite, hour by hour
- Day 1. Pickups from two tech parks at 6 am, breakfast on the Mysore expressway, a stop at Srirangapatna or the Tibetan settlement at Bylakuppe, and check-in at a Madikeri or Kushalnagar estate resort by mid-afternoon. Evening team session at the resort.
- Day 2. Abbey Falls and Raja's Seat in the morning, a coffee plantation walk after lunch, and Dubare elephant camp or river activities depending on the season. About 80 to 100 km of local driving.
- Day 3. Talakaveri and Bhagamandala for early risers, then lunch and the drive home, reaching Bengaluru before the evening peak on the Mysore Road side.
Actual driving is about 700 km across the three days, so the bill is on the real distance: roughly Rs 54,600 Pay Now to Reserve at Rs 78 per km, plus two nights of driver allowance, tolls and GST. For a team of fifteen that is about Rs 3,630 each before extras.
Tempo traveller vs trains, buses and cab convoys
| 14 colleagues, Bengaluru to Mysore and back | How it is paid | Pickup from office | Luggage | Stops en route |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One 17 seat Traveller | Rs 22,620 plus tolls, parking and GST | Yes | Inside the vehicle | Srirangapatna, Ranganathittu, anywhere |
| Four app cabs | Separate fares, surge at peaks | Yes | Boots | Group scatters on the expressway |
| Express train | Tickets per head plus autos at both ends | No | Carry your own | No |
| KSRTC bus | Lowest per head | No | Limited | No |
Trains and buses are great for two or three people. For teams and families, a Traveller is usually the cheapest per head once station transfers and local sightseeing are counted.
Multi-point pickups across a sprawling city
Bengaluru teams rarely live in one place, and a morning spent collecting colleagues from Yelahanka, Whitefield and JP Nagar can eat an hour of a day package before the trip begins. Send us the pickup list when you book; we sequence the stops to follow the outer roads rather than cross the centre, set a clear time at each point, and share it with everyone the evening before. For very spread-out groups, two vehicles meeting at a common point on the highway is sometimes cheaper than one vehicle doing a long collection loop.
Areas we pick up from in Bengaluru
Koramangala, HSR Layout, BTM Layout, Jayanagar, JP Nagar, Banashankari, Basavanagudi, Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar, Yeshwanthpur, Hebbal, Yelahanka, Devanahalli, Indiranagar, Domlur, Ulsoor, MG Road, Whitefield, Marathahalli, Bellandur, Sarjapur Road, Electronic City, Bannerghatta Road, Kanakapura Road, RR Nagar and Kengeri, as well as Manyata, Bagmane, RMZ Ecospace, ITPL and the Electronic City tech parks. Railway groups are met at KSR Bengaluru, Yeshwantpur, SMVT Bengaluru and Cantonment stations.
Driver allowance and interstate permits from Karnataka
Allowance. Rs 1,500 per night on overnight trips. Many Coorg and Chikmagalur resorts provide drivers' rooms.
Interstate permits. Trips into Tamil Nadu (Ooty, Kodaikanal, Chennai), Kerala (Wayanad, Munnar) or Andhra Pradesh (Tirupati, Puttaparthi) may attract a border permit or tax, depending on the vehicle's permit. We pay it and add the receipted amount.
Hill and forest rules. The Bandipur-Mudumalai stretch closes to traffic at night, and the Nilgiris district has used an e-pass system for visiting vehicles in some seasons. We check the current rules before each trip.
Tolls. The Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway, NH44 towards Hosur and Hyderabad and NH48 towards Tumakuru and Chennai are tolled; toll rates for commercial vehicles are listed by the National Highways Authority of India.
Tirupati from Bengaluru: a two-day family plan
- Day 1. Leave Bengaluru by 5 am via Hoskote and Kolar or via Chittoor, with breakfast on the way. Reach Tirupati by late morning, check in, visit the Sri Padmavathi temple at Tiruchanur in the afternoon and rest early.
- Day 2. Go up to Tirumala for your booked darshan slot. Vehicles are checked at Alipiri, and the ghat road is one-way in each direction. After darshan and lunch, drive back to Bengaluru, arriving in the evening.
The two days cover about 520 to 560 km, billed on actual distance: about Rs 36,400 Pay Now to Reserve in a Traveller, plus one night of allowance, Andhra Pradesh permit charges, tolls and GST. Darshan tickets are booked separately by you through the temple's official channels.
Regular, Maharaja or Urbania in Bengaluru
Regular Traveller. Pushback seats, roof AC ducts over every row, reading lights, charging points and a music system; the standard for team outings and family trips.
Maharaja Traveller. Nine recliners with legroom and curtains at the same per-km rate, useful when a team wants to work or rest on the road.
Force Urbania. Individual reclining seats and AC vents, a smoother ride and less noise, at Rs 102 per km and Rs 28,350 for a city day. It suits client visits and senior delegations.
Every vehicle is four model years old or newer, arrives cleaned, and carries a first-aid kit. Smoking and alcohol are not permitted inside, and the driver has the last word on safety, including in heavy rain on ghat roads.
The coast: Udupi, Murudeshwar and Gokarna
Coastal Karnataka is a favourite long weekend for Bengaluru families and friends. Udupi and the Krishna temple, Murudeshwar with its seaside Shiva statue, and the beaches of Gokarna are about 400 to 480 km away, reached over the Western Ghats via the Shiradi, Charmadi or Agumbe routes. We plan these as four-day trips, billed on at least 1,000 km, about Rs 78,000 Pay Now to Reserve in a Traveller, plus three nights of allowance, tolls and GST; real driving is often close to that floor. During the peak monsoon from June to August, ghat sections can be closed for repairs or landslides, and the coast sees very heavy rain, so October to March is the easier season. Dharmasthala and Kukke Subramanya fit neatly into the same loop.
Puttaparthi, Isha and Tamil Nadu temple runs
Puttaparthi, about 160 km away in Andhra Pradesh, is a popular day or overnight trip for devotees; a same-day return of 320 km is about Rs 24,960 Pay Now to Reserve. The Isha Yoga Centre near Coimbatore, about 360 km away, draws large groups for Mahashivratri; plan two or three days. Families also combine Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram on the way to Chennai. For these interstate runs, permit charges for Andhra Pradesh or Tamil Nadu are added at cost.
School and college excursions from Bengaluru
Schools book 17, 20 and 26 seat Travellers for Wonderla on Mysore Road, the Bannerghatta biological park, Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium and Lalbagh's flower shows in January and August. Colleges hire them for industrial visits to Hosur, Tumakuru and Bidadi and for study tours to Hampi and Mysore. We need a named teacher or coordinator, a passenger list and a fixed schedule for every student booking, and we avoid night driving on ghat roads for student groups.
Weddings and family functions in Bengaluru
Weddings in Bengaluru range from Palace Grounds halls in the centre to resort venues on Kanakapura Road, Sarjapur and towards Devanahalli, often an hour or more from guest hotels. Travellers run the guest shuttles, collect relatives from Majestic (KSR Bengaluru) and Yeshwantpur stations, and handle the airport runs. Pair them with a car for the couple from wedding car rental in Bangalore. Peak muhurat months are November to February and April to June; Ugadi and Dasara weekends are also busy.
Hyderabad, Chennai and other one-way moves
Teams relocating between offices, families moving house and wedding parties heading to a function in another city often need a one-way Traveller. One-way drops are priced at Rs 78 per km for the route distance: Bengaluru to Chennai, about 345 km, is about Rs 26,910 Pay Now to Reserve, and Bengaluru to Hyderabad, about 570 km, is about Rs 44,460 Pay Now to Reserve, plus tolls, interstate permit charges and GST. The Chennai run on NH48 takes roughly six to seven hours, and the Hyderabad run on NH44 via Anantapur and Kurnool about nine to ten hours, so we plan a mid-morning start and a meal stop around the halfway point. Compare car fares on the Bangalore to Chennai taxi page.
Airport groups at Kempegowda International
Kempegowda International Airport is at Devanahalli, roughly 35 km from MG Road. The airport fare of Rs 11,280 Pay Now to Reserve covers transfers of up to 40 km, which includes most of north and central Bengaluru; addresses in Electronic City, Sarjapur or south Whitefield run further, and the extra distance is billed per km. The driver tracks your flight and meets you at arrivals with a name board, with 60 minutes of free waiting after an international landing and 30 minutes after a domestic one. Terminal information is on the Bengaluru airport website. Couples and small families can compare cars on Bangalore airport taxi.
Traffic, parking and timings in Bengaluru
- Rush hours on the ORR, Silk Board, Hebbal flyover, Tin Factory and Hosur Road stretch from about 8 to 11 am and 5 to 9 pm. A Traveller that leaves at 6 am for Mysore or Coorg is out of the city before the jams build.
- Monsoon (June to September, with another round in October and November) causes waterlogging at underpasses and slows the Airport Road and ORR.
- Parking near Lalbagh, Cubbon Park, Commercial Street and Bangalore Palace is limited; the driver drops you at the gate and parks in the nearest paid lot, billed at actual cost.
How much is a tempo traveller in Bangalore in 2026? Seat-wise rates
Fares updated September 2026. Four figures decide what a Traveller costs you out of Bengaluru: the kilometre rate, the minimum kilometres counted per day, the driver's night allowance and the city day package. They are laid out below for every body size.
| Seat option | Outstation, per km | Counted at least, per day | Driver allowance, per night | City day, 8 hr / 80 km | City half day, 4 hr / 40 km |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 seat Maharaja | Rs 78 | 250 km | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 20,460 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,300 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 12 seat | Rs 78 | 250 km | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 20,460 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,300 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 17 seat | Rs 78 | 250 km | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 20,460 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 12,300 Pay Now to Reserve |
| 20 seat | ask for a quote | 250 km | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | ask for a quote | ask for a quote |
| 26 seat | ask for a quote | 250 km | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | ask for a quote | ask for a quote |
| Urbania, up to 17 | Rs 102 | 250 km | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 28,350 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 17,010 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Mini bus, up to 35 | Rs 130 | 250 km | Rs 1,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 44,100 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 26,460 Pay Now to Reserve |
Example: a three-day Coorg offsite that drives about 530 km is counted as 750 km because of the daily minimum, so the Traveller charge is Rs 58,500 Pay Now to Reserve, plus two driver nights, tolls and GST. A one-day Mysore trip of about 290 km is billed on the actual 290 km, Rs 22,620 Pay Now to Reserve, with no night allowance.
Traveller sizes, matched to Bengaluru trips
9 seat Maharaja Traveller
Nine wide recliners with an aisle, footrests on many units and curtains. It is the favourite for leadership offsites where a team works on laptops during the drive to Kabini, for senior citizens on the Tirupati run, and for foreign guests arriving at Kempegowda with large suitcases. The per-km rate matches the 12 and 17 seaters.
12 seat Traveller
The best size for Coorg, Chikmagalur and Sakleshpur, where estate roads and homestay driveways are narrow and steep. It carries a family or a small team with a suitcase each. It is also nimble enough for city errands between Indiranagar, Jayanagar and Malleshwaram. See our 12 seater tempo traveller page for seat plans.
17 seat Traveller
Most requested for tech-park team outings and resort days on Kanakapura or Hosur Road. Seventeen people with day bags fit well; for two-night offsites with luggage, keep it to fourteen or fifteen.
20 seat Traveller
A longer body that suits the Mysore expressway, the Chennai and Hyderabad highways and resort days near Devanahalli. Less suited to ghat sections into Kodagu and the Nilgiris. Quoted on request.
26 seat Traveller
For school excursions to Wonderla, Bannerghatta and HAL's heritage centre, or large department days out with light luggage. With every seat full there is little room for bags, so for 30 or more with luggage consider a mini bus on rent or a coach from bus on rent.
For a quieter cabin with better suspension, compare Force Urbania on rent; for five or six travellers, an Innova Crysta on rent is cheaper.
Trip cost from Bangalore: seven weekend and temple trips
We bill the larger of the real round-trip distance and 250 km per calendar day, at the vehicle's per-km rate. Tolls, interstate permits, parking, driver nights and 5% GST are extra.
| Destination | Round-trip distance | Days | Chargeable km | Traveller | Urbania | Mini bus | Nights for driver |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nandi Hills | about 120 km | 1 | 250 km | Rs 19,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 25,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 33,750 Pay Now to Reserve | 0 |
| Mysore | about 290 km | 1 | 290 km | Rs 22,620 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 29,580 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 39,150 Pay Now to Reserve | 0 |
| Chikmagalur | about 490 km | 2 | 500 km | Rs 39,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 51,000 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 67,500 Pay Now to Reserve | 1 |
| Tirupati | about 520 km | 2 | 520 km | Rs 40,560 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 53,040 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 70,200 Pay Now to Reserve | 1 |
| Ooty | about 540 km | 2 | 540 km | Rs 42,120 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 55,080 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 72,900 Pay Now to Reserve | 1 |
| Coorg | about 530 km | 3 | 750 km | Rs 58,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 76,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,01,250 Pay Now to Reserve | 2 |
| Hampi | about 680 km | 3 | 750 km | Rs 58,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 76,500 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 1,01,250 Pay Now to Reserve | 2 |
Split among fifteen colleagues, the Coorg offsite costs about Rs 3,900 a head before extras. Our fares page explains the rules in detail.
Inside the vehicle: comfort, luggage and pickup points
Our Bengaluru Travellers have pushback seats with individual reading lights, roof-ducted AC, a music system and charging points; the 9 seat maharaja version adds wide captain chairs and legroom that elders appreciate on the four-hour run to Coorg. Water bottles are on board for outstation trips. Smoking and alcohol inside the vehicle are not permitted, and the driver may stop the trip if either is insisted upon.
Luggage space depends on the body. A 12 seater carries roughly one medium suitcase and a backpack per person, with a covered roof carrier for overflow; a fully loaded 17 seater is tighter, so trekking groups heading to Kudremukh or Kumara Parvatha should mention rucksacks and tents when booking. Wedding groups carrying return gifts or decor should also tell us, and we will send a vehicle with a larger boot or a second vehicle.
Pickups can be arranged from any address in the city: apartment gates in Hebbal and Yelahanka, tech-park lobbies in Whitefield and Marathahalli, hostels in Koramangala and HSR Layout, hotels on MG Road and Residency Road, and the city's railway stations. For groups collected from more than three addresses, share the list in advance so the driver can plan an efficient loop and the package hours are not used up in pickups.
How booking works, and our cancellation terms
Add your pickup address, dates, seats and route on the booking page to see the fixed fare, then pay an advance by card or UPI. Vehicle and driver details are shared the evening before. The fare includes the vehicle (within four model years), fuel, AC and the driver; tolls, permits, parking and night allowance are extra. For multi-day or multi-vehicle plans, WhatsApp the desk or call us for a written quote.
You can cancel free of charge more than 72 hours before pickup. Cancelling within 72 hours costs 10% of the fare, within 48 hours 50%, and within 24 hours or on a no-show 100%. See the cancellation policy for full terms.
