Kempegowda International sits at Devanahalli, well north of the city, and that single fact shapes every Bangalore airport taxi decision. A ride to MG Road is close to 40 km, Whitefield and Koramangala are further, and Electronic City is a long haul across town. Metered or surge-priced rides make that distance expensive and unpredictable; a fixed fare booked with RutzIndia.com tells you the number before you take off.
Bangalore airport taxi fare, updated for 2026
A Bangalore airport taxi with RutzIndia.com costs Rs 4,160 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan and Rs 7,280 Pay Now to Reserve in an Innova Crysta for any drop within 40 km of KIA, covering Hebbal, Manyata, MG Road and Indiranagar. Further areas add the per-km rate on extra distance, for example Whitefield at about Rs 4,340 Pay Now to Reserve. Prices exclude 5% GST and tolls.
Bengaluru carries a 1.05 city factor on local and airport fares, so each class costs 5% above the national base shown on our fares page. The fixed transfer covers the first 40 km from the terminal. Because so many Bengaluru addresses lie just beyond that line, we price the extra distance transparently: Rs 36 per km for a sedan, Rs 57.6 for an Innova Crysta and Rs 78 for a Tempo Traveller, with no city factor on those kilometres.

Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and the pickup routine at KIA
KIA runs two terminals. Terminal 2, the newer building known for its indoor gardens, handles international flights and a share of domestic airlines; Terminal 1 carries the remaining domestic operations. Airlines have moved between the two since T2 opened, so the ticket or airline app is the final word. Add your flight number when you book and we match the terminal automatically.
Here is what happens on the day:
- Before you board, you receive the chauffeur's name, number and the car registration.
- While you fly, we watch the flight. An early arrival brings the chauffeur forward; a delay pushes him back at no cost to you.
- On landing, clear baggage (and immigration and customs if international) and step out into the arrivals area. Your chauffeur waits with a name board where pre-booked cars meet guests.
- At the car, he loads your bags in the commercial pickup zone and confirms the address before leaving.
Free waiting runs for 60 minutes after an international arrival and 30 minutes after a domestic one, measured from the tracked landing. After that, time is billed at the hourly rate on your booking, and you are told before it starts.
Terminal pickup, step by step
At Terminal 2 (international and some domestic airlines)
- After immigration and customs, follow the arrivals signs past the baggage hall towards the exit. T2's gardens and timber interiors make it one of India's most pleasant terminals to walk through, but the walk is long, so keep a trolley.
- At the exit, your chauffeur waits in the meet-and-greet area with a printed name board.
- He walks you to the parking area assigned to pre-booked commercial cars. At night, the chauffeur can bring the car closer when the airport's rules permit.
At Terminal 1 (domestic)
- Collect bags from the belt shown on the screens.
- Walk out of the arrivals exit; the meet-and-greet area is just outside.
- The pickup parking is across the forecourt, a short walk.
If you cannot spot the chauffeur, send a WhatsApp message to the number in your confirmation with the exit you are standing at. He will come to you rather than asking you to look for the car.

Why the fare matters more at night
A big slice of Bengaluru's long-haul traffic lands between 11 pm and 5 am, and that is when the city's roads are clear enough to reach Whitefield or Electronic City in an hour. It is also when surge pricing and night premiums peak elsewhere. RutzIndia.com charges no night surcharge: a Koramangala drop at 3 am is Rs 4,270 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan, exactly as at lunchtime.
For late arrivals, the chauffeur is on a rested night shift rather than finishing a long day. If you are travelling alone, you can match the plate in your confirmation before you get in, and share the booking link with someone at home.
Leaving for the airport: timing across Bengaluru
The trip to Devanahalli runs up Bellary Road (NH-44) through Hebbal, where the flyover junction is the classic bottleneck. The alternate Hennur-Bagalur approach helps from the east. For departures:
- From Whitefield, Sarjapur Road or Electronic City, leave at least three hours before a domestic flight and four before an international one during weekday peaks (8 to 11 am and 5 to 9 pm).
- From MG Road, Indiranagar or Koramangala, allow two and a half hours for domestic and three and a half for international at peak times.
- From the north (Hebbal, Yelahanka, Manyata), 90 minutes before domestic check-in closes is usually enough.
September and October rains can flood underpasses on the Outer Ring Road; on heavy-rain days we dispatch earlier at no extra charge if you ask.

Tech parks, visiting teams and corporate arrivals
Bengaluru airport traffic is heavily corporate. Consultants fly in on Monday mornings for Manyata, Bagmane or ITPL, and project teams arrive in groups. Companies use us in three ways:
- Single executives in a premium sedan or a Mercedes E-Class from our luxury car rental in Bangalore, billed with a 5% GST invoice in the company name.
- Visiting teams of six to twelve in an Innova Crysta pair or a Tempo Traveller in Bangalore, so everyone reaches the office together after a red-eye.
- Regular accounts with monthly consolidated billing through corporate car rental, or scheduled shift cabs under employee transport services.
For visitors who need a car for the whole stay, the transfer can roll straight into a car rental with driver in Bangalore on the 8 hours / 80 km package, Rs 7,560 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan with the city factor. Short hops around town are on our taxi service in Bangalore page.
Weekend escapes that start at the arrivals gate
Because the airport is north of the city, some trips are quicker if you never enter Bengaluru at all. Nandi Hills is about 30 km away and fits within the airport fare. For longer runs the car can head out on the highway directly:
- Bangalore to Mysore taxi: about 145 km from the city on the Mysuru expressway, Rs 5,220 Pay Now to Reserve one way in a sedan.
- Bangalore to Coorg taxi: about 265 km, best planned over two days.
- Bangalore to Ooty taxi: about 270 km through Mysuru and the Bandipur and Mudumalai forests.
- Bangalore to Chennai taxi: about 345 km, a long single day.
Those fares apply from a city address. Starting at the terminal, the airport rule applies: the fixed fare for 40 km plus the plain class rate beyond, so KIA to Mysuru (about 180 km) is Rs 9,200 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan (Rs 4,160 Pay Now to Reserve + 140 km x Rs 36) and Rs 15,260 Pay Now to Reserve in an Innova Crysta. Once in Mysuru, our Mysore taxi service covers the palace, Chamundi Hill and Srirangapatna. All highway options are listed on routes.
Crossing into Tamil Nadu or Andhra from the airport
Some addresses that feel like Bengaluru are in another state. Hosur's industrial belt and the plants around it are in Tamil Nadu, about 75 km from KIA by the NICE road or through the city. Under the airport rule that drop is about Rs 5,420 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan (Rs 4,160 Pay Now to Reserve for 40 km plus 35 km at Rs 36) or Rs 9,270 Pay Now to Reserve in an Innova Crysta. Because the car crosses a state border, the interstate permit or entry tax is added at actual cost, and we arrange it before the day so there is no stop at the check post to sort paperwork.
The same applies northwards: Chikkaballapur and Nandi are in Karnataka, but trips towards Hindupur and Puttaparthi cross into Andhra Pradesh. Tell us the full destination when you book, not just the nearest Bengaluru landmark, and the quote will include the right permit line.
Groups and weddings flying into Bengaluru
Wedding season (November to February) and the long weekends around Dasara and Diwali bring families flying in from the Gulf, the US and other Indian metros. We batch airport collections by flight so relatives landing within the same hour share a vehicle, and the rest are collected as they arrive. For the ceremony itself, wedding car rental in Bangalore supplies decorated cars and guest shuttles, and luxury SUVs are available for the couple.
Airport bus, app cab or a booked chauffeur?
Bengaluru has more ground-transport choices at the airport than most Indian cities. The BMTC Vayu Vajra buses run to many parts of the city and are the cheapest way in for a traveller with one bag and no hurry. App cabs wait in a dedicated zone reached by a walk from arrivals, and their fares move with demand, which on a Friday evening or after a cluster of international landings can be steep. Airport taxis at the rank are metered, and the meter on a 45 km drive through Hebbal traffic adds up.
A pre-booked car is the better fit when the arithmetic or the circumstances change: three or more people sharing (the Innova Crysta fare split four ways is less than four bus tickets plus onward autos), a late-night landing, elderly parents, a company that needs a GST invoice, or a trip that continues straight to Mysuru or Coorg. The fare is agreed before you fly, the chauffeur is waiting rather than being summoned, and luggage space is known in advance.
One practical tip: Bengaluru addresses are notoriously hard to find at night, with similar-sounding cross roads and main roads in every layout. Drop a map pin in the booker along with the written address, and the chauffeur will go straight to your gate instead of calling from the corner.
Official airport taxis, KSTDC, app cabs or a booked chauffeur
Kempegowda airport runs an organised ground-transport system, and its own site advertises airport taxis with no surge pricing. The state tourism corporation, KSTDC, also runs airport taxi counters. App cabs have a dedicated pickup zone, and the Vayu Vajra buses leave from outside the terminals. Here is how the choices compare on facts rather than claims:
| Airport taxi / KSTDC counter | App cab | RutzIndia.com | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Booking | At the counter or rank on arrival | In the app after landing | Online, before you fly |
| Fare basis | Operator's published tariff | App fare, varies with demand | Fixed class fare for 40 km, then Rs 70/km |
| Meeting | You go to the counter or rank | You walk to the app zone | Chauffeur at the exit with your name |
| Vehicle choice | The operator's categories | App categories | Sedan, MUV, Innova Crysta, SUV, E-Class, Tempo Traveller, Urbania |
| Return trip on the same booking | Separate | Separate | Yes, both legs together |
Each option serves a purpose. The official and KSTDC taxis are a sound choice if you land without a booking; a pre-booked car is for travellers who want the car size, the fare and the meeting settled before they board.
