Wedding planners in Jaipur tend to budget model by model, so this version of the rate card names each car, adds the long 12-hour day and shows exactly what an overrun costs. The second column is where, in our experience, each car does its best work in and around the Pink City.

Rajasthan weddings rarely fit neatly into eight hours, so many families book the 12 hr / 120 km day for their key cars. That package is worked out as the 8-hour fare times 1.5, plus 40 km at the car's per-km rate: Rs 60,030 Pay Now to Reserve for an E-Class, Rs 85,350 Pay Now to Reserve for a Vellfire, Rs 90,240 Pay Now to Reserve for a luxury SUV and Rs 1,50,000 Pay Now to Reserve for an S-Class in Jaipur. Palace weddings: how the cars are planned

Jaipur is one of India's busiest destination-wedding cities, and most of that activity happens between November and February, with a smaller run of dates in spring. The venues are spread out: palace hotels inside the city, resorts on the Delhi highway near Kukas and Amer, and heritage properties an hour or more away in Samode or Chomu. Arriving in Jaipur: airport and palace-hotel transfers

Jaipur International Airport sits at Sanganer, roughly 13 km south of the city centre. The chauffeur tracks your flight, waits in arrivals with your name on a board and gives you 60 minutes of free waiting after an international landing or 30 minutes after a domestic one; any wait beyond that is billed hourly.

From the airport the roads fan out to the city's hotel clusters:

Plenty of our Jaipur clients are not attending a wedding at all. They are couples on an anniversary, NRI families showing grandparents the city, or executives with a free day after a conference. For them, a full 8 hour / 80 km day in an E-Class or Range Rover usually runs like this:

• 8 am. Pickup at the hotel and a quiet drive past Jal Mahal to Amer Fort before the tour buses arrive. The chauffeur drops you near the entrance and waits in the designated parking area.
