Mumbai now has two international gateways, and the first thing a good Mumbai airport taxi needs to know is which one you are using. Most flights still use Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (BOM) at Sahar and Santacruz, while a growing number operate from Navi Mumbai International (NMI) near Ulwe and Panvel. RutzIndia.com runs fixed-fare transfers at both, with a chauffeur who tracks your flight and meets you at the arrivals exit.
Mumbai airport taxi price for 2026
A Mumbai airport taxi with RutzIndia.com is Rs 4,360 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan and Rs 7,620 Pay Now to Reserve in an Innova Crysta for drops within 40 km of the terminal, which covers Andheri, Bandra, BKC, Worli, Lower Parel and Nariman Point from T2. Fares are fixed day and night and exclude 5% GST, tolls and parking.
Mumbai carries a 1.10 city factor on local and airport fares, reflecting slower traffic and higher parking costs, so every class costs 10% more than the national base on our fares page. The transfer price covers the first 40 km; beyond that, each extra kilometre is added at the class per-km rate without the city factor (Rs 36 sedan, Rs 57.6 Innova Crysta, Rs 78 Tempo Traveller).

Pune and Lonavala are in the table because many arrivals head straight up the expressway; they are priced by the same airport rule, the fixed fare for 40 km plus the plain per-km rate for the rest. If the Navi Mumbai airport is on your ticket, the harbour-side drops look like this:
| From Navi Mumbai International to | Distance (about) | Sedan | Ertiga | Innova Crysta |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Panvel | 10 km | Rs 4,360 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 5,450 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 7,620 Pay Now to Reserve |

Sea Link, Atal Setu and expressway tolls are paid at actual cost.

T1, T2 or Navi Mumbai: getting the terminal right
Terminal 2 (Sahar, Andheri East) is the large integrated terminal that handles international flights and a big share of domestic ones. It is reached by the elevated Sahar access road off the Western Express Highway, which keeps airport traffic off the local lanes.
Terminal 1 (Santacruz) is the older domestic terminal on the western side of the runway. By road it is a few kilometres from T2, but in evening traffic the transfer between them can take half an hour, which is why we ask for the terminal at booking and check it against your flight number.
Navi Mumbai International (NMI) sits across the harbour near Ulwe. From there Belapur, Kharghar and Panvel are short hops, Vashi is about 25 km, and South Mumbai is reachable over the Atal Setu sea bridge. Pune is closer from NMI than from Sahar, so if your airline gives you a choice, it can shorten a Mumbai-Pune trip considerably. Transfers from NMI use the same Mumbai fare card.
How your chauffeur meets you
- Two hours before landing you receive the chauffeur's name, contact and the car plate on WhatsApp and SMS.
- We track the flight. If it arrives early or late, the chauffeur's timing moves with it.
- After immigration, customs and baggage, walk out of the arrivals hall. The chauffeur waits in the meeting area with a printed board showing your name.
- He takes your trolley to the designated pickup level of the multi-level car park, where commercial vehicles collect passengers.
Free waiting is 60 minutes after an international arrival and 30 minutes after a domestic one, counted from the tracked landing time. Airline delays never cost you anything. If you need more time after that, waiting is billed at the hourly rate on your booking and the chauffeur tells you before it starts.

Pickup steps terminal by terminal
Terminal 2, international arrival
- Immigration, then the baggage hall; the carousel number is on the screens above the passport desks.
- Customs, then out through the arrivals exit into the meeting area, where pre-booked chauffeurs stand with name boards.
- Your chauffeur walks you and your trolley to the pickup level in the multi-level car park that connects to the terminal. Ask him to wait at the lift if an elderly passenger needs a rest.
Terminal 2, domestic arrival
The domestic belts are on the same arrivals level; walk out through the domestic exit and look for your name. The walk to the car park is the same.
Terminal 1, Santacruz
T1 is smaller and the kerb is close to the exit, so the chauffeur often brings the car to the permitted pickup lane while you collect bags. He will message the lane and the plate number.
Navi Mumbai International
The newer terminal has its own arrivals forecourt and parking. Our car waits in the commercial parking area and the chauffeur meets you at the exit with a board, the same way as at Sahar.
No night surcharge, even for the 3 am Gulf landings
Mumbai's international arrivals cluster heavily between midnight and dawn. A kaali-peeli at that hour is metered, but a private car hired at the kerb often carries a night premium, and app fares surge. The RutzIndia.com airport fare does not change with the clock. A family landing from Dubai at 3:10 am pays exactly what a business traveller landing at noon pays for the same drop.
Night is also when Mumbai roads move fastest: an airport to Colaba run that takes 90 minutes at 7 pm can take 35 minutes at 4 am. Your fare stays fixed either way, so there is no reason for the driver to take a longer road.

Monsoon, festivals and other Mumbai realities
Between June and September the monsoon can flood low-lying underpasses in the western suburbs within an hour of a heavy spell. Our chauffeurs route around known waterlogging points and use the elevated roads where possible; on red-alert days we send the car earlier for departures at no extra charge. During Ganeshotsav (usually late August or September) processions close roads in Girgaon, Lalbaug and Parel, especially on immersion days, so allow extra time for South and Central Mumbai.
For departures, leave three and a half hours before an international flight from South Mumbai at peak hours, and two and a half hours before a domestic flight from Bandra or Powai. The Coastal Road and Sea Link help from the south; from Thane, the Eastern Express Highway and JVLR are the usual choices.
Onward from the airport: Pune, Shirdi, Nashik, Goa
Many travellers land in Mumbai only to leave it. The car can go straight from the terminal onto the expressway:
- Mumbai to Pune taxi: about 150 km, Rs 5,400 Pay Now to Reserve one way in a sedan, Rs 8,550 Pay Now to Reserve in an Innova Crysta.
- Mumbai to Shirdi taxi: about 240 km, Rs 8,640 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan.
- Mumbai to Nashik taxi: about 170 km, Rs 6,120 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan, useful for Trimbakeshwar and the wineries.
- Mumbai to Goa taxi: about 590 km, planned as a two-day drive for a round trip.
Those route fares apply when you start from a city address. Leaving straight from the terminal, the airport rule applies instead: the transfer fare covers 40 km and each kilometre beyond is added at the plain class rate, so T2 to Pune (about 150 km) is Rs 8,320 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan (Rs 4,360 Pay Now to Reserve + 110 km x Rs 36) or Rs 13,890 Pay Now to Reserve in an Innova Crysta. For the return leg, see the Pune to Mumbai taxi. Browse every intercity option on routes.
Picking the right car for a Mumbai arrival
Mumbai parking is tight and hotel porches in South Mumbai are small, so a sedan is the easiest car for two people. Families with suitcases should book an Innova Crysta on rent in Mumbai; groups heading to a wedding in Juhu or Powai can take a Tempo Traveller in Mumbai. For CXOs and film-industry guests, a Mercedes E-Class or a Vellfire from our luxury car rental in Mumbai meets the terminal on the same fixed-fare basis. If the wedding itself needs decorated cars, see wedding car rental in Mumbai.
Staying on in the city? Convert the transfer into a local 8 hours / 80 km hire (Rs 7,920 Pay Now to Reserve in a sedan with the Mumbai factor) or book a car rental with driver in Mumbai for the whole trip. Our taxi service in Mumbai page covers point-to-point city rides.
Hotel districts and what the drive is really like
Mumbai is long and narrow, so distance on the map tells you little; the time depends on which corridor you use. Airport hotels around Sahar, Marol and the hotel strip of Andheri East are ten minutes away, which is why many transit passengers sleep there before an early connection. BKC, the financial district, is close in kilometres but its internal roads jam badly between 9 and 11 am and again after 6 pm. Juhu and Versova sit on the western side, reached through Vile Parle, where narrow lanes slow the last kilometre.
South Mumbai hotels along Marine Drive, Colaba and Nariman Point are the longest drop inside the 40 km band. Before the Coastal Road opened, the journey meant crawling through Worli and Haji Ali; today the Sea Link and the Coastal Road make it far more predictable outside peak hours. Thane and the Ghodbunder Road townships are best reached by the Eastern Express Highway or JVLR, while Navi Mumbai via Sion-Panvel is easier after the morning rush has cleared.
When you book, add the hotel name rather than just the area. Several large hotels have separate porch entries for guests and banquets, and the chauffeur will use the right gate if he knows in advance. If you are attending a wedding at a Juhu or Powai venue, give us the venue name too, because event traffic on the day can close the main entrance.
Counter taxis, app cabs and a booked car: how they differ
Mumbai offers more ways out of the airport than most cities. Prepaid taxi counters in the arrivals hall sell a fixed fare to your area. The black-and-yellow taxis and the air-conditioned cool cabs at the rank run on meters. App cabs pick up from a designated zone in the car park, with fares set by the app and moving with demand. And a pre-booked chauffeur, like ours, waits with your name at a fare agreed before you fly.
| What matters to you | Counter or metered taxi | App cab | RutzIndia.com |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price known before the flight | Only at the counter or by meter | Shown when you book after landing | Yes, fixed at booking |
| Night pricing | Depends on the operator's rules | Can change with demand | Same fare day and night |
| Waiting for you at arrivals | No | No, you go to the pickup zone | Yes, with a name board |
| Car size for a family | Standard taxi | App categories | Sedan, MUV, Innova Crysta, SUV, Vellfire, Tempo Traveller |
| Company GST invoice | Operator receipt | Depends on the app | Yes |
None of these is wrong. A metered taxi is quick and inexpensive for one person to Andheri; an app cab is convenient if you land with a light bag. A booked car earns its place when you land late, travel with family, need a large vehicle or have to hand an invoice to your company.
What is and is not in the fare
| Included | Not included |
|---|---|
| Car and chauffeur, fuel | 5% GST |
| 40 km from the terminal | Kilometres beyond 40 at the plain class rate |
| Flight tracking and name-board meet | Sea Link, Coastal Road, Atal Setu or expressway tolls |
| 60 or 30 minutes free waiting | Airport entry or parking fee |
| No night surcharge | Waiting beyond the free window |
Business districts and venues we serve
The Sahar terminal is surrounded by work: SEEPZ and the Marol offices are minutes away, BKC with the Jio World Centre convention halls is under half an hour off-peak, and NESCO in Goregaon hosts exhibitions throughout the year. Film City and the studios in Goregaon East bring production crews, and Mindspace in Malad and the Powai campuses are regular drops for IT visitors. In South Mumbai, the Nariman Point offices, the Fort area and the hotels on Marine Drive and Colaba Causeway are the longest in-band trips.
For companies moving people through BOM every week, a monthly account under corporate car rental or shift pickups through employee transport services keep billing in one place. Travellers who want an SUV can book a Fortuner on rent, and VIP arrivals often choose a Vellfire on rent.
Booking, payment, invoices and cancellation
Book on the online booker with your flight number and terminal, then pay by card or UPI. Corporate bookers can enter a GSTIN to receive a 5% GST invoice in the company name. Every car is a yellow-plate commercial vehicle within four model years, cleaned before each job, with the chauffeur in uniform.
The fare includes the car, driver, fuel, 40 km of driving, flight tracking and the free waiting window. It excludes GST, tolls, airport parking or entry fees and extra waiting. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before pickup; after that we retain 10% (within 72 hours), 50% (within 48 hours) and 100% (within 24 hours or no-show). If the airline cancels your flight we simply move the booking. Details are on the cancellation policy page.
Official information
Terminal maps, airline allocations and live arrivals for BOM are published by the airport operator at adaniairports.com, and for the new harbour airport at navimumbaiairport.com. If you are planning trips beyond the city, Maharashtra Tourism lists hill stations, forts and beaches within driving distance. Check your airline's terminal on the day, because allocations change.
