Chandigarh is India's planned city, all wide sector roads, roundabouts and tree-lined avenues, and it happens to sit at the foot of the Shivalik hills with Punjab's wedding heartland all around it. That combination makes luxury car rental in Chandigarh a busy business: NRI families flying home for a December wedding, a groom's baraat that needs a Rolls-Royce at a Zirakpur banquet, a delegation visiting the Mohali IT parks, or a couple who want to be driven up to Kasauli or Shimla in a Range Rover rather than white-knuckling the hairpins themselves. RutzIndia.com handles all of it with trained chauffeurs and fixed, published fares.

Luxury car rental Chandigarh fares

In the Tricity, an executive Mercedes, BMW or Audi saloon with chauffeur is priced at Rs 35,640 Pay Now to Reserve for a full day of eight hours and 80 km. Step up to a Range Rover-class SUV and the day costs Rs 54,150 Pay Now to Reserve; a Vellfire is Rs 51,300 Pay Now to Reserve and an S-Class Rs 91,200 Pay Now to Reserve. Airport runs start at Rs 19,590 Pay Now to Reserve. GST of 5% is extra.

Tricity fares run about five per cent below the Delhi baseline. The table is laid out by car, with the luxury SUV first because it is the most requested class here, thanks to weddings and hill drives.

Highway tolls, the Himachal Pradesh entry tax and permits, and parking at hotels, banquets and viewpoints are recovered at the exact amount paid. Airport transfers include 40 km, which covers all of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula and most venues in Zirakpur.

Tricity price list by model, 2026

Rates as of September 2026. Punjabi wedding families and NRI hosts in the Tricity like to see each car priced on its own line, with the long day and the overrun charges spelled out, so there are no surprises when the baraat runs two hours late. The table starts with the hourly overrun because, in our experience, that is the number Chandigarh families ask about first.

The 12 hr / 120 km package is priced at one and a half times the 8-hour fare plus 40 km at the model's per-km rate. Worked through for the Tricity: executive saloons Rs 60,030 Pay Now to Reserve, Vellfire Rs 85,350 Pay Now to Reserve, large SUVs Rs 90,240 Pay Now to Reserve and flagships Rs 1,50,000 Pay Now to Reserve. If you book a shorter package and overrun, each additional hour is one-eighth of the 8-hour fare, for instance Rs 6,780 Pay Now to Reserve for the luxury SUV, and each additional kilometre is charged at the class rate.

Examples from typical Tricity bookings, before 5% GST:

  • A Zirakpur marriage palace. Range Rover for the groom's family on the 12-hour package, collecting from Sector 8 and returning after the pheras: Rs 90,240 Pay Now to Reserve, with a 13th hour at Rs 6,780 Pay Now to Reserve if the doli leaves late.
  • An NRI arrival at Mohali. Vellfire transfer from Chandigarh airport to a family home in Panchkula: within 40 km, so Rs 28,200 Pay Now to Reserve.
  • A government meeting day. E-Class on 8 hr / 80 km between Sector 17 hotels, the Capitol Complex and Mohali, released at 9 hours: Rs 35,640 plus one hour at Rs 4,440 Pay Now to Reserve, a total of Rs 40,080 Pay Now to Reserve.

For hill roads on a budget, or for the family's back-up car in a wedding convoy, the Toyota Fortuner or MG Gloster at Rs 21,360 a day is a practical option; see Fortuner on rent. For visiting officials who prefer an unbadged black executive car, see our black car limo service.

Punjabi weddings and the Tricity banquet belt

Few places in India celebrate weddings with the energy of Punjab. The biggest functions happen in the banquet halls, marriage palaces and resorts ringing the Tricity: along the Zirakpur-Ambala highway, on the Kharar and Landran roads beyond Mohali, around New Chandigarh, and out towards Panchkula. The season stretches from October to March, with a flood of dates in December and January when NRI families from Canada, the UK, Australia and the US fly home.

The cars people ask us for:

  • The groom's car. A Rolls-Royce, arranged through Rolls-Royce on rent, or a white S-Class or Range Rover decorated with fresh flowers (decoration quoted separately). The baraat often moves slowly with a dhol party, so the booking usually runs 4 hours at least.
  • The doli car. For the bride's departure, many families choose a vintage car or the Rolls-Royce again; see vintage car for wedding.
  • Family cars. Range Rovers and GLS SUVs for parents and elders; E-Class saloons for close relatives.
  • Guest movement. Tempo Travellers and mini buses between hotels and the venue, priced on Tempo Traveller in Chandigarh.

Banquets often host two or three weddings on the same evening, so we agree a gate and a waiting area for each car in advance. Broader guidance on wedding cars is on our national wedding car rental page.

Tricity sectors and towns we serve

Luxury cars are dispatched across all three cities of the Tricity and the surrounding wedding belt. Areas we regularly serve include:

  • Chandigarh: the northern sectors near the Capitol Complex and Sukhna Lake (Sectors 1 to 11), Sector 17 and Sector 22 business districts, the Sector 26 and Madhya Marg hotels, Sector 35, and the Industrial Area.
  • Mohali: Phases 1 to 11, Sector 70 onwards, Aerocity, IT City and the airport area.
  • Panchkula: Sectors 1 to 26, Mansa Devi Complex and the road towards Pinjore and Morni.
  • Wedding belt: Zirakpur, Dera Bassi, Kharar, Landran, New Chandigarh (Mullanpur) and the Ambala highway marriage palaces.
  • Hill gateway: Kalka, Parwanoo and Kasauli, billed per kilometre when a trip goes beyond the local package.

Rail passengers are met at Chandigarh Junction and Kalka; share the train and coach, and the chauffeur waits at the exit with a name board. Chandigarh's airport information is published on the Airports Authority of India page.

NRI homecomings

For NRI families, the trip home is often a carefully planned month: a wedding, a round of family visits across Punjab villages, a pilgrimage to Amritsar, and a few days in the hills. A luxury SUV with the same chauffeur for the whole stay is the most popular arrangement; it gives the family a familiar face, a safe car for elderly parents and room for gifts and luggage. Our NRI car hire in India page explains longer bookings, advance payment by international card and how the chauffeur's stay is arranged on multi-day trips.

Arriving at Chandigarh airport

Chandigarh International Airport lies on the southern edge of the Tricity, on the Mohali and Zirakpur side, roughly 10 to 15 km from Sector 17 depending on the route. Many international travellers also fly into Delhi and drive up, a journey of about 245 km.

  • Your flight is tracked, so an early or late landing is not a problem.
  • The chauffeur waits in arrivals with a name board.
  • International arrivals have 60 minutes of free waiting and domestic arrivals 30 minutes; after that, waiting is charged hourly as shown in the booker.
  • From Delhi's IGI airport, a one-way drive to Chandigarh costs about Rs 40,430 Pay Now to Reserve in an E-Class or Rs 55,130 Pay Now to Reserve in a luxury SUV, before GST and tolls. The sedan equivalent is on Delhi to Chandigarh taxi, and our luxury car rental in Delhi page covers the Delhi end.

For standard transfers without a luxury car, see the national airport taxi page.

Gurdwara and heritage drives across Punjab

For many NRI families, the visit home includes a round of gurdwaras and ancestral villages, often with grandparents who find long drives tiring. A luxury SUV or Vellfire, with a chauffeur who knows Punjab's highways and village link roads, makes those days far easier. Distances are approximate and fares follow the outstation rules, per kilometre with a 250 km minimum for each calendar day on a round trip.

Drive from the TricityApprox. distanceE-ClassRange Rover class
Fatehgarh Sahib, returnabout 100 km250 km minimum, Rs 41,250 Pay Now to Reserve250 km minimum, Rs 56,250 Pay Now to Reserve

Amritsar, one wayabout 230 kmRs 37,950 Pay Now to ReserveRs 51,750 Pay Now to Reserve

All fares are before 5% GST, with tolls added at cost. At gurdwaras, the chauffeur parks where the sewadars direct, keeps head coverings and water in the car, and waits for as long as the family wishes to stay for langar or kirtan. Village visits in the Doaba region can involve narrow lanes and farm tracks, where a higher SUV is more comfortable than a low saloon. If the family plans to visit several villages in one day, share the list of places the evening before so the chauffeur can plan the order and avoid doubling back along the same roads.

Winter fog and night driving

From about mid-December to January, dense fog often settles over the plains of Punjab and Haryana, particularly late at night and early in the morning. Visibility on the highways towards Ambala, Ludhiana and Delhi can drop sharply. Our chauffeurs slow down, use fog lamps and keep to the main highways, and the desk may suggest moving a very early airport run or a late-night return from a marriage palace to a safer hour. Flights at Chandigarh and Delhi can also be delayed by fog; because every airport pickup is flight-tracked, the chauffeur's timing moves with the actual landing.

Into the hills: Kasauli, Shimla and Manali

Chandigarh is the natural gateway to Himachal Pradesh, and this is where the choice of car matters most. Low-slung saloons are comfortable on the Kalka-Shimla highway but can scrape on steep hotel driveways and rough village roads; luxury SUVs are the better fit for almost every hill trip. Himachal Tourism publishes road, weather and destination information that is worth checking before you go.

Outstation trips are billed per kilometre. Round trips are charged on at least 250 km per calendar day, and when the car stays overnight in the hills the chauffeur's stay is covered by an allowance of between Rs 900 and Rs 1,800 per night.

  • Chandigarh to Shimla. About 115 km, roughly three and a half hours. One way costs about Rs 19,590 Pay Now to Reserve in an E-Class or Rs 29,790 Pay Now to Reserve in a Range Rover or GLS, as the minimum fare applies on this short run. A day trip is billed on the 250 km daily minimum, about Rs 56,250 Pay Now to Reserve in a luxury SUV. Sedan fares are on Chandigarh to Shimla taxi.
  • Chandigarh to Manali. About 310 km over two days. One way costs about Rs 69,750 Pay Now to Reserve in a luxury SUV. See Chandigarh to Manali taxi for Innova and sedan options.
  • Kasauli and Morni Hills. Short drives that suit a 4 or 8 hour local package or a 250 km day, depending on your plans.
  • Longer Himachal circuits. Combine Shimla, Manali and Dharamshala with our Himachal taxi service and upgrade the car class.

December to February brings snow to Shimla, Kufri and Manali. Roads above certain points may close after heavy snowfall, and chauffeurs carry the equipment the conditions require. We will always advise honestly if a planned route looks unsafe.

Corporate, government and institutional visits

Chandigarh is the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana and a Union Territory in its own right, so it sees a steady flow of official visitors alongside the corporate traffic heading to Mohali's IT City and the industrial areas of Panchkula and Baddi. These trips have their own rhythm. Meetings at the secretariat buildings and at institutes such as the medical and engineering campuses in the northern sectors usually start early, security at government complexes asks for vehicle and passenger details, and delegations often split mid-morning when one group heads to a plant in Baddi across the Himachal border.

We plan for that with a mix of cars rather than a single large vehicle: an executive saloon for each senior visitor, and a Vellfire for the working team. Chauffeurs carry the paperwork needed to enter Himachal Pradesh for the Baddi leg, and the Himachal entry charge is billed at cost. Corporate clients with regular visitors can move to a monthly account through corporate car rental, which puts every trip on one GST invoice and gives your travel desk a single point of contact.

Timing tips for business days in the Tricity: the roads into Mohali from the Zirakpur side slow down between about 9 and 10:30 in the morning, the airport road is busiest in the early evening, and wedding traffic on winter evenings can add half an hour to any trip near the banquet belt. Our chauffeurs build those windows into the day.

Chauffeur, self-drive or local taxi?

NRI families used to driving in Canada or the UK sometimes wonder about taking the wheel themselves in Punjab. It is possible with some operators; here is why most of our guests choose a chauffeur instead.

Is a luxury car rental in Chandigarh worth it?

For routine errands in the sector grid, no; a sedan from our taxi service in Chandigarh is quick and inexpensive. A luxury car is worth it for four Tricity situations: the Punjabi wedding, where the groom's and doli cars are the centre of the celebration; an NRI homecoming, where elderly parents deserve comfort on long drives to villages and gurdwaras; a hill trip, where a well-kept SUV with a mountain-trained chauffeur makes the drive safer; and official visits, where a correct car reflects on the host. Chandigarh's rates are about five per cent below Delhi's, which makes luxury hire here better value than in the metros.

The chauffeur standard in the Tricity

Every chauffeur on a luxury duty in the Tricity meets this written standard:

  1. Verification: a police verification certificate, identity and address documents and a commercial driving licence, all checked before the first luxury assignment.
  2. Dress: a dark uniform or formal suit; for weddings, the chauffeur of the groom's car can wear a turban or safa matching the baraat if requested in advance.
  3. Briefing: passenger names, flight or train, venue gates, function timings and, for hill trips, the overnight arrangements.
  4. Conduct: no smoking or alcohol, no phone calls while driving, luggage and gifts handled carefully, and complete discretion about family matters.
  5. Mountain experience: hill trips to Shimla, Manali and beyond are assigned only to chauffeurs experienced on mountain roads, with rest planned for overnight stays.

How old the cars are

Every E-Class, 5 Series, A6, S-Class, 7 Series, luxury SUV, Vellfire and Fortuner on a Tricity duty is within four model years of age. The three ultra-luxury names, Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach, are allowed up to seven model years, as these cars usually pass years with private owners before anyone offers them for hire. Vintage cars are sourced and checked for each booking. If your family wants a particular model year for the wedding album, ask the desk to confirm the car before you pay.

The city itself

Chandigarh's grid makes it one of the easiest Indian cities to be driven around. Business visitors typically move between the hotels of Sector 17 and Sector 35, the IT and industrial areas, and offices in Mohali and Panchkula. Leisure visitors see the Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake at sunset and the Capitol Complex, the Le Corbusier ensemble that is part of a UNESCO World Heritage listing. The Chandigarh Administration website carries civic and visitor information for the city.

For short city duties, an executive saloon is ideal; we keep separate notes on each German marque, whether you lean towards a Mercedes, a BMW or an Audi. For elders and groups of four, the Vellfire is the most comfortable choice; read about it on Vellfire on rent. For hills and heavy luggage, choose from the Range Rover on rent class.

Our standards

We do not send tired cars. Saloons, SUVs and the Vellfire on Tricity duties are four model years old at most; only the ultra-luxury trio of Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach may be older, and never beyond seven model years. It is cleaned before each duty and carries water and tissues. Chauffeurs are police-verified and uniformed, speak Punjabi, Hindi and English, and are briefed on the passengers and the plan before the duty starts. On hill trips we assign chauffeurs experienced in mountain driving.

How booking works

  1. Open the booking page, tell it where and when, and select a car class and package; the price appears before you commit.
  2. Settle by UPI or card. If a company or a wedding planner is paying, the GST invoice can carry their name and GSTIN.
  3. Anything bigger, such as a baraat convoy, an NRI month or a week in the hills, is easier over WhatsApp: send the plan and the desk replies with a written quote.

Changed plans? Under our cancellation policy, calling off a booking with more than three days to spare costs nothing. With less than 72 hours to go we keep a tenth of the fare, with less than 48 hours half of it, and with less than a day, or if the car waits and nobody comes, the full amount.

Grooms torn between badges can compare notes on Rolls-Royce for wedding and BMW for wedding. Every class, with seats and boot space, is listed on the fleet page, and the arithmetic behind our packages is set out on the fares page. A pilgrimage to the Golden Temple is a popular add-on for NRI families; see Delhi to Amritsar taxi and taxi service in Amritsar. For everyday cabs in the Tricity, see taxi service in Chandigarh. The national luxury car rental guide lists other cities.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does a luxury car cost for a Punjabi wedding in Chandigarh?

Most families book the groom's car on a 4-hour, 40 km package, which is about Rs 32,490 Pay Now to Reserve for a Range Rover-class SUV or Rs 54,720 Pay Now to Reserve for an S-Class. For a full wedding day the SUV rises to Rs 54,150 Pay Now to Reserve. All prices are before 5% GST; flowers are extra, and Rolls-Royce and vintage cars are priced on request.

Can I hire a luxury SUV from Chandigarh to Shimla?

Yes. Shimla is about 115 km away. One way costs about Rs 29,790 Pay Now to Reserve in a Range Rover, GLS, X7 or Q7 (minimum fare applies), and a same-day return is billed on the 250 km daily minimum, about Rs 56,250 Pay Now to Reserve, before GST. Himachal entry charges and tolls are added at cost.

Do you provide one car and chauffeur for a whole NRI visit?

Yes. Many NRI families book a luxury SUV with the same chauffeur for two to four weeks, covering the wedding, family visits and trips to Amritsar or the hills. Long bookings are quoted in writing; see NRI car hire in India and WhatsApp the desk with your dates.

Is it better to land in Chandigarh or Delhi?

Chandigarh airport is far closer, roughly 10 to 15 km from the city centre, and an E-Class transfer costs about Rs 19,590 Pay Now to Reserve. Delhi offers more international flights; the drive up is about 245 km, costing about Rs 40,430 Pay Now to Reserve in an E-Class or Rs 55,130 Pay Now to Reserve in a luxury SUV, before GST and tolls.

Which luxury car is safest for a Manali trip in winter?

A luxury SUV such as a Range Rover, GLS, X7 or Q7. Snow and ice are common between December and February, and ground clearance and four-wheel drive help. One way to Manali costs about Rs 69,750 Pay Now to Reserve in a luxury SUV, with chauffeurs experienced in hill driving assigned to such trips.

Are Rolls-Royce cars available in the Tricity?

Yes, on request. Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach cars are quoted per booking once availability for your date is confirmed. December and January wedding dates fill quickly, so enquire early through the Rolls-Royce on rent page with the venue and timings.

What is the 12-hour rate for a luxury car in Chandigarh?

Twelve hours with 120 km included comes to Rs 60,030 Pay Now to Reserve for the executive saloons in the Tricity, Rs 85,350 Pay Now to Reserve for the Vellfire, Rs 90,240 Pay Now to Reserve for the Range Rover-class SUVs and a round Rs 1,50,000 Pay Now to Reserve for the flagships. Add 5% GST. Most Punjabi families take this package for the main wedding day and the doli.

How much is an extra hour on a Chandigarh luxury booking?

An hour beyond the package is billed at the day fare divided by eight. In the Tricity that means Rs 4,440 Pay Now to Reserve for an executive saloon, Rs 6,420 Pay Now to Reserve for the Vellfire, Rs 6,780 Pay Now to Reserve for an SUV and Rs 11,400 Pay Now to Reserve for a flagship. Extra distance is charged per kilometre at the class rate, with 5% GST on top.

Can the chauffeur wear a turban for the baraat?

Yes. If you ask in advance, the chauffeur of the groom's car can wear a turban or safa that matches the baraat colours. Let the desk know at least seven days before the wedding, so it can be arranged along with the floral decoration.

Which areas of the Tricity do you cover?

All of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula, plus Zirakpur, Dera Bassi, Kharar, Landran and New Chandigarh. We also meet trains at Chandigarh Junction and Kalka. Trips to Kasauli, Parwanoo and the hills switch to per-kilometre billing when they exceed the local package.

Do you rent luxury cars in Chandigarh without a driver?

No, we only rent luxury cars in the Tricity with a trained chauffeur. That avoids deposits and damage liability, and it means someone experienced handles wedding traffic, winter fog and the hill roads, while you enjoy the celebration or the view.

How much does a luxury car cost from Chandigarh to Amritsar?

Amritsar is about 230 km from the Tricity. One way costs about Rs 37,950 Pay Now to Reserve in a Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series or Audi A6 and about Rs 51,750 Pay Now to Reserve in a Range Rover, GLS, X7 or Q7, before 5% GST, with tolls added at cost. An overnight stay adds the chauffeur's night allowance of Rs 1,500.

Is it safe to drive at night in winter fog around Chandigarh?

Our chauffeurs are experienced with fog on the Punjab and Haryana highways and slow down accordingly. When fog is dense, the desk may suggest moving a very early or very late trip to a safer hour. Airport pickups are flight-tracked, so fog delays to your flight do not cost you waiting charges.

What if our wedding functions run late into the night?

Tell us the expected timings when you book. If a function overruns, the chauffeur stays and extra hours are added at the rate shown in the booker. For long wedding days we recommend the 8-hour, 80 km package, and for multi-day functions we plan chauffeur rest so everyone travels safely.
