Most people who search for a Delhi to Vrindavan taxi want one thing: to stand before Banke Bihari ji while the curtain is open, not to arrive twenty minutes after it closes for the afternoon. RutzIndia.com plans this drive around temple timings first and traffic second. You get a chauffeur who knows where the car can and cannot go in old Vrindavan, a fixed fare built from kilometres, and a car that is within four model years, clean and cool for the ride home.
How much is a Delhi to Vrindavan taxi in 2026?
Fares updated September 2026.
A Delhi to Vrindavan one way taxi is Rs 5,940 Pay Now to Reserve by compact sedan (165 km at Rs 36/km) and Rs 9,410 Pay Now to Reserve by Innova Crysta. A same-day return is billed on 330 km: Rs 11,880 Pay Now to Reserve sedan, Rs 18,810 Pay Now to Reserve Innova. Fares exclude 5% GST, and tolls, UP state tax and parking are charged at actual.
Vrindavan is close enough to Delhi that most families go and come back in one long day. On a round trip we bill the larger of the real return distance or 250 km per calendar day, so a single-day visit is priced on the full 330 km, and an overnight stay (two calendar days) moves to the 500 km minimum. If you plan to cover the wider Braj circuit - Barsana, Nandgaon, Gokul, Govardhan - those extra kilometres usually bring you close to that minimum anyway.
| Car | Per km | One way (165 km) | Same-day return (330 km) | 2-day return (500 km) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Compact sedan (Dzire, Aura) | Rs 36 | Rs 5,940 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 11,880 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 18,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Premium sedan (City, Verna) | Rs 48 | Rs 7,920 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 15,840 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 24,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Ertiga / Carens | Rs 42 | Rs 6,930 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 13,860 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 21,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Innova Crysta / Hycross | Rs 57.6 | Rs 9,410 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 18,810 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 28,500 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Tempo Traveller (12-16) | Rs 78 | Rs 12,870 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 25,740 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 39,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Force Urbania (10-17) | Rs 102 | Rs 16,830 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 33,660 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 51,000 Pay Now to Reserve |
The Yamuna Expressway is tolled, and a Delhi-registered commercial car crossing into Uttar Pradesh pays state tax or permit fees; both are passed on at the receipted amount. Parking near Banke Bihari, Prem Mandir and ISKCON is paid on the spot and added to the bill. For an overnight stay the chauffeur's night allowance is Rs 1,500. Every figure is before 5% GST, payment is by card or UPI through the booker, and a GST invoice is issued automatically if you add a company GSTIN.

Which road: Yamuna Expressway or the old Mathura highway
There are two sensible ways to reach Vrindavan from the capital, and the right one depends on where in the NCR you start.
- Yamuna Expressway - from east and central Delhi, Noida and Greater Noida, the chauffeur takes the DND or the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to Pari Chowk and joins the Yamuna Expressway at Zero Point. It is a straight, fast, access-controlled road with toll plazas at intervals; the car leaves it at the Mathura and Vrindavan interchange for the last few kilometres into town. This is usually the quickest option and the one behind the three-hour estimate.
- NH19 (old Delhi-Agra highway) - from south Delhi, Faridabad and Gurgaon, the national highway through Ballabhgarh, Palwal, Hodal, Kosi Kalan and Chhata can be just as quick, especially early in the morning. It is busier with trucks and local traffic but has more roadside food stops.
Either way, the slowest part of the trip is getting out of Delhi. A 5:30 am start from south Delhi or a 6 am start from Noida usually has you in Vrindavan for the morning darshan. Returning, aim to leave by 7 pm so you are home before the late-evening build-up at the Noida and Faridabad toll points.
Kilometres, time and toll plazas on both roads
| Road and stage | About km | Usual time | Tolls and notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Connaught Place to Zero Point, Greater Noida (DND and Noida expressway) | 45 | 1 hr to 1 hr 15 min | DND is toll-free; heavy at office hours |
| Zero Point to the Mathura-Vrindavan interchange (Yamuna Expressway) | 110 | about 1 hr 15 min | Jewar and Mathura (Mant) plazas |
| Interchange to Vrindavan (Chhatikara road) | 10 to 15 | 25 to 30 min | local traffic near Prem Mandir |
| Expressway total | about 165 | about 3 hrs | tolls at actual |
| Alternative: NH19 via Faridabad, Palwal and Kosi Kalan | about 160 to 165 | 3 to 3.5 hrs | plazas such as Gadpuri near Palwal; more trucks, more dhabas |
In dense December and January fog the expressway may slow to a crawl or see speed restrictions. Our chauffeurs follow those limits and, if visibility is poor at dawn, may suggest starting an hour later rather than driving blind.

Planning darshan: temple timings and parking
Vrindavan's temples keep traditional hours, with morning and evening darshan windows and a long midday break when the deity rests. Timings differ between summer and winter and shift on festival days, so our travel desk confirms them the day before and sets your pickup accordingly. The Mathura district administration publishes local information on its official site, which is a useful place to check notices on crowd management and festival traffic plans.
- Shri Banke Bihari temple - in the old town's narrow lanes. Cars cannot drive up to the gate; the chauffeur drops you at the closest permitted point or a designated parking area, and you walk or take an e-rickshaw the last stretch. Keep shoes, phones and bags light.
- ISKCON Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir - on Bhaktivedanta Swami Marg in Raman Reti, easy car access and parking.
- Prem Mandir - the white marble temple on the Chhatikara road, best visited after dusk when the lighting and fountain show begin.
- Nidhivan and Seva Kunj - sacred groves that close to visitors in the evening.
- Radha Raman and Rangji temples, and the Keshi Ghat evening aarti on the Yamuna.
A typical same-day plan: leave Delhi at dawn, morning darshan at Banke Bihari, breakfast, ISKCON and Radha Raman before the midday closure, lunch and rest, Nidhivan in the afternoon, then Prem Mandir at dusk before the drive home.
Janmashtami, Radhashtami, Holi week and the Kartik month bring very heavy crowds and traffic diversions in Vrindavan and Mathura. Police often stop private and commercial vehicles well outside the town on those days. Book early, start earlier than usual, and expect some walking.
Extending the trip across Braj
A Vrindavan taxi is often the start of a wider Braj yatra, and a round trip makes that easy because the car stays with you.
- Mathura - Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Vishram Ghat, about 15 km away. Our Delhi to Mathura taxi page covers Mathura as a standalone trip.
- Gokul and Raman Reti (Mahavan) - across the Yamuna, associated with Krishna's childhood.
- Govardhan - the parikrama around Govardhan hill is about 21 km; many pilgrims walk it while the car waits at Daan Ghati or follows to agreed points.
- Barsana and Nandgaon - the hilltop Radha Rani temple and Nand Bhavan, the centre of the famous Lathmar Holi celebrations in the days before Holi.
Adding Agra to the same trip is also popular; the Taj Mahal is about an hour further south on the expressway. See our Delhi to Agra taxi route or the same-day Agra tour by car if you want the monuments with a guide. For multi-temple journeys elsewhere in India, our pilgrimage taxi service is designed around darshan schedules and elderly travellers. Official background on the Braj region's sites is also available from Incredible India.

Food stops, etiquette and what to carry
Vrindavan is a vegetarian town, and so is the rhythm of the drive. On the expressway, the food courts at the service areas are clean enough for a quick tea and paratha; on NH19, the dhabas around Palwal and Kosi Kalan are the traditional breakfast halt. In Vrindavan itself, your chauffeur can suggest simple bhojanalayas near ISKCON and the Parikrama Marg that serve sattvik thalis, and the famous pedas are sold everywhere near Banke Bihari.
A few practical points make the day smoother:
- Leave expensive jewellery at home; the lanes near the older temples are crowded and monkeys are bold, especially with spectacles and phones.
- Carry a small cloth bag for footwear, a water bottle and some cash for prasad and shoe stands.
- Modest clothing is expected, and photography is restricted inside several temples.
- In summer (April to June), temperatures cross 40 degrees by noon, so plan outdoor walking for morning and evening. In December and January, dense fog on the expressway can slow the early drive; our chauffeurs reduce speed and keep fog lamps on rather than racing the clock.
Senior citizens can ask for a wheelchair-friendly drop point where possible, and the chauffeur will help with bags, shoes and the walk to the car afterwards.
Taxi, train, bus or driving yourself?
| Mode | How it goes | Suits | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Train to Mathura Junction | frequent trains from New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin (check Indian Railways), then about 12 km by auto or taxi to Vrindavan | one or two travellers with light bags | festival crowds at the station, a second ride to the temples |
| Roadways or private bus | buses leave Delhi's inter-state terminals for Mathura | budget solo travel | fixed timings, bus-stand drop well away from the temples |
| Self-drive | your car, your fuel, tolls, UP tax and parking hunts | experienced NCR drivers | finding parking near Banke Bihari on a busy day is hard work |
| Chauffeur taxi | door to door, the driver handles parking while you queue | families, seniors, groups | start early to beat the morning traffic |
Pickup variants across Delhi NCR
| Start point | What happens | Fare basis |

| IGI Airport T1, T2 or T3 | flight tracking, name board, 60 min free after international and 30 after domestic arrivals; details at Delhi Airport | actual km from the terminal |
| New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin or Anand Vihar stations | meeting at the main car park or taxi exit | standard 165 km fare from central Delhi |
| Aerocity, Connaught Place and Paharganj hotels | lobby pickup | standard fare |
| Noida and Greater Noida | quickest access to the expressway; see taxi service in Noida | usually fewer km than central Delhi |
| Gurgaon | via NH19 or the peripheral expressways; see taxi service in Gurgaon | actual km, shown in the booker |
Pickup across Delhi NCR and drop in Vrindavan
We pick up from any address in Delhi - Karol Bagh, Rajouri Garden, Dwarka, Janakpuri, Saket, Vasant Kunj, Lajpat Nagar, Greater Kailash, Mayur Vihar, Preet Vihar, Rohini, Pitampura and the Paharganj hotel lanes - as well as Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Gurgaon. Our taxi service in Delhi and airport taxi in Delhi pages cover city and IGI transfers; if you are flying in and heading straight to Vrindavan, the chauffeur tracks your flight, waits with a name board and allows 60 minutes free after an international landing or 30 after a domestic one, with hourly billing after that.
In Vrindavan we drop at ashrams, dharamshalas and hotels across Raman Reti, Chhatikara road, Parikrama Marg and the ISKCON area. Many visitors stay overnight to attend the early mangla aarti, and a two-day return suits that plan well.
Braj add-ons and what they cost
Distances are approximate returns from Vrindavan. On a same-day trip the billed distance is already the actual 330 km, so each extra kilometre is charged at your car's rate; on multi-day trips they fill the per-day minimum first.
| Add-on from Vrindavan | About km (return) | Sedan, Rs 36/km (min Rs 3,960 Pay Now to Reserve) | Innova, Rs 57.6/km (min Rs 6,930 Pay Now to Reserve) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mathura: Janmabhoomi and Vishram Ghat | 25 | Rs 3,960 Pay Now to Reserve, minimum fare applies | Rs 6,930 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Gokul and Raman Reti (Mahavan) | 50 | Rs 3,960 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 6,930 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Govardhan, with the car following the parikrama | 60 | Rs 3,960 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 6,930 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Barsana and Nandgaon | 100 | Rs 3,960 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 6,930 Pay Now to Reserve |
| Agra and the Taj Mahal | 140 | Rs 5,040 Pay Now to Reserve | Rs 7,980 Pay Now to Reserve |
The travel desk can build these into a one- or two-day Braj plan, and every car class listed here is described on our fleet page.

- A compact sedan is enough for two to four people on a same-day darshan.
- A premium sedan gives more legroom and a quieter ride for elderly parents.
- An Ertiga or Innova Crysta suits six, with space for prasad boxes and bags.
